Kabam, we are all begging you here

Kabam, PLEASE update the t5b and t2a inventory cap or just let us sell them. It physically pains me seeing so many of these in my overflow and expire. The t6b and t3a inventory update was great, so why not update for the 'less valuable' resources too? Even with the sigil, the cap for these items is far lower than what they need to be.

That would make too much sense. Every progression level you go up the caps for the catalysts for the prior one should go up. Ex: When you become paragon increase t5b t5cc t2a and valiant increase t6b t6cc t3a. I don't know why they chose to tie this mechanic to the level system which almost is never relevant when the progression system that's always relevant and what players push for is right there. It would be a really good incentive for lower accounts to make the leap or even spend a little for that extra perk

I 100% agree. As you progress, you gain more and more catalysts, yet your capacity to upgrade champions is decreased, mostly due to a lack of sources of Gold. if you choose to save Gold for rank ups, you risk having expired catalysts, but using all your catalysts means that you won't have much Gold left over for other rank ups. Kabam should really think about changing and overhauling the Gold or catalyst system, because the current one just doesn't work with higher level players. The current system works fine for lower level players, but once you start getting 6*s, you just end up with tons of materials in the overflow.

We have no gold/ISO to rank up that much stuff, so if we are not going to get a resource balance, then we should get the cap either increased or removed

Been fighting for this for forever. Kabam knows, then basically kicked us while we're down with the new cap update, excluding t2A and t5B. It's such a universal problem with such an easy fix, so please enlighten us @Kabam Miike , why isn't this addressed?

I sense an "economy" post reply coming. They usually bottleneck something, and usually it's the rarest catalysts, so it's weird those have higher caps than the level below. Might reflect their desire to push people to get 7r3s in the coming months.

Personally, I think this is not an unreasonable request myself. However, the forums' track record on responding to economy statements of any kind range from dumpster fire to brain eating amoeba. I'm sure this is not coincidental with economy related replies or announcements being infrequent and targeted.

I agree. But i think extending inventory caps for t5b and t2a would be way better received than lowering unit cost of potions when no one even suggested that that was the issue with the system, you know?

All I'm saying is given the general response to economy statements, if players think Kabam should be making changes to the game economy and voice that opinion, they shouldn't expect Kabam to directly respond or even talk about it much until those changes go live or are about to go live, because the idea that responding is better than not responding is historically inaccurate.

I happen to know that Kabam has heard these comments from the playerbase and has also discussed it with CCP members, and I know they are considering and/or working on ways to address these issues, but beyond that they won't say and I can't say.

Imagine you're a game economy designer. There's a resource you're working on. It is a resource that different players earn at different rates at different times. There's no one perfect flow of this resource that will work for everyone: some people will have an excess of it, and some people will be short of it, however you design its availability.

But that's okay, because you can add a lot of it for the players who need a lot, and the players who get a lot can just sell it. But wait, this is a valuable resource. If you allow players to sell it, you now have to account for those players no longer getting an excess of a resource, but just plain getting more stuff. That's unintentional. The trade in value of that stuff can't be significant. But you can just make it trivially small. Except if you do that, players will complain that the trade in value is ridiculous, and you don't want to generate those complaints.

So it is either a) make the resource constrained, such that some players get exactly enough and everyone else faces severe shortages or b) make the resource more available, and some players will simply get a lot more than they need and won't be able to use it.

Real game economy designers deal with more complex versions of this decision all the time, and often times large excesses are the result of the designer trying to balance things towards players with shortages without disrupting the rest of the game economy. I'm not saying Kabam is structured this way, but I've seen games where a designer can design in an excess of a resource when that resource will have no knock down impact on the rest of the game economy, but if they want that excess to be convertible into anything else then they have to justify that excess to a set of other designers, producers, and other managers, and it is simply not worth it, so they are operating within the a) or b) choice most of the time.

This isn't dumb, this is just the reality of working on a little thing in a bigger picture, and it happens all the time everywhere.

We were all being very patient with this. I think what really sparked the fire is the fact that they literally just made big changes to inventory caps, and excluded the exact items that we needed raised. That's just insane. If you know for a fact they've been listening and discussing it, then that is clearly just a smack in the face.

They literally excluded those items from the player base/progression level that needed it the most. So yea, a lot of people are frustrated, and very rightfully so. Kabam apologist or not, I find it hard to believe that you don't see the issue.

I've suggested at the very least to have the items auto sell when they expire. What's the harm in that? Give us literally anything so that those items aren't completely useless to us, because that's exactly how it feels when we get those, basically the same as getting nothing at all.

1) raise the capacity to a reasonable amount.
2) let us sell them
3) have them auto sell when they expire

There's no excuse to not implement one of those. And I'll reiterate, they just implemented changes and specifically excluded the player base and items that are by far the largest issue. Makes zero sense, and I would love to hear their explanation for it.

I think this is the main issue at play here. It seems like whenever something is asked for Kabam does it but a little to the left that leaves everyone baffled as to how that decision even happened. It's like:
Players want inventory caps raised because of t5b and t2a in overflow -> Okay lets discuss this -> We have decided to raise the inventory caps because the players were right -> Lets raise the inventory caps for the players that weren't begging for it.

It just feels like a weird disconnect, same with the potions thing. We know they know what we are saying so when something completely comes out of let field with no explanation it just feels bad. Like with the time gated rewards we were talking about the other day. It's not a bad system, it just feels bad.
