Will your story progression mean you can get free 7 star shards?

For example I’m on 7.3 and was wondering if I would get 7 star shards for free due to story progression. Will it happen

You gets 7* shards by duping 6* champs.

Why would there be “free” 7* shards? Also, define what you mean by free. Accessible to free to pay players? Absolutely. Given away to players for nothing? Absolutely not. You’ll need to earn them.

That only happened because the content became bugged last year and there were players that at the time were able to unfairly run it more times than other players. The key system was developed to solve this bug so that all players would have fair access to earn the same rewards as one another. There was no freebie here and you've gotta beat the gauntlet to get those rewards, which isn’t an inherently easy thing to do.

The keys aren't free. They are a reward for initial completion of act 6. Kabam just sent the keys to those that had already accomplished that before the change was implemented.

To answer your question, you can earn 7* shards now by duplicating 6*. We don't know when Kabam will add them as rewards for completing content however. What we know is that they won't be handing them out "for free". You will have to earn them by completing whichever new content they release that has 7* shards as rewards.
