Oh yeah, it’s all coming together now! Still not as productive as I wanted to be but the 6 star pulls today was absolutely HUGE.
Starting from 7.4.1, the paths today was pretty easy:
7.4.1 - 0 revives, hulkbuster crushed the Guilly boss
7.4.2 - 0 revives, sabretooth boss in this quest is really easy, just slow and steady
7.4.3 - 1 revive, onslaught worked well for hubris purgatory boss
7.4.4 - 0 revives, Mojo boss nearly took out my whole team but I pulled through 😅
7.4.5 - 2 revives, killmonger boss was pretty annoying, that knockdown cruelty is no joke
7.4.6 - 0 revives, yeah I was very happy with this. Punisher 99 did the first 2 phases of Kang, Hyperion did the 3rd, and hulkbuster did the 4th. Really easy fight for my team
Then came the big pulls. The 6 star nexus from act 7 completion was trash, but the 6 star basics were not. Photon is an instant rankup as she’s an upgrade to an already heavy hitter for me. Starky could be a future investment when 6 star awakening gems and sigs become easier near end of act 8. Overall so so happy, my luck is turning.
I rushed straight into act 8 as I find act 8 easier than 7 for the most part:
8.1.1 - 0 revives, weapon node giving 400% sp2 damage is very fun
8.1.2 - 0 revives, another weapon node, this time for heavy attacks
8.1.3 - 0 revives, weapon node for 800% block damage is broken good
8.1.4 - new r3 photon destroyed the science path
And that’s where I’m up to. Tonight though I plan to go hard. I’m streaming act 8 push with a minimum goal of cerastes (8.3) and a hopeful goal of glykhan going down.
Need to speed up to stay ahead in the race, Nick is currently doing act 9 100% but is on day 12 👀
Very successful push! Managed to make it all the way to 8.4.2, putting me in a good spot to complete 9.1 on day 9.
Quests 8.1.5 to 8.2.3 was done on stream (some tech issues and general tiredness), mostly successful having to use a couple revives as I went. I also pulled doctor doom from 8.1 rewards, so he went straight to rank 3.
Then after I slept I pushed some more:
8.2.4 - 0 revives, weapon node on the right hand side is very broken for photon, gives her instant ramp
8.2.5 - 3 revives, no real good paths for me here, went with the whittle down path
8.2.6 - 1 team revive, bahamet wasn’t too horrible, just a very slow fight as he always is. Took me over 40 minutes to kill 😂
The rewards for that slog was INSANE. 6 star cgr and onslaught was not what I was expecting, but it has given me a very good necro option. He will be going all the way to rank 5 ascended after 8.4 (tonight).
I then carried on into 8.3, which would prove to be interesting with only relics in 2 classes:
8.3.1 - 0 revives, outside lane starting with nightthrasher isn’t too bad, and omega sentinel boss can be done with any champ
8.3.2 - 2 revives, tech lane on the left is easy apart from having to use lvl 1 overseer for ibom, that wasn’t fun
8.3.3 - 0 revives, tech lane on the right was easy as I have relics in that class
8.3.4 - 0 revives, thing boss is really easy here with onslaught
8.3.5 - 1 revive, mystic lane was really easy with doom as I had increased power steal, allowed me to cycle sp1 and sp3
8.3.6 - 2 revives, cerastes proved to be a bit annoying due to my minimal relics, but punisher and hulkbuster combo eventually got through him. 16 mins compared to the usual 5-8 mins on a new account of the past.
8.3 rewards was pretty decent and interesting. From the nexus I was able to dupe doom which is a nice little bonus for power gain paths, and my first 7 star was peni parker! Someone I don’t even have on my main 😂. I do like her as a champ, unique play style and really tanky, and she is instantly at rank 4 level.
Overall a very diverse team, with very meta champions but some unique ones too. Hopefully I will be able to push through 8.4 and 9.1 tonight to set myself up for exploration on day 10, then necro day 11 to finish the challenge!
Video uploads for today, bahamet and cerastes boss (soooooooo long):
First of all, massive congrats to Nick136 on completing his run today, getting valiant in 14 days. Incredible achievement that shouldn’t go unnoticed, everyone who hasn’t already go sub to him and watch his run.
