At what point in the game are 5* no longer really viable?

I am at the point where I am getting 6* more frequently but I also have a LOT of untouched 5*.

Hard to say not knowing where you’re at. But say, a 5* Hercules will carry you a long way. But the main approach should be 6* over 5*. But it’s really champ dependant. A 6* Groot won’t help you, but a 5* Quake will.

I only leveled up 5* hercules, Claire, nick and torch, everything else is untouched
Those were enough to progress and start getting 6* and 7*

I am still in act 6 so I know I have a bit before I hit whatever point it may be but I was really just curious in general where that point would be.

My alt that I am pushing to be valiant without being TB or Paragon has a lot more use out of 5*s than 6*s because combat power rate is based on the rank of your champions. So a r5 5* gets a bar of power much quicker than a r1 or r2 6*. They will only be obsolete for that account once I have plenty of 7*s to cover all the rpg asks in content.

Depends on what part of the game you're talking about. 5s work fine in the arena. For monthly quest, a 5* champ that is optimal for the nodes can outperform 6s that are not. But really, it is less about when 5* champs become moot, and more when 6* champs become plentiful enough in your roster, and your acquisition of 6* and 7* shards becomes fast enough that you're getting a fast steady stream of new 6s and 7s to where you should focus on them because there will usually be a better 6* or 7* rank up option than your 5s.
