Just as a reminder, our rules:

Character requests are still a very frequent topic of conversation within our community, and with good reason - there are a ton of amazing Marvel characters in their universe.

The old Character wish list thread was ballooning a bit, and several characters requested in that thread have since been added to The Contest. We're starting up a new thread to house these discussions so that they can continue, but in a more up to date manner.

A few FAQ's:

1) Why haven't you added (X character) yet?!

A: there are so many characters we want to add, but simply haven't gotten to yet. A character's lack of presence in the Contest currently does not necessarily mean that we've overlooked them or that we don't already have them on our radar. Our teams have a finite amount of time in order to produce content, and we'd love to bang characters out quicker - but still need to maintain realistic developer cadences.

2) We need more female characters and more diversity.

A: Our own team is quite diverse itself, and we agree that representation is an important concern!

3) Why do you bother adding (X re-skinned character) when you've not even had a chance to add (x character not in The Contest)?

A: While some people are not a fan of character re-skins, MANY of our players are. The Marvel universe is one with a lengthy lore, and almost every beloved character has gone through some sort of costume change or shift at some point in their super-powered careers. These differences offer a good opportunity to re-introduce players to content they may not have managed to obtain the first time around, and allowing new players to pick up a certain champion while still keeping things a bit fresh. Our goal is to have a healthy balance between release types.

4) Can you confirm if a requested character is going to be released?

A: The short answer is no. We have specific timelines regarding when we can announce content, and that means that we can't pop in to say 'hey, that person is coming!'. For those wanting to keep on top of our latest announcements or teases, following our Twitter and Facebook accounts are your best shot. We also have an Instagram account that you should follow. Nova Helmet: His helmet grants him these powers and abilities because of its access to the Nova Force:
Flight: As Nova, Sam is able to fly at great speeds beyond escape velocity and past lightspeed. Able to fly from galaxy to galaxy under his own power.[26]
Energy Manipulation:

