Cavalier omega crystals timer

I have 33 unopened cavalier omega crystals that have a 5 hr time limit on them. Does that mean they will disappear in 5 hrs and I need to open them now or it's just a timer for the option to buy them?

    To buy them. The event also ends in 5 hours so you won’t get any points or benefit in holding and opening them later.

    I already have max points in alpha event so I wanted to save them for when I needed iso cause I have tons of iso expiring currently.
