Anyone else feel this way on BG?

So to you, if 2 guys make 100g a year but one, through dedication and time spent, gets discounts on goods, then he earns a better salary than the other? The rewards are the trophies, the discount in the store has nothing to do with it. That’s the purchased product you spend your hard earned currency on

That would be another comparison that makes absolutely no sense because the store isn't giving you discounts, it's giving you items the other person can't have yet. You're already getting better rewards in general, same amount of trophy tokens but you can spend them on much more useful resources than the other person.

@ItsClobberinTime Then if UC can’t meet a paragon, how can he be in the same bracket fighting for the same reward?

Because they can't buy the same things in the store you can (those are the real rewards, trophy tokens are useless if the BG store didn't exist) so there's no reason to be putting them at such disadvantage.
If we were talking GC then that would be understandable but allowing a Paragon face an UC player in bronze or silver? Do you even understand how problematic it would be having to win 3 fights in a row (per league) against completely randomized opponents?
Besides, after all the sandbagging we've had to deal with for the past three seasons, I think we deserve to be given a break.
This argument is so flawed. Why are they even playing in the same league which gets them the same rewards, but only other players of the same strength playing. This happen in war where lower ranked alliance was only playing each other but in high tier rank. They never played against the top alliance since their prestige was so low, but got the top reward. Kabam realize their mistake and fixed it. Every other part of the game has different levels of difficulty to join, AQ has different, war has different tiers, monthly event quest and side quest has different difficulties. Incursions has different sectors you can join.

I’m all for ever level to have fun in BG cap but if they want the top rewards play against the top champs. If you make GC you can earn more then 50k of trophy tokens , which lower players like you said x pant even use isn they can’t buy the higher rank materials anyway , so make it like incursions, AQ, War, monthly and side quest (pretty much every other game mode) and have different tiers for different accounts.

I keep hearing everyone wants to enjoy BG at their level. I’m ok with that. Have it different tiers with different prizes and their won’t be many matching issues like now. Stop saying you only want to face others of the same roster size so you can enjoy BG but want the same rewards. It’s so crazy how people of different levels should all get the same rewards but don’t want to play everyone in that league.
We're in the same league yet lower players are the only ones that have to fight opponents they can't physically beat no matter what they do? What kind of logic is that?
What's flawed is your argument because you're ignoring the fact that due to the way GC works, no small account could survive in there, no small account could make it to the top, so you comparing this to that AW situation makes no sense.

Top rewards? Top rewards are in GC not VT what are you on about? Nobody here is arguing we should get into GC, I'm just saying us facing Paragons and Thronebreakers in lower leagues is ridiculous.

Not once did I say I want to face only people with the same roster strength as mine, in fact if you read the whole conversation I very clearly said I've no issue versing Cavaliers or stronger opponents in general as long as there's a small chance I can win. Against a Thronebreaker or a Paragon there's none.

Nah, what's crazy is that even after the posts Kabam have made about how they don't want sandbagging in the game cause they obviously don't want big accounts facing small accounts as it's too much of an advantage for the big account to and the small account to can't really do anything about it, there's still delusional people like you who want to keep facing small accounts cause they can't deal with the ones that are just as big theirs.

I despise cheaters and sandbaggers as much as anyone, but IMO it is better to just play and not care as much about the outcome. I am collecting rewards at a nice pace just playing casually and care free.

Of course I want these things to be fixed/prevented, but every move Kabam makes, the cheaters/sandbaggers will have a counter.

I can't let this stuff bother me. This is a video game played on my phone. Not my job. Not my marriage. Not my kids. Just a game.

    This guy gets it.

Look, you are a new player, just made it UC, your knowledge of the game is limited so is your roster. Keep focusing on solo content and building up your deck, and wait for a bit when most of bigger accounts move up - you can come back and match with newer player like yourself.

MCOC has alwayw been about building your roster as no 1 priority . BG is just cherry on top.

I don't need to wait for nobody to move up, I shouldn't be forced to wait for people to move up to play lol and Kabam has already made it very clear that they don't want big accounts facing small accounts which is why they want sandbagging to end ASAP, it's unfair. True, you can play. noone is stopping you, like noone can stop you from endless cry posts on forum. Doesnt matter if you like it or not, you will lose, because of various factors, sandbagging is just your easy excuse for having small roster, lack of skills or limited understanding of the game, but sure whatever keeps you happy.