Like most Novas, Sam is able concentrate the power of the Nova Force into a beam or a ball of energy and fire it from his hands. He can also utilize the energies he generates to create protective or reflective force fields,[23] power star-ships,[23] focus it into an energy razor capable of decimating ships,[23] amplify his own striking power by covering blows in nova force energy or even his whole body with said energy to strike like a cannon round,[20][37][61] detect and remove toxic elements within a living being,[25] and much like his predecessor; the ability to create hyperspace portals which shorten the distance between different points in the universe.[62]
Molecular Acceleration: During battle with a War Bringer robot on Knowhere, Nova utilized his nova force energy in the most creative way, taking a bunch of cables from the Celestial head and supercharging them with his power turning them into a hyper-charged guillotine.[24]
Solid Energy Constructs/Simulated Telekinesis: While training with Gamora and Rocket Raccoon, Sam was able to move Rocket Raccoon's favorite gun with his mind. This power seems limited and he is the only Nova ever shown to use this power.[9] He also has shown telekinetic capabilities when he used telekinesis to knock over the Hulk during a camping trip.[63]
Superhuman Strength: Sam has access to the same strength as that of a centurion from the Nova Corps. Possibly more since he has the share hold of the Nova Force within his helmet, with this strength he has lifted a large metal pillar,[18] and a train car,[27] helped Beta Ray Bill stabilize a descending cargo ship the size of a city,[3] and carried around a boulder of condensed solid gold created from the heart of a supernova.[27] According to himself, Nova can bench roughly 30 tons.[64]
Superhuman Speed: Nova can move at incredible velocities even while running, concentrating his speed mostly on flight though, but more than able to move through the galaxy and back to earth with utmost ease.[26] Nova can leave the atmosphere of a planet very quickly,[4] travel across the country,[17] fly into space,[21] fly from Arizona to Alaska, while carrying a car,[42] move faster than the speed of sound,[42] and can allegedly fly a hemisphere in a few seconds.[16] Sam is able to use his speed especially in flight to exceed the speed of light to enter Hyperspace, for example he flew over a parsec - 80,000 light-years away, in a relatively short period of time.[14][15] His helmet augments his reaction time so he can react at superluminal speeds (during flight),[15] he can also make very tight corners while flying,[18] and can easily avoid the shots of Titus' automatic weapon and blocks 4 more shots,[13] Titanis was unable to tag him.[5]
Superhuman Durability: As a Nova, Sam has an uncanny amount of resistance to abrasion and concussive force. Sam has been hit by superhuman strength blows from the likes of; Gamora,[9] Ms. Marvel,[65] Annihilus,[66] Beta Ray Bill with Stormbreaker,[3] a Cancerverse infected Richard Rider,[67] and having once been knocked halfway across the world by Hulk's evil Kluh persona, from which he only suffered a concussion.[68] He regularly flies at Hyperspace speeds and has re-entered Earth's atmosphere from deep space,[69] and can take crashing through an airplane, multiple buildings and streets,[70][15] and is not overly harmed when hit by concussive blasts from incredibly powerful entities, relics, and war engines.[24] Other examples of Sam's durability include being slammed into the ground, creating a small crater,[71] crashing into the moon at speeds well in excess of escape velocity,[4] when his helmet wasn't fully functional, he still survived a crash landing,[21] took a hit that sent him through a metal wall,[25] when already significantly injured and his powers were on the fritz, he withstood a fall from orbit.[59] Sam was also to blocks a sword strike from Gamora,[9] blasts from Rocket Raccoons energy pistol,[9] and received fire from Titus' automatic weapon at point-black range,[72] a venom sting from Miles Morales,[65] a lightning strike from Beta Ray Bill,[3] and an energy blast from a Chitauri ship.[73] Sam even managed to survive unharmed a bombardment at ground zero - which destroyed planet Hala,[74] that just left him unconscious - just a short time.[45] Sam is immune to most forms of heat and radiation such as re-entering the orbit of a planet,[9][14][70][15][21] heat blasts,[25] an energy explosion from Warbringer at point-black range,[75] and has withstood plunges into stars.[76]
Xandarian Worldmind: His helmet carries the remnants of what's left of the Nova Corps' Xandarian Worldmind, as such, through the device Sam is bestowed a plethora of unique attributes such as;[77]
Universal Translation: The helmet can make any alien species' language appear to him as English.[63]
Cosmic Awareness: Sam's Nova helmet flashes him different colors to depict different scenarios. It also allows him knowledge of most situations going on near him.[78]
Enhanced Intellect: Through the helmet's Worldmind, Sam gains a vast increase in cognitive capacity, filling his mind with knowledge and understanding about the universe as a whole and the scores of countless alien societies and cultures living within it.[11]
Hard-Light Holographic Projection: Sam has shown he can use a combination of the Nova Force and the Xandarian Worldmind to create convincing visual displays.[24]
Cosmic Atlas: The helmet acts as a universal positioning system that enables Samuel to find his way around the galaxy as well as discern the location of just about anything the helmet picks up on like fallen nova sightings, distress signals, and foreign elements in a living body.[22][23][79]
Affiliate Recognition: Able to discern certain individuals from around the universe and their current affiliations.[15]

Superhuman Speed: Speed can run, move and react at speeds far greater than the average human. His top running speed is 761 miles per hour, according to himself.[27]
Molecular Acceleration: He can also generate hyper-kinetic vibrations that accelerate the molecules in matter, causing any solid object he directs his vibrations at to explode.

Superhuman Stamina: Speed's physiology grants him greater stamina when compared to an ordinary human, allowing him to operate at peak capacity for at least several hours before he begins to grow tired.

Superhuman Agility: Speed's physiology grants him superhuman agility being more flexible and having greater balance.
Superhuman Reflexes: He's capable of reacting fast, because he's moving at superhuman speeds everything moves slower for him.
Superhuman Durability: Speed's physiology also provides him with limited protection against impact forces and the high levels of friction that are produced when he moves at superhuman speed.
Superhuman Strength: Speed possesses a limited degree of superhuman strength, allowing him to lift about 800 lbs with his arms and 1 ton with his legs.
Accelerated Perception: Speed's brain processes information at an accelerated rate to match his bodily speed, enabling him to perceive his surroundings while traveling at high velocities. To him, this makes it seems as if the world is going in slow motion.
Speed was believed by Master Pandemonium and the time traveling entity disguised as Patriot to have incredible, undefined potential, on par with his brother, the Demiurge.

