I just finished 6.1.4. and want to push for 6.1.6... I'm not the most skilled player and rely on champions to pull me 40% of the way... I have a really good 5* roster... However no one gr8 is at rank 5... I'm having trouble finding gold to rank up champions... Where's the best place to get gold... Also when should I start variants and what's the easiest won

    There is no need to do variants, they are too difficult with rewards not being that good today. On good option for gold is incursions, another one is doing alliance quests to get glory and exchange for gold crystals, and also trader outpost.
    There is also BG where you can get 6 and 7 star shards to get your 7* champions.
    What does your roster looks like?

    I would suggest continuing to do story content and ignore variants. The variants only give you 5* rewards, but story content will quickly give you 6*s. I suggest buying all the gold in the traders outpost by doing the side quest to get mysterium.

    Continue act 6 and try to push if you have the right counters.
