What are your opinions on the balancing info for Photon and Vox?

I was expecting Photon to be nerfed on defense, but I am glad Vox is staying the same as is.

Happy that both are staying the same. Photon is supposed to be an annoying defender but she has her counters so I didn’t expect a nerf. Also happy that LC is getting his second buff and the hint at NC was great

Fair to say that defenders will never be nerfed if Photon and Kindred didn’t get touched. Nerfing program only exists to tone down champs from an attacker standpoint and guard against another Hercules situation

yay another science champion buff when is already the best class in the game they really wanna put this class so hard above the other 5. Theres like way more champs from other classes that needs a buff instead of luke cage in my opinion especially since they are already buffing red guardian

I very much doubt science is the best class. Cosmic would like a word with you. Also, science for the longest time was the absolute worst class. It's nice to say that's no longer the case.

Science has more consistent top champs imo. Cosmic drops off way harder than science does, especially with the additions we’ve had this year with Hulk getting buffed, Cassie, Silk, and Photon

Also I’m getting destroyed with disagrees lmao. Are people this mad that photon is staying the same or did I say something wrong 😭

Disappointed with the Vox news. I love him, and offensively he's fantastic. They needed to remove the nullification damage though. There is no reason for it and it ruins him for incursions and basically any node where buffs are removed. He could be incredible for incursions but one boss with tranquility (very common) and he's screwed. Can't use him on defense since any basic mystic nukes him. Removing that one thing opens his usability and makes him a mid defender. Really unfortunate

In my case, Im actually glad photon isnt being nerfed. What many people dont realize (for BGs at least) is that a lot of people rank champions in order to never have to fight them. Hate korg? Take him to r3 and he will be banned 80-90% of the time. The interesting pitfall is that players who choose this route are themselves usually terrible at fighting them when the time comes. If your photon has been banned 99% of matches, you have no idea how to fight her at all. If you take the time to learn hard matchups like that you can usually add that person to tour deck at a much lower level (say 6 star r4 even) and find a good deal of success even if they have the higher rated defender. Photon, while annoying is completely predictable and not horrible to learn. Once you do? Congratulations, you can add one to your deck and one of two things becomes true:

1) your opponent bans her and you get to select from other champions you want more anyways

2) they dont and, more than likely, you are going to have the upper hand if it comes to you both having to take one on, regardless of the rarity she’s at

Take this as an opportunity to stomp anyone who ranked her to get out of playing against her

@Theholyplunger Vox was meant to be a pure attacker while Photon was meant to be a defender while still being good on attack. But pure attackers and pure defenders do exist (looking at you kindred)

They really needed to do something to open up Photon as a champ. Having her turn off willpower, remove Dex, and then also make her unable to miss or be blocked is frankly just too much. Everytime I go watch BG content she gets banned by anyone not running her in their deck. And the people who do run her dont like fighting her either! Something as simple as a way to take away her charges like Captain Marvel Movie *alone* would have been so incredibly nice. But instead we get stuck with her seemingly permanently. I dont agree with it in the slightest.

Happy with Vox news. I really want him as a 6 or 7 star. Everything I’ve played around with on my 4star has been so much fun!

In my opinion, the rebalance is intended to correct overpowered champions, regardless of attack or defense. Photon is by far the most overpowered champion to be released in 3 years. If she doesnt get nerfed then Kabam might as well forget about nerfing any other champs. Focus only on buffing champs. Very disappointing

If you still believe cosmic is the best class in almost "enormous" 2024 then your big slacking lol. Is not even all the broken science champions released this year, is when you factor in others from the previous years who are still up top like spot and titania. Is cool that science is really potent now but i think the game is riding on them too much, we need this same love for other classes

I agree with you, mostly. The main issue is a pure attacker, as you put it, who can't attack isn't a pure attacker. Herc, Claire, ghost, hit monkey, silk, sunspot, etc are all pure attackers. None of them are punished for what makes them pure attackers. It's one thing for the mystic class to dominate a cosmic, it's another for a lot of common nodes to also dominate vox. The mystic class still dominates vox if you remove the unavoidable damage from removing his buffs

Science is the class that falls off the hardest in a bad meta. No debuffs allowed, no science class.

My 6*r5 Ascended Photon and 7*r2 Vox survived the purge, we good. But why buff luke cage again? Makes no sense...

Luke cage relies on debuffs anyway, if the point was to counter that weakness within the class, why not choose someone like sentry instead (who isn't as reliant on debuffs, but also stinks)????
