Im probably going to write way too much and go into way more detail than needed, while most questions can likely be answered by letting us know which 52 champions you intend to release to the community.

I have been fervently collecting 2☆ champs for over 10 years. Historically they have been the most difficult and paywalled rarity in the game. Die hard collectors like USAFA, Fintech, and myself as im sure many of the other collectors were shaken by this announcement. You updated the 2☆ collector crystal roster last year which was amazing. I think I dropped about 36,000 units on that release alone.

These 52 champs, are they part of the original PHC (premium hero crystal) base pool? Or are they an amalgamation of those and the 2☆s that used to be given as part of the old Marvel Insider program?

If these 52 champions have been exclusive to the 2☆ collector crystal, or the monthly 2☆ featured crystals (the name changes each month) or any other exclusive 2☆ that would have otherwise needed units+RNG to obtain, then this is a wildly hurtful move against those that have invested tens, if not hundreds of thousands of units into obtaining 2☆ champions.

I know most people do not care, but some of the biggest and most loyal players (not to mention spenders) would be deeply insulted our hard invested units and money were nullified. Someone who tirelessly grinds arena would certainly be slighted if suddenly everyone just got a free batch of 50,000,000 battlechips and didnt in any have any kind of compensation or recompense.

Are the 52 champions going to be removed from those that didnt own them previpusly once the arena is over?

Can you add 2* collector nexus crystals into the milestones? Is there anything you can do to show any kind of appreciation or recognition to loyal players who already collect the 2☆ champions?

Again, perhaps it is just the PHC pool and im getting ahead of myself. Us collectors will wait to see the roster or hear from a response here, but if it turns out to be champions we invested heavily to obtain, it would be a real shame...

I literally dropped 3,000 units the other day on a single pumpkin jack. I know the commenters will likely not receive this post well, and simply tell me im an idiot for dumping units for a 2☆, to each their own. But there are collectors out there, which is decent revenue driver, and it seems everything related to collection and tracking and leaderboards or anything to provide any kind of recognition or reward to a collector continues to fall on deaf ears...


Please kabam, do right by this event.

    Have they said the champs are being given to people permanently or just able to be used for the event?

    They didn't specifify, giving and removing seems like a chore logistically, especially for people that already have the champs they'd have to remove sigs, or max sig crystals. I doubt it is temporary, but it is part of my question to understand.

    They said already in another thread that they still have ways to go before they can reveal more details. When the launch date gets closer then they’ll announce more of the detail — most likely in a stream.

    Also based on a guess, i’ll say what’s most likely to happen is that the pool of 2* will be separate from your existing one. I assume it’s gonna be like how some people were asking for bg to be preset decks, all of the same rarity and rank.

    I missed that post, I was going based on today's stream. I hope they are having all these considerations. I feel like half the kabam team hasn't been around long enough to even know about the marvel insider program lol. Progression is so fast tracked now and employees are so young I just feel like these considerations aren't even making it to the discussion table half the time.

    If that's what they are gonna do for Arena, then they'll know whether that method works. And YES, Common/Preset BG Decks for everyone. Same Star/Rank. Just your Masteries would differ, and your Skill at Drafting and Using them.

    Maybe they can try that out in BG during an OFF-SEASON, and see what the reception is.

    (or even do either alternating seasons, or Dual-Track BG's, separate from Victory/G.C. Pair. Let the big dogs have the G.C. if they want to do that one, while there could be a separate Top Track for the “Common/Preset” BG Deck Track fights.)

    Thats impossible. Collectors have nearly every, if not every single 2☆. Thats kinda the point and spirit of this post.

    Can't wait to see the update @KabamPinwheel . Hope all considerations and respect will be given to the community that has already worked so hard to collect these champions

    I guess I understand your objection from an emotional standpoint, but rationally speaking, you have already invested an ungodly amount of units in champs that have no actual value in the game. You did it for personal reasons, which we can’t fathom. But they are personal to you. So why would you care if other people get the meaningless champs for free?

    It really comes down to - what if something you worked very, very hard for became meaningless and given for free?

    What if they came out with a chase trophy champ that was the meta top best champ in the game, and they sold him for 36,000 units. What if you worked overtime for a month to afford it. Then a week after you buy him, they give them in an email to all new players that sign up in the next two weeks.

    It is less about how "useful" a thing is. No, they won't help in bgs, no they won't help in act 9, or necro or epoch. But, they are something kabam put a price on, a very, very high price on, regardless of its "meta usefulness" they made us pay for it if we wanted to have it. No, they didn't hold a gun to our head and force us to buy it, but they told us if you want it, you gotta pay for it. Now (potentially) they are just handing it out. Surely you can see how that would be frustrating for anyone that collected it.

    Some of the top players in the game are aligned in this.

    Yeah, no. You invested resources for something that has no competitive value. It’s not the same as Kabam suddenly giving away a meta champ, which would impact the competitive balance of the game. I’m not saying it’s not irritating to collectors, I’m just saying it doesn’t matter.

    Probably all moot anyway. Go check out the stream. They used a very specific word (which I can’t recall) to describe the two-star component of the event. My impression is that it’s a temporary loan of champs that’ll disappear when the event ends…

    If could well be that there is a fix pool of 52 champs to be used.

    And there will be a crystal sold or earned through gameplay and pops them up.

    So if I don't have those 52, I either manage with an inferior deck or use some units to get those champs.

    I get your worry here, I'm a 2* collector myself, albeit probably not as big of one as you are.

    All I will can say is: I am not currently concerned about this particular issue, although I understand why many collectors might be. It is a reasonable concern. However, I happen to not be.

    Take that for whatever it is worth.

    I don't know what the details we have been given so far on the 2* event are. Can anyone say if we need to be ranking our existing 2* roster up now in advance of whatever the event is?