Now, moving on to probably the biggest day so far in terms of moments.
So we started with 8.4, which turned out to be easier than expected, and I got a near solo with doom on glykhan (used onslaught first). In total I used around 6 revives and 1 team revive, much cheaper than expected which is good.
Then the 8.4 rewards happened … and I’m gonna be the most hated person on the planet cause KATE IS BACK BABY!!! 6 star nexus pulled in the ultimate necro counter, so the plan from there was very obvious.
Take Kate to r6. Do 9.1 exploration with her heavy carrying. Do necro path 3 (Titania path). Valiant easy mode.
Kate has essentially simplified the whole challenge. I would have still been fine if she didn’t appear, but now it’s just an instant win as long as I actually play the game decently the next 2 days. A day 11 finish is pretty much in my grasp.
Then I moved into 9.1 completion off stream, which was a slog cause of the health pools but not revive intensive so far:
9.1.1 - 0 revives, I took half of the scourge path and then half the mutant lane as the damage was pretty high. Surfer boss easy with doom
9.1.2 - 0 revives, I took the scourge lane again and then the storm X boss with peni, easy solo
9.1.3 - 0 revives, the skill lane was really easy apart from the Morningstar, who I had to use onslaught for as he’s bleed resistant. Overseer boss destroyed by Kate
9.1.4 - 2 revives, I took the scourge lane as Kate can shutdown the evade. Wasp was very annoying to get ramped up on though so cost a bit. Lady deathstrike boss wasn’t too bad
9.1.5 - 1 revive, the tech lane is very generic and can be done with anyone, kraven boss is a similar story
9.1.6 - 3 team revives (kind of), the she hulk lane was pretty simple with Kate, but orochi was being very annoying with onslaught. I just couldn’t get the rotation down so spent a couple team revives to revive both my onslaughts at once as I have lots of them still. She eventually went down though.
9.1 rewards gave me a dupe on my crossbones, so he’s likely going to r3 unless a better pull comes from exploration.
I don’t think exploration will be too horrible, a couple hard paths (tech shock lane iceman for example), but some easy paths will balance it out. Sadly I will not be able to stream it as I’ll be in and out all day, so there will only be a day 11 finale stream.
This is the plan:
Day 10 - explore all but 1 9.1 paths (leave an orochi path)
Day 11 - complete final 9.1 path, open rewards, get 1st r3, complete necro, 2nd r3, valiant
Well everyone it’s time for the final write up! I’m gonna split it into 2 main parts, day 10/11 recap and then my final thoughts about how it went.
Firstly though, a big shoutout to Nick136 once again for beating my initial 16 day record, clocking in at 14 days. Great achievement that shouldn’t be overshadowed.
Now, Day 10/11 Recap!
Day 10 was spent exploring 9.1, and it was an absolute grind. Some quests was especially annoying as I didn’t have a cosmic champ, leading to some creative solutions.
9.1.1
Rocket lane - pretty annoying as I had no cosmic, just had to take the plasma damage as little as possible, a couple revives needed
Squirrel girl lane - pretty easy lane overall, having r6 Kate and r4 doom was starting to make it a lot easier and more of a time slog on some lanes
Hulk and Longshot bosses both was pretty simple, crossbones and photon destroyed them
9.1.2
Tigra lane - any champ was usable here, with photon being a bit more juiced, easy lane
King groot lane - relatively easy with doom, mostly just doom cycle until they die
Jabari boss was pretty annoying as she can fail my Dex on my low health champs, but silver centurion was an easy solo as doom is shock immune
9.1.3
Shang chi lane - this is one of the worst lanes in 9.1, but thanks to kate I was able to ignore most nodes when ramped
Luke cage lane - apart from Morningstar, this is an easy kate lane, I had to use onslaught for Morningstar which was an absolute slog as I had 25% damage
2 simple bosses again, peni was good for Sauron and the galan boss can be doom cycled
9.1.4
Cap America lane - Kate shut down the evade scourge node, simplifying this a lot
Nebula lane - another lane with evade, so Kate just shut it down straight away, probably the easiest quest overall
The Claire boss is one of the roughest in 9.1, but Kate is just about able to pull through if you play well. Vox boss was a joke with doom, remove the nullify immunity node with an intercept and then you do 5% on each hit of your sp1.