Weaknesses
Despite possessing some level of superhuman durability, things such as bullets and energy blasts can injure him the same way they injure a regular person.

The High Evolutionary was exposed to his Evolutionary Accelerator machine, giving him superhuman abilities by accelerating his personal evolution. The Evolutionary has shifted between various levels of evolution over the years, sometimes deliberately sometimes not, with different power levels as well. Often he maintains some level of superhuman power while incorporating the Evolutionary Accelerator machine into his armor, letting him evolve himself further at will. The unstable Isotope E caused the High Evolutionary to uncontrollably fluctuate between god-like powers and Neanderthal-level ability and intelligence.[56]

Among the abilities the High Evolutionary has demonstrated thanks to the Evolutionizer are:

Superhuman Intelligence: The High Evolutionary has evolved his own brain to its full potential; he has virtually unlimited knowledge and intellectual ability.

Healing Factor: Augmented by his armor's automatic Evolutionizer equipment, the High Evolutionary is virtually unkillable. Even after being ripped to pieces and pulverized into organic jelly by the Hulk,[21] the High Evolutionary evolved out of his injuries and was fully restored.[24]

Astral Projection: The High Evolutionary can separate his spirit from his physical form and can survive in this state for an indefinite period of time.

Automatic Defense: The suit is designed to protect its wearer at all costs and, as such, works automatically to prevent disasters from affecting the High Evolutionary.
Reconstitution Protocol: Body armor, including micro-circuitry containing his complete genetic information and thus capable of restoring him to life in the event of his death. Thus the suit can, in time, regenerate his body or even create a whole new body for Wyndham.
Life-Support System: The suit provides complete life support for Wyndham, automatic recycling his air and providing him with water and food.

Schizophrenia: Simpson is the victim of decades of systematic physical and mental abuse and conditioning at the hands of various individuals working for the United States government. As a result, Nuke is insane. He is now little more than a puppet in the hands of his current handler, and able only to follow issued commands. Nuke is completely schizophrenic, suffering from hallucinations. When Venus' song hits him, his greatest desires turn into nightmares, including his fear of the loss of war.[36]

Adrenaline Pills: Simpson has a second heart, and takes different colored pills to produce different bodily effects. Nuke's pill colors are: red, for increased adrenaline; white, to bring him down; and blue, to relax.[35] At times these pills have been placebos.[1]

Weapons
"Betsy" Nuke used an enormous sub-machine gun nicknamed "Betsy" in his missions. Besides conventional machine gun ammunition, Betsy also held six light artillery rounds and two incendiary missiles. On Betsy's side Nuke used an LED counter to count the number of fatalities he had inflicted with his weapon. Nuke also had an unmarked military helicopter for air support, operated by an unnamed colonel. Frank is also equipped with various knives.[36]

The Power Primordial: The Runner's body has been imbued with a portion of the Power Primordial, which is residual energy left over from the Big Bang that created the current Marvel Universe. This energy manifests itself as cosmic energy that the Runner has spent countless eons channeling for certain purposes, such as granting himself superhuman attributes at various levels. The Runner has essentially trained himself over billions of years to channel this energy to grant himself the powers he's wanted and at what level he wants them. This makes the Power Primordial similar to the cosmic energy utilized by the Eternals, only to a much greater degree.[14]

Superhuman Strength: The Runner has channeled a portion of the Power Primordial to grant him superhuman strength. The Runner is sufficiently strong enough to physically overpower beings such as Silver Surfer in battle.[14]

Absolute Speed: As his name implies, the Runner has devoted much of the Power Primordial to build up his speed. He can run, move, and think at incredible velocities. The upper limit of his speed isn't known and, while within the atmosphere of a planet that supports life or can support life, the Runner restrains himself to speeds well below his maximum. However, he has been known to run tens of thousands of miles per hour while on a planet with ease. It is believed that while in possession of the Space Gem that the Runners speed was increased but as confirmed by Thanos it occasionally allowed him to teleport to locations before he himself wanted to be there.[14]

Flight: The Runner is also capable of propelling himself through the air or outer space under his own power. Although he is technically flying while doing this, he actually appears as though he's running. The Runner is capable of flying at speeds many times the Speed of Light, which is roughly 186,000 miles per second. He is arguably the fastest being in the Marvel Universe.[14]

