How are the War Rankings working?

SUMMARY: Before starting of the last war season our alliance was ranked 125 in Gold 1, we fought 12 wars this season out of which we won 8(7 in Tier 6 and 1 in Tier 5), we lost 4 of these(1 in Tier 5 and 3 in Tier 6.

Yet, we finished this season again in Gold 1 with exactly the same rank 125,

Not sure how this makes sense, Apparently we did not get to play many tier 5 wars even after winning the last 5-6 wars on a trot we only got the last war as tier 5(won) and probably the first war of the season was also tier 5(lost).

Will somebody please care to explain how exactly this is happening? Does this mean all the alliances who were above us in ranking last season, all of them have won more than 8-9 wars this season?

Sounds quite unbelievably ridiculous to accept after so much of hard work for the last few seasons to push for Plat4.
If we won 1 and lost 1 T5 war, and then won 7 t6 wars, the overall outcome should have been improved significantly since we won about 66% of the total number of wars.

Any insight would be helpful.

There was a bug in the war rating calculation this season. The first war of the season awarded the correct amount of points (+/- ~60), but each subsequent war only awarded +/- ~20. Kabam acknowledged this, said it was unintended, and said that a fix was in place, but they couldn't implement it mid-season, so it wouldn't go into effect until next season.

If you lost the first war of the season, then went 8-3 for the remainder of the season, you would have gained 160 war rating from your victories (8 x ~20 war rating) and lost 120 war rating from your losses (-60 for the first war, and another -60 for the other 3 losses). For the season, that would result in a net gain of 40 war rating (less than 1 victory in a normal season). Hence why you're seeing yourself around the same rank this season.

Yes pls explain, it's totally unacceptable, if any alliance won there 8 matches out of 12 wars, but still there is not much change in there rank from previous seasons, it means 3 win progress is balanced back if we lost one war

Thats why war rewards are taking ages to be released as they have to sort out the outcome of this bug

I don't think there's any way to fix it. Because of the war rating miscalculations, you (and everyone else) were matched against alliances that you shouldn't have been. After a win, your rating and tier should have increased more, facing you off against more difficult opponents. After a loss, it would have decreased more, facing you off against easier opponents.

Our alliance went a perfect 12-0 this season. We started out in Tier 10 and ended up in Tier 7 at the end of the season. Had we gone on a winning streak during a regular season, we would have increased to Tier 7 by war 4 or 5, and there's no way we would have been able to win all 12 wars.

In their original announcement, they said that this issue affected "all alliances equally," so I wouldn't anticipate any adjustments for this issue.

That's the exact same issue with mine alliance too. War rating decides Tier and tier decides points. But Still we won alot of matches in a row our rating improved a lot but tier didn't. The guys in Plat 4 have less war rating than us.