9.1.5
Champion lane - Doom cycle lane apart from the red skull, who I used Kate for
Iron patriot lane - took a couple revives with photon as you need to be aggressive with your intercepts, but I had lots of revives to spare
Shocker was a pretty tough boss and cost me a couple revives, but the sandman boss was an easy solo with Kate
9.1.6
Air walker lane - very annoying lane, that unstoppable does not feel like a 1% chance per charge 😂
Adam lane - doom and Kate ran through this lane pretty easily, Kate was actually better for most fights
Both orochi fights was using onslaught, took me a couple revives each time but I knew I had lots to spare at this point so didn’t mind
9.1 rewards is mostly guaranteed catalysts and gems, so wasn’t much to open here. I took peni to r2 lvl 35, and planned to r3 her after the necropolis.
I went straight into the necropolis after this, and decided to take path 3 (Titania into guardian). I decided on this team:
Kate (main champ) Doom Onslaught (for guardian) Peni Nick fury (+20% team attack when dead)
Overall it was a pretty smooth run, but I had to cut it in half due to feeling very tired. I knew I had time to finish within 11 days, so the splitting was worth it.
Titania - Kate solo Vision - Kate 1 revive Omega sentinel - 1 team revive, full team Air walker - Kate solo Cap Britain - Kate 1 revive Wiccan - Kate solo Psycho man - Kate solo
Guardian - onslaught, quite a few revives Valk - Kate, 4 revives Red guardian - Kate, 2 revives Cap Sam - Kate, 1 revive Dragon man - Kate solo Cap Iw - Kate solo Nova - Kate 1 revive
Grandmaster - full team, 2 team revives
I still had around 30 revives and 20 team revives after the run, so I was nowhere near running out of resources
Necro rewards gave me a 2-3 cosmic gem, and from my cosmic crystals I had the options of gamora, Red goblin and VTD. Insta gamora r3.
However there was an issue. I had 0 iso and also 0 t5 tech catalysts for peni r3. I had 2200 units, but if I was to buy everything straight up, I would have needed about 4000 units. So I had to do some laps round the game to collect some stuff:
Side quest 2 paths - mysterium for 1 t5cc and 30 t6 iso
Glory store - 2 t5cc and 8 t4cc to sell for fragments
T4cc trade in store - got me 5 more t4cc tech to sell
T4cc crystals - 2 more tech
Bgs store - 50% t5cc
By doing all of this, I managed to reduce the amount of units needed to … 2100 units. Just enough! So I bought all the stuff using units and challenge complete!
So now onto my closing thoughts for the challenge as a whole. I’m gonna do the same as last time, splitting it into what was good and bad.
THE GOOD
Change of energy cap - great adjustment for new accounts, starting with 45 energy and reaching 70 energy at lvl 26 is really incredible. Cuts down on energy refills needed so much
Increased iso - WOW this was an amazing change. So much iso has been added to act 1-3 rewards, making it so much better for new accounts as they can rank and try multiple champs. Helped me a ton due to my terrible initial 6 star luck, as I could rank more 4 and 5 stars to higher ranks.
9.1 exploration vs crucible - so much easier to do than the crucible. Crucible nearly broke the last run due to its need for so many champions, meanwhile for 9.1 I could cycle the same 7 champs when needed
THE BAD
Initial 6 star luck - my initial 6 star luck was horrendous, and slowed me down quite a bit as I had to use my 5 and 4 stars for longer than I really wanted
6.1 - my roster was not good for this chapter of act 6. It was really painful, and the difficulty jump from act 5 to act 6 is still insanely large
As a whole, this challenge was a very very good run. Not perfect, cause no run ever will be, but heavily on the good side. I want to thank everyone again for supporting my stupid ideas 😂. The record has been taken back, and I don’t see it being beaten for a very long time so I can sit back and relax.
Also I wanna say W Kabam for updating the early game again to add additional iso and gold, as well as the increase to initial energy caps. It shows that they do care about the start of the game and how people progress, whether it be at a normal pace or a supercharged pace that I do.
If anyone has any additional questions, feel free to ask, but that’s all my thoughts out about this challenge!
