Another flawed update

How can this keep happening? After possibly(and maybe definitely) the largest money maker in the 10 year history of the game, the latest update is bug ridden. The response is they hope to have it fixed in 10+ days. Utterly ridiculous.

While I understand that there is a certain skill level required to code and develop, this broken content should never see the light of day with appropriate testing. Why does this keep occurring? Why does it feel like this community is the only ones doing beta testing? I can only speak for myself but I would certainly prefer less content be pushed out as long it comes out free of issues.

10 years of the game (9+ missed that damn vet profile by weeks) taught me that I should never update on release and enjoy 1 or 2 days of last months bugs.

But for the majority of issues, they don't get hot fixed right away anyways.

So I don't *really* see any difference between updating today, or updating in two days, or updating when you're forced to.

I agree the level of bugs in content releases is if anything increasing lately, however, this isn't the first time I've played a game that has gone through such a phase, it isn't common but also isn't unique, and your options for dealing with it are strictly limited. You can't ask the devs to make less content: content schedules are intimately tied to long term operational timelines that involve development cycles, revenue cycles, and other vendor, partnership, and licensing terms. You can ask, the answer will be no, and that will be the end of the discussion. You can ask them to try harder, but if they are trying as hard as they can this will have no effect, and if they aren't they are also unlikely to listen to the recommendation either.

The only way you can affect the situation in any positive way is to a) make good actionable bug reports and b) do nothing else that will take up the developers' time.

The question is why would they (Netmarble)? Let's say you're a producer at Kabam and you tell your Netmarble masters you need an FTE to improve the quality of the content, because doing so will make the players happier and generate more revenue to justify that expense, what happens when they say ok, give you the FTE, and then don't see that promised revenue? My suspicion is they are going to conclude that perhaps the problem is one too many producers.

Netmarble is likely to only want to invest money in things with some measureable return on investment: after all MCOC itself is an investment they paid for, not a game they built and nurtured. And by extension, Kabam only wants to ask for resources they can justify, because every time they ask for something that turns out to not produce the results they promise that's all that much less likely Netmarble is going to listen to them the next time.

A business analyst once told me if you spend more money and generate the exact same revenue, your superiors will start to speculate on what will happen if they gave you less money instead.

So taking this to its end, because things like banquet went bonkers with people dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars, there is zero interest in quality control. Screw the day to day game experience…it’s unimportant. Maybe Juggs will be fixed by spring cleaning. There is no profit in fixing him or any other bug quickly

Is your question why would a company invest to make things better?.….
I mean we are not talking about a crazy ammount.
You are right on the part of spending more money and getting back the same or less, the game is far from its peak years; but no investment to make it better or new would mean putting the same ammount of money just to watch it die within time.
Its really a hard conversation to have in an open forum. The onky thing I can say without criticism turning personal is that we saw the lost of some people and the aftermath.

I think Feb would be more stable since team would be back now. Due to holidays, they didn't fix Dec bugs for Jan Update and in Jan Update, they added even more bugs and anyways they don't have qa or do uat. I suppose it's all due to tweaking textures for pc version.

The net of your statement is that nothing can be done, so just deal with it? Continued success coupled with incompetence is not sustainable. What a horrible long term business decision.

I used to really appreciate your thoughtful responses, but the descent into Stockholm Syndrome is concerning.