Absolute Stamina: The Runner has also devoted a great deal of the Power Primordial to increase the efficiency of his musculature, which is infinitely superior to the musculature of a human being. The Runner's muscles produce no fatigue toxins during physical activity, granting him limitless superhuman stamina in all physical activities.[14]

Superhuman Durability: The Runner's body is composed of a flexible metallic alloy that renders him practically invulnerable to conventional physical injury. He can withstand powerful impact forces, exposure to extreme heat and pressures, powerful impact forces, and can survive indefinitely within the depths of space without being injured. His body is also specifically designed to withstand the rigors and damage that moving at such extreme velocities could cause to the tissue of most other beings.[14]

Absolute Immortality: While many beings have claimed to be immortal, the Runner is one of the few beings that truly is immortal. As a result of the Elders of the Universe being banned from entering Death's realm by Death itself, The Runner is incapable of dying. While it is possible for him to be injured or rendered unconscious, his body can literally heal him from any type of injury, no matter how severe or how long it might take. Even without Death's edict of banishment, the Power Primordial has made the Runner completely immune to the effects of aging and all known diseases. He also requires no food, water or air as the Power Primordial energies are all that is necessary to sustain him.[14]

Superhuman Agility: The Runner has channeled the Power Primordial to enhance his agility, balance, and bodily coordination to levels beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.[14]

Superhuman Reflexes: The Runner's reflexes have been enhanced even further, enabling him to react almost instantaneously.[14]
Energy Blasts: The Runner has also channeled the Power Primordial for the purposes of firing powerful blasts of concussive force from his hands. It isn't known if he can use these energy blasts for other purposes, such as generating intense heat, light, or to rearrange matter on a molecular level. These blasts have proven powerful enough to harm the Silver Surfer in the past.[14]

Psionics: The Runner has demonstrated a psionic ability to stimulate the pleasure centers in the brains of beings around him, essentially causing them to feel good or to feel at ease. The exact nature and full limits of this power aren't known, nor is it known if the Runner can consciously control it.[14]

Abilities
Although the Runner doesn't particularly enjoy combat, he has proven himself to be a formidable combatant. The sheer speeds at which he can propel himself simply make him too fast for most other beings to even attack him thus making him the fastest character in the marvel universe.[14]

Weaknesses
Prior to Death's banishment, the Runner's obsession with freedom and essentially seeing and experiencing all that there is was responsible for his immortality. Should Death's banishment ever be lifted, and the Runner becomes bored with his life, it could potentially be fatal to him. Also without Death's banishment, it is possible for the Runner to sustain physical injury that the Power Primordial can't heal, resulting in his death.[14]

Powers and abilities
Due to bombardment by extra-dimensional energies, Rambeau can transform herself into any form of energy within the electromagnetic spectrum. Among the many energy forms she has assumed and is able to control are cosmic rays, gamma rays, X-rays, ultraviolet radiation, visible light, electricity, infrared radiation, microwaves, radio waves, and neutrinos. By assuming an energy-form, she gains all of that energy's properties.

She is invisible and intangible in many of her energy forms (the most frequent exception being visible light), and is capable of flight in all her energy forms (reaching velocities up to and including light speed). She also has the ability to project these energies from her body while she is in human form (only one wavelength of energy at a time), usually in the form of energy blasts from her hands. She mentally controls both the type and quantity of energy she wishes to transmit. The maximum amount of energy she can transmit at a given time is unknown. Rambeau can also divert small amounts of various energies for employment as force beams, which have the equivalent to 300 tons of TNT of explosive force. A variation of this ability enables her to project light-based holographic illusions of herself. Rambeau has also shown the ability to split her energy form into several miniature energy forms that are under her mental command, each miniature Rambeau is able to react and fly at light-speed.

When she encounters a new or unfamiliar energy, Rambeau can often duplicate it given enough time for analysis.[71] Rambeau tends to be physically insubstantial in her energy forms, though with concentration and effort she can sometimes perform tasks such as briefly grasping an object, either by partially solidifying or by applying some sort of force to the object in question.