If you put all your effort into progressing in the game instead of spamming unfair unfair, you would've been paragon+ by now and actually be happy to face sandbaggers as they give easy win 🤪

But I am pretty sure even if kabam prevents sandbagging you will find another reason to be frustrated about.

Good luck mate, hope you will get out of bronze soon! 💪
Guess What though! All those cry posts worked lmao cause now you won't be able to sandbag and I'll be able to actually play the game mode as much as I want, and none of these personal attacks you just sent will change that (though I'm sure they'll help you sleep at night).

I'm frustrated about sandbagging but what are you so frustrated about? Was my reply really that triggering you had to start throwing personal attacks for absolutely no reason? I can smell the malding through my phone.

There are lots of BG discussions and I'm going to try and avoid the hot topics but the way BG is currently setup has completely demotivated me from wanting to rank up or improve my champs. Im now avoiding putting aig into champs and avoiding ranking up great champs. I also won't use relics on any of main BG user champs.

This is pretty much the opposite of how it's always been for this game. It's always been about how to build roster, max sig champs, rank and level up, etc. But nowadays, because for some reason kabam made a controversial decision to make BG matchmaking similar to the failed AW experiment years ago, now stronger champs just means harder matchups in BG.

I'm a strong Paragon player who has been playing 7 years, but I'm not a whale (spend minimal), I don't have the new champs (which many of the newer champs are stronger defenders or benefit from specific counters).

Why spend the effort grinding, building up my roster just to be forced to fight harder matches than someone with a weaker roster, who has played less and puts less effort into the game?

Eh you’re not factually correct as far as I understand, because once you go into Gladiators circuit you meet people based on rank points not hero rating. You can’t progress very far without a strong roster.
I usually get matched with people with much stronger rosters it’s just how it is and sometimes I win, sometimes I loose. It’s just how life works.

Another thing is that this post is unfair complaining. “Why do I get matched with people who have similar rosters?” - to play based on skill. From that I understand that you want to be matched with players with weaker rosters so that you could feel good?
  • ChatterofforumsChatterofforums Member Posts: 1,779 ★★★★★

I’m not sure what the solution is. I’m a paragon player with very average skills and I’m struggling to get out of bronze.
If that’s the way it’s meant to be, it’s hella depressing.

This is the point Im trying to make. Players that are way lower than you are getting an easy path to plat and diamond while much stronger players are struglling to get out of bronze and silver. I really don't see how this is fair. Those with strong rosters were just handed their rosters so why should they be punished for having them?

Does your reply actually make sense to you or your just defending yourself getting easier matchups from having a weaker roster? Why do you think so many strong players are sandbagging and manipulating roster?

This has nothing to do with "feel good" it has to do with getting the deserves rewards. This season and last season there were numerous TB and Paragon stuck in bronze and silver while much much weaker players are getting easy path to much higher tiers. If that lower player can't beat the higher player one on one and only in higher tier because of easier matchups, how in the world is it fair?

    That is an interesting point.
If the matchmaking was purely based off of progression bracket titles (like paragon matches with paragon, TB matches with TB), the lower end players of each bracket would never make it far especially paragon as the range in the rosters of the bracket would be gigantic.

However the victory track offers the same rewards no matter what level a player is, the only difference is what tokens get for each player in the store based on progression. It does open for the argument that matchmaking in the victory circuit should purely be based on the rank (bronze -> vibranium) but then how do UC/cav players progress then?

A solution would be to lessen the grind from the victory track to the gladiator circuit. Maybe by placing higher in the gladiator circuit in the previous season reduces the amount of victories needed per tier on the victory track for the next season, this would filter out the big rosters faster as they move back in the gladiator circuit where they belong?

My question here is what makes you think that what you perceive as an easy match (because you're Paragon) will also be perceived as an easy match by us? That's where you're wrong, just because you see Uncollected players as "easy matches" it doesn't mean they're easy matches for people who are at that same level. I've lost games against other Uncollected players either because they drafted better defenders or just played better in general. You need to stop saying we're getting "easy matches" as if we're sandbagging because we're not.
Even if what you said was true then how come you facing another Paragon isn't an easy match? Does this only apply when an Uncollected player faces another Uncollected player but not when a Paragon faces another Paragon?

