    The question is how many essences can wet get as ftp (assuming that we only reach GC on BGs and that we only get 1 essence).

    Then we could know how many essences must be purchased, the real price of the champion, and the amount of time that we can wait to see how is and purchase essences in weekly offers.

    Personally i wont buy it but is quite interesting to know how many essences i will need to complete 12 and if i could get then in the future like missing deathless pices.

    They said that it will be free to play but most players will have to spend money.

    If it's full f2p then:
    Ordeal – 1 Essence
    Dark Phoenix Saga Incursions – 1
    Deathless aw showcase – 1
    Reach the Gladiator Circuit in Battleground Season 27, 28 – 1 Essence each. Total 2 (well and if you finish in Celestial, you will get a few more)
    Defeating the final boss in Raids/Nightmare Raids – 1 Essence each. Total 3
    I don't think reaching first place in the Featured Hero Arena counts as f2p, so we don't count the Essence from there. We also don't count 1 Essence from Platinum Pass in Double Track.
    In total f2p can get 8 Essences.

    So we can say than the next Eidol will cost 40$ for the majority. Thanks for the explanation.

    As I say before, it would be interesting if we will be able to get another 4 essences without paying money (with units or doing different goals) in the future or the new Eidol will be like a tropy champ.
