So as I was playing the new event quest It was stated in chapter 2 part 1 that the collector had an old regime of 12 champions, as he stated 9 of them had perished due to the fury of sentry/void and only 3 survived-Moon knight, Thor and Hyperion assuming this is this is true this must mean that on the 2018 puzzle of unknown champions the 4 unnamed champions besides void who is the obvious connection with sentry must be apart of the old regime that were told to be dead by the collector assuming we find out the rest of the people in the old regime can help us know probably some of the upcoming champions in the game and a little more lore about the contest in a whole. If you see any flaw in what i said feel free to point it out and don't hesitate to add on to the theory if you feel it need be

    No there was a bit more than just 12 champions (in the full game not sure about beta) I started playing in early 2015 and there was probably more like 30-40 champs early on

    This is really all about the lore of the game. The Contest of Champions, in game, existed long before you, the summoner, did. When MCOC came out sure there were more than 12 champions in game. They refer to from the BEGINNING, not as in the very first champions you could play, but from the VERY BEGINNING of the Contest of Champions. From a time that you, the Summoner, did not exist.

    The story for this event took an unexpectedly dark turn and wasn’t ready lol. Anyone got ideas on who the othe 8 champs were? I’m guessing Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, OG Black Panther, Black Widow, Wolverine, Cyclops NXS, Iron Man, Starlord

    Wow. That list was very, very wrong.

    The first Arena was Captain Marvel, then Captain America. Deadpool was only available through purchase.

    I think that the 8 “dead” champs, may well be still in the contest today. I mean the whole premise is that the champions are from alternate realities right? That’s how we can have black panther civil war and original. And how we can have 5* ghost rider and 4* ghost rider.