Also other people sandbagging is system abuse. It has nothing to do with your point.

I have also met numerous Paragons and Thronebreakers that well aren’t that good. Sorry this mode is reality. If you can’t play you can’t play. And now you are asking a company to do something about it. Namely match you with people who can’t win no matter what due to much weaker roster.

So getting matched with players who have weaker rosters is Now a just reward? Do you even listen to yourself?

Also other people sandbagging is system abuse. It has nothing to do with your point.

I have also met numerous Paragons and Thronebreakers that well aren’t that good. Sorry this mode is reality. If you can’t play you can’t play. And now you are asking a company to do something about it. Namely match you with people who can’t win no matter what due to much weaker roster.
Exactly that's why I find it so ironic that these people are saying we shouldn't get "easy matches" while they're quite literally asking to get matches they can't lose no matter what. Get rid of sandbagging but make it random so there's still a chance they can just completely obliterate another player for free points. If anything this shows the amount of entitlement some people around here have, no to mention them saying an Uncollected player facing another Uncollected player is an easy match, but a Paragon facing a Paragon all of a sudden isn't an easy match and it's unfair.

Does your reply actually make sense to you or your just defending yourself getting easier matchups from having a weaker roster? Why do you think so many strong players are sandbagging and manipulating roster?

This has nothing to do with "feel good" it has to do with getting the deserves rewards. In the nicest possible way, you cannot complain about people being entitled for wanting random matchmaking. Your own point of view is just another sort of entitlement. You feel you should be able to rise through victory track as fast and easily as more skilled and stronger players, who have invested in their roster, developed skills and played longer.

You have to bare in mind, when current paragons and thronebreakers were at the uncollected/cavalier stage, they didn't even have battlegrounds to help progression at all. ANY rewards you can get as a smaller account that helps progression should be taken to grow your account and come back stronger. You should not however be immediately rising through victory track at the same or greater accounts/skill levels without facing them. It's a sliding thing the stronger accounts should rise quicker and further, the smaller accounts slower and not as far.

The random matchmaking proposal is completely fair but admittedly it would make everyone's lives easier if it was also accompanied with staggered start points either based on progression or previous season.

Your clearly just another weak entitled roster who thinks you should be able to get the same and better rewards than those better than you. Again, we're not getting easy matches like you claim, Uncollected players facing Uncollected players aren't easy matches, they're fair matches.

Weirdly enough that logic only applies to Uncollected and not Paragons right? If an Uncollected faces an Uncollected it's an easy match, if a Paragon faces a Paragon it's not an easy match. If you're so skilled and strong why aren't matches against other Paragons easy to you, and if I'm not as skilled and strong wouldn't matches against other Uncollected players be logically harder thereby I wouldn't be able to climb the ladder quickly like you claim? If that's not entitlement I don't know what is.

You realize that as more content is added to the game they have to make it quicker to progress right? Why do you think they made it so t4cc are so easy to get now. When I left this game nearly 3 years ago it took a whole week to get one of the right class, now you can easily get more than one in a week.

When have said I should progress quicker?
I've lost matches against other Uncollected players, you're under the notion that because those accounts look weak and easy to beat for you, it's the same for those with an equally weak roster.

It may be fair to you, it's not to me, and it's not to other people including Kabam. They clearly don't want matches were an opponent can have a huge roster advantage over the other yet you people are still debating this.

Then you simply shouldn't be in the same league structure as better players who have progressed further, if player A is stronger than player B they should be ahead of player B in the victory track, it's simple.

And no kabam haven't said that, they have said they don't like people sandbagging and nor do I. They have been incredibly quiet as always on what their "fix" is. Sandbagging should be irrelevant because it should be random. The only reason kabam may agree you is because matching by prestige, title, deck strength or whatever promotes a long and arduous victory track which grinds people down, promotes a 50% win rate type league from the get go which In turn wears people down and promotes victory shield sales. So maybe they do agree with you but it's not for the purpose of being Fair In your eyes.