She is immortal and does not age beyond her prime.[72]

When Rambeau temporarily lost her original powers after a massive energy expenditure,[38] she developed the ability to shunt any mechanical energy directed towards her through a dimensional interface surrounding her body, granting her increased strength, resistance to impact, and the ability to fly. After Rambeau asked Reed Richards to examine these new abilities, he theorized that she accessed the same dimension from which she derived her energy powers to create the interface.[40]

Rambeau has strong leadership skills and law enforcement experience due to both of her time as a police officer and former leader of the Avengers. She is an excellent markswoman, unarmed combatant, detective, and swimmer with extensive nautical expertise. She has received Harbor Patrol training, and Avengers training in unarmed combat by Captain America.

Limitations
Rambeau is able to retain her energy form for several hours with no ill effects.[73] She can only transform herself into one wavelength of energy at a time, but she can transform between one energy-state and another in a fraction of a second. Energy Form: Due to bombardment by extra-dimensional energies, Monica Rambeau acquired the ability to change herself into any form of energy within the electromagnetic spectrum.[2] Among the many energy forms, she has assumed and is able to control are visible light, radio waves, electricity, X-rays,[2] microwaves,[10] infrared radiaton,[150] ultraviolet radiaton,[151] cosmic rays, gamma radiation,[24][152] and a wide variety of high-power lasers.[151] It has been theorized that this transformation occurs by Rambeau mentally shunting the matter of her body into the dimension from which she draws her energy, and replacing it with a corresponding amount of energy.[34] Rambeau is apparently unlimited by the amount of time that she can remain in her energy form.[38] In the past, she could seemingly only transform her entire body into one wavelength of energy at a time, being able to transform between one energy-state and another in a fraction of a second.[10] However, with experience, she has demonstrated the ability of converting only parts of herself into sentient energy.[153] Many derivative abilities are achieved in Rambeau's energy form.

Flight: In her energy form, Rambeau is capable of flight in any of her wavelengths.[2] With experience, she has shown the ability to flight in her human solid form as well.[97][105]
Superhuman Speed: Rambeau is capable of moving at extremely high speeds while in her energy form. When converted into a beam of light, she is able to travel at lightspeed.[10]
Intangibility: In certain energy forms such as X-rays, Rambeau can phase through solid matter and even certain energy fields depending on their wavelengths.[150]
Invisibility: When changed into wavelenghts that are invisible to the naked eye, Rambeau renders herself invisible.[150]
Energy Blasts: Rambeau is able of releasing blasts of pure electromagnetic radiation without compromising her body mass integrity.[2]
Energy Absorption: In her energy form, Rambeau is able of rechanneling energy and absorb it to her own form.[2]
Appearance Alteration: With due practice, Rambeau eventually managed to use her facility over light to modulate her energy and create holograms.[39] She has also been able to modify her appearance as an hologram, and outwardly take the form of other people. However, when she does so, she does not actually change her physical shape nor can she emulate their biometrics.[123]
Hard Light Form: After recovering her powers, Rambeau has shown the ability to turn herself into a solid light form, allowing her to stay in energy form but physically interact with matter if she wishes so.[3]
Size Alteration: Using her facility over light, Rambeau is able to change size. She has been shown both to be capable of shrinking[154] and growing significantly in size if needed.[124]
Energy Source: Having the ability to become a being of energy, Rambeau has been able to join her force with other super-human beings' energy signatures in order to empower their attacks as a live battery. In the past, she used her powers to boost Thor's Mjolnir,[155] the Wrecking Crew,[86] Carol Danvers,[156] and She-Hulk.[152]
Dimensional Interface Forcefield: After recovering from an accident that caused her to lose a big portion of her body mass due to her powers,[12] Rambeau's abilities changed drastically. No longer able to convert herself into energy, she acquired the ability to consciously envelope her body into a milimiter-thick dimensional interface that acted as a link between her physical body and the extradimensional source of her former powers. This force field was reactive to mechanical energy directed towards Rambeau, granting her extreme resistance against physical impact, increased strength and the ability to fly at high speeds.[157] However, her powers returned to their former behavior.[81]
Permanent Energy Form: After being infused with additional photons by Blue Marvel's antimatter projection abilities, Rambeau experienced an extreme power boost.[18] The improvement turned Rambeau's energy form into her natural state, granting her not only higher limits to her previous abilities but also new ones.[16] After burning out most of her additional power helping the Vision enter the House of Ideas in order to defeat Nyx,[158] Rambeau returned to being human again.[19]

