So I got this guy from the titan, twice, back to back.. I really like him and it may be an unpopular opinion but I think he's so close to being one of the best science champs in the game..
I want to use this guy more, he's so unique and his design is flawless imo, but a couple of points I reckon will take this dude right up..
Have his door open a tad faster
Keep it open a bit longer
Have his debuffs last a bit longer (the steadfast is just shy of lasting on my war path and has been abit unreliable)
And last but definitely not least, have his furies be relevant, he stilll kinda just tickles em and mines at R2...
But yeah, design and animation wise, one of favourites this year..

    I did the science eq path (poison immunity gives you furies) with over seer , Joe and this guy. All r1 unduped. Joe and overseer did each fight in 1 min, while this guy took 90 secs lol. Both are year old champs

    He’s got easy access to different utility than those two options so that’s really not terrible. If they would buff his damage a bit to get him to 1:15 when those options are 1:00 he’d be solid. If he was as fast as those two with all of his easy utility he’d be closer to the top.

    Now THATS something they have to give him, if the opponent stands on the green door, they will be rooted for the duration of the special attack!

    I agree on the fact that he is a cool champ. Him and arcade have cool, fun and interactive utility/animations but they still need buffs in my opinion. I love both champs but struggle to see why I would choose them over a plethora of champs.

    There’s a chance Arcade may get an Attuma style tune up where both his offensive and defensive potential is increased

    I mean I went to sp3 rotation and tried to stay within the door. Even the green door ain't doing much damage and I felt like its not worth dancing around the door when the payoff is poor. He definitely need a damage buff.

    Each utility, is solid, but anywhere you want the regen/power reversal, like any quest/everest boss, the most likely make the boss immune to regen and power reversal. Lol.

    I agree on the patriot comments too, I have an R5 Ascended at sig 200.. he does turn photon into ABIT of a potato, but he still takes a mad amount of block damage.. he needs love too..
    But the root when using specials as leader, is an absolute blinder of a suggestion

    I'm having a blast with him personally. Sure other champs could finish a fight faster but considering how sustainable he can be with inequity I'm having a lot of fun. Helps that he's probably my favourite comic villain and his kit is built around the best marvel run of the last 20 years at least haha.

    Definitely agree that he could root the opponent if they're over the door during specials, and wouldn't say no to maybe some increased combat power rate when on the door.

    I have a r2 patriot and leader as 7*. I enjoy leader more than patriot and will r3 leader. Hoping I can dupe him. He might not be the fastest. But he destroys what he was made for. Power gain / regen matchups

    If they have regen, usually go for sp1. If they have power gain, use sp2

    I’d really only bring him to deal with regen or power gain so I’d be more likely to throw the sp1 or sp2 depending on which one I’m dealing with. Throwing either one and having it push the defender halfway across the field and way off the door makes it less useful. A root to get some extra damage from the door would be a good damage bump without being crazy.

    I don’t see him ever being a go-to science champ. He’d need a significant damage bump for that. You’ve got Hulk and Titania and Silk and Scorpion and Spider Ham and others if you just need a strong science champ. If you want/need to punish regen or power gain, he’s got the kit to do it but he’s not fast enough to be worth it right now. It’s fun watching him melt a Hyperion with his sp2 sometimes but in general so far he doesn’t seem to do what he does well enough or fast enough to be my first choice.

    My 7* is at R2 and will be staying there unless we start seeing a lot of power gain and/or regen that can be reversed and even then I don’t know that he’d be worth the R3. Lately we keep getting that node that says regen can’t be reversed so he’s even more limited.

    He’s not terrible, he’s just got a niche (power gain/regen matchups) and he’s not doing his thing well enough to make him worth the resources in a crowded science class for me.

    Patriot on the other hand, I’ve found no use for yet. Mine is staying at 7*R1 and I’m hoping for a big rebalance improvement but I haven’t used him enough to even suggest something to help him.

    His utility is for champs we hardly see nowadays not alot of power gain or regen heavy defenders and already to many counters to these. And to add to it mid damage and mid defensive use there’s nothing but a few fights leader is good for horribly designed on kabam end

    Duped mine from Titan last night.

    If I didn’t already have all of the top tier Science 7*’s, I might find him useful. He’s not nearly as bad as advertised, but he’s also not nearly the class of Science champs. Duped Void, high sig Nefaria, Titania, Hulk, Photon, Silk, Ham even 6*’s like Scorpion and SM2099 are champs I reach for before I’d reach for Leader. For me, that’s the issue in a nutshell—he’s pretty good what he does, but there are others better.