Your clearly just another weak entitled roster who thinks you should be able to get the same and better rewards than those better than you. I'm definitely good at this game as I've 100% all content fairly easily. If you don't believe me, I have hundreds of videos on my (now abandoned) YT channel. I haven't made videos in over a year but you will see I absolutely know how to play the game at MCOC AlBundyRules

You have a reading comprehension of a 6 year old.
What I said is that I was being matched against stronger rosters. I was Thronebreaker until today. I would get matched against Paragons most of the time. Because I had a strong, but not very strong roster for Thronebreaker. And I would lose some and win some against stronger rosters. Sometimes I would get steamrolled against very powerful rosters. Sometimes I would get matched against very weak rosters, but winning against them I would feel pity rather than joy. Because I know how it feels to go against impossible odds.

What you are crying about is that you don’t want to play against rosters of your power level. You want abuse people with weaker rosters. Basically you want to be a bully/wife beater, someone who picks on weaker people. And now you go and complain about it on forums, that you cannot get your way.

Al Bundy Rules, but you don’t.

Oh, into the insults, how classy. Anyway, I in no way want "easy" matchups although I also don't have an over the top who where I have the need to be and face the best of the best.

What I've been saying for seasons now is that the way BG is setup currently is almost identical to the very failed version of prestige based AW years ago. This caused much stronger alliances and players to place lower than far weaker alliances which wasn't fair at all because those weaker alliances getting higher rewards couldn't hold a candle to the stronger alliances but we're rewarded for being weak with weaker matches getting them rewards far higher than they deserved.

There are literally numerous paragon players as we speak who can't get out of bronze or silver (I'm in diamond so not speaking for myself but I care about fairness) meanwhile I'm seeing people around UC and Cav in plat and diamond. Not because they are great or better than the paragon ayers but because they are getting much easier matchups.

If a weaker player can't beat a stronger player, why should they get better and easier rewards?

Yes, stronger players should be ahead indeed. I'm not asking to never face Paragons or Thronebreakers (maybe I chose my words poorly yesterday) at all cause that would be ridiculous we would have so many weak players at the top in GC. What I've been saying is it would be ridiculous to have to face Paragons and Thronebreakers in the lower leagues (bronze, silver etc) cause then the game mode will be unplayable for weaker players the first weeks (which is the case for me right now anyways and it really is annoying).
In order for random matchmaking to work and not be a pain in the arse for either side we'd all have to start a few leagues below from where you placed last season but not drop all the way down to bronze. That way by the time we start facing strong accounts we'd probably be in plat or close to plat which would be understandable, we shouldn't be able to get past plat at my current level at least.

If a weaker player can't beat a stronger player, why should they get better and easier rewards?
Exactly. If you can’t beat people with same roster level why should you get any rewards at all?

You don’t care about fairness, because moping the floor with people who have weak rosters is anything but fair…

I’ve finally had time to sit down and put some time into BG’s this season. I’ve kept an eye on the level of accounts I’m getting matched up against.

I’ve played 21 matches so far this season in the victory track. Of those 21, 18 have been paragon accounts (the same level as me) and only 3 have been thronebreaker. I haven’t seen any sandbaggers or modders yet.

I’m not sure I see what the problem is with the matchmaking. From my experience it seems fair?

i'll say this. i love Battlegrounds really ... as a mode and general purpose. HOWEVER, this season more so than any has been literally infested with cheaters .. this on top of the continued control issues often makes playing the mode just not fun. i haven't played in days whereas I would play daily because of the mixture of those two things.

to us paragons the matching isnt too bad infact we would be glad to match a sandbagger cuz that would be possibly an easy win.
Yeah they left just seeing my roster as TB lol.

Pretty much. Either the system is not consistent and shows wrong HP and number of Hits after fight or the number of cheaters is astounding. I still play daily but something is wrong.

Only reason matchmaking needed a change is because people with higher tier champs didn’t want to face whales since they have triple the size of an account but making people face whales and cav face easier opponents is just really unfair at times like I go on a 2 win streak against people my size and then facing 6 whales back to back purely unfair matchmaking needs another change to be more fair for everyone not just the lower players since this mode is mainly played by paragons and tbs