Hyper-Cosmic Awareness: Although Rambeau took on a hard light semblance to resemble her human form, she did not process sensory reception like a regular human being. Her consciousness perpetuated approximate human senses allowing her to precisely be aware of what she was seeing, hearing or feeling and translating it to something her physiology recognized. To this extent she is also aware when something is grievously wrong with the universe as well, having prophetic dreams of a cage around Eternity.[130]
Eidetic Memory: Though since she acquired her powers, Rambeau's photographic memory improved, her power-up allowed to have total recall of everything she sees,[123] probably an effect of a latent cosmic awareness that she had due to being an energy consciousness.[130]
Immortality: Being a creature of pure energy, Rambeau used to be functionally immortal, not aging beyond her prime.[134]
Abilities
Skilled Leader: Monica Rambeau has strong leadership skills being the leader of different incarnations of the Avengers and other super-hero teams. She also has law enforcement experience as a formar harbor patrol agent.
Master Combatant: She is a master at hand-to-hand combat. Rambeau's hand-to-hand combat skills are increased thanks to her law enforcement and Avengers training.[159]
Nautical Expertise: As a former harbor patrol enforcer and boat charter businesswoman, Rambeau has advanced nautical knowledge, being referred to as "Mon Capitaine" by Professor André LeClare for her expertise and bravery.[2] Moreover, she has been showed to be a strong swimmer.[26]
Multilingual: Rambeau speaks fluent English and French.[160] She was shown to be able to communicate in Portuguese.[13]
Weaknesses
In her energy form, Monica Rambeau has shown to have some weaknesses and limitations:

After acquiring her powers, Rambeau was unable of interacting with the physical world in her energy form, being restricted from becoming tangible.[11] Apparently, after mastering the ability to become solid light, this limitation stopped being a problem.[3]
When converting herself into lightning and hitting the ocean, Captain Marvel proved to be unable to keep her cohesion and was severely damaged by the experience.[161] Following this episode, Rambeau has expressed her trauma of using her powers underwater.[153]
Her energy form has been shown to be particularly vulnerable and inneficient against darkforce in several occasions.[162][163][164]

The unstable Isotope E caused the High Evolutionary to uncontrollably fluctuate between god-like powers and Neanderthal-level ability and intelligence.[56]

As a fan of mobster characters, I'd like to see Hammerhead get added to the game. He's one of those Spider-Man villains gallery members I'm not seeing get enough love and recognition, and I think he would be an interesting addition to the game. Even with 4 crime boss champions already (Joe Fixit, Mr. Negative, Kingpin and The Hood), I don't think it would hurt to add a fifth, not to mention the addition of other Spider-Man villains such as The Scorpion, Kraven the Hunter and Mr. Negative. These are the ideas I had for Hammerhead:

Bio: After a nasty brawl, Maggia Hitman Joseph Martello was found with his skull shattered. But then, he was taken in and had an adamantium plate implanted in his head. Upon waking up, the young man could not recall his real name, and thus came up for himself the moniker 'Hammerhead'. Since then, he has become a notorious Mob Boss in New York City, often against the likes of Spider-Man. Hammerhead shaped his characteristics and personality off his inspiration, Al Capone. Recently, he bullrushed his way into The Contest, with hopes of becoming the Big Man he always wanted to be. Perhaps this 'ISO-8' might help him?

Special Attack 2: Gunnin' Down

Hammerhead brings out his dual Tommy Guns and lets loose. He's showin' you that he ain't no 1930s wannabe.

Each hit the opponent takes from Hammerhead's bullets has a 50% to inflict a Bleed Debuff that lasts 5 seconds.

Special Attack 3: Beat 'Em To Paste

Hammerhead decides he's had enough and drops the guns, using his hands instead. He bullrushes the opponent against the wall and beats them to a pulp, ending it off by grabbing them by the neck and delivering a nasty headbutt to the face. Ouch! He ain't called Hammerhead for nothin'.

The opponent gains a Stun Debuff that lasts for 7 seconds. Hammerhead gains an Unblockable Debuff that lasts for 10 seconds.

This is just a rough idea I had in my mind right now. I'm open to criticism.
