New in-game option: See the original character's name in English

Hello. Following the release of Onslaught, I would like to suggest applying a new option to the game: viewing the character's original name in English. I explain.

As a Portuguese (and occasionally Spanish) MCOC player since almost the beginning of the game, I have encountered a serious problem of inconsistency in the translations of character names. Thus, Rogue is called "Vampira", which is the adaptation of the character's name in Brazil, while in Portugal she has always been known by the original. However, Daredevil and Wolverine maintain their original names, while in Brazil they are known as Demolidor and Glutão.

In addition to those mentioned, some of the characters who have seen their name translated or greatly changed in the Portuguese adaptations of the game are: Quicksilver (Mercúrio), Crossbones (Ossos Cruzados), Hawkeye (Falcão), Doctor Doom (Doutor Destino), Ghost Rider (Motoqueiro Fantasma)...

On the other hand, the character Carnage is called Masacre in Spanish and Carnificina in Portuguese. However, Massacre is the name of a different character (also present in the game).

The complication and inconsistency now rises with the arrival of Onslaught, which in Portuguese has been translated as Massacre. In this way, in MCOC in Portuguese we have Massacre and Massacre, with the logical confusion that there may be now and in the future in different events and in communication between players...

For all this, and with a growing list of characters, I think that an interesting new option that is easy to put into practice would be, in the game settings, a button: "Show original names of the characters" or "Show the characters in English." character names."

The Quicksilver / Mercúrio one is interesting, unless the origin of the Quicksilver character is indeed supposed to be inspired by the god Mercury (and associated planet) due to their speed, as opposed to the Liquid Metal substance / element.
If the translation is literal from how the substance mercury is sometimes referred to as “quick silver” due to it's material properties, then that is indeed a poor translation.

Hawkeye / Falcão is bad due to obviously the other character also called Falcon (like some other similar “duplicates” you mention). But I wonder if Hawks and Falcons, both falling under the same general category of bird, do not necessarily have such commonly known different names in other languages as they do in English ? So get boiled down to the same name.
And, even in English, often may not be as distinguishable between the 2, other than having 2 different names for a similar bird. (or if Hawk is a more broad term, which indeed includes Falcons as a specific type of Hawk, as well as different specific hawks such as Red-Tailed Hawk, etc, just not always including the work “hawk” in their name).

And that's the reason why I set the language game to english even though my first language is spanish. I hate so much reading "Motorista Fantasma" instead Ghost Rider and many other character names.

Indeed @SummonerNR , the translation of Marvel comics into different languages in some cases has an imaginative solution. In Quicksilver yes, I think it has definitely played with classic mythology. And as in other translations or creative adaptations, they have screwed up, since in the Marvel universe there already exists a Mercurio (Mercurio the 4-D Man).

I had forgotten to comment on the paradox of the game having Falcão and Falcon. It also happens that the direct translation of Hawkeye would be Olho de Falcão (like spanish translation Ojo de Halcón) and the game only says Falcão, when the character is known in Brazil as Gavião Arqueiro (literally Sparrowhawk Archer).

An unsatisfactory solution for non-English speaking players would be to put the game in English, but it is not worth keeping the original names if this means we have difficulty following the instructions and mission requirements, reading the descriptions of skills and nodes, etc.

For all this, I think that a new option in the game settings that is just that, showing the original names of the characters, could be a more than satisfactory and well-received solution.

Just checked and theres no way they just used the name character in english for that, that was just pure laziness
