Is Heal Sponge Baphomet bugged?

So I'm trying to 100% 8.2.6 and I'm fighting Baphomet under the heal sponge node. So if you have willpower, he heals 1000% of the damage you heal HOWEVER the node states he cannot heal above his current phase threshold. I'm getting him down 10% which is phase 4 (1-10%) and he ends up healing all the way to 30%.

On top of that, the phase is still that ping-pong parry however after a few rallies I'll parry and it'll end up disappearing without his armor reducing, so I don't even know what phase he ends up being in so I think that's broken.

    It’s a bug or error in the description and has been since release. He heals above the threshold but doesn’t transition to the previous phase - unless/until you die. Then going back in he will be in the corresponding phase to his health.

    I appreciate it, thank you. Maybe I was missing the parry but it's strange because I wasn't getting knocked down. Shame how they haven't bothered fixing it.
