You're missing the point. The point is if you take it upon yourself to come up with a workaround for the rules, you're the one that is responsible if it goes udders up.
You know what we will never agree on anything and its not based on my "work around" its based on your infatuation with the company itself. I can defend them some and I can be critical, you I have never seen you be critical on something relevant. If you love and care about the game and company so much, you should be more worried about this issue than I am. Losing the android market in China is not something that won't impact the quality of the game in the future
I care about the game, and I sympathize with the people affected. What I won't do is abandon logic.
Tell me the logic of accepting someone's money and then telling them too bad you shouldn't even have been here to give me the money in the first place.
I care about the game, and I sympathize with the people affected. What I won't do is abandon logic.
It a bit of bad state atm because there could be be people who just download the game from APK. (Android package kit). Where the game haven’t ben altered. But kabam can’t se it and yes against the TOS. But honestly. I’m much rather having them to look in to individual. Person and check if there done anything. And if not I’m would have them giv them compensation for the Daily stuff there lost in the main time. My thoughts behind it but I hate having this one is handled it shouldn’t had ben done one the weekend is just a bad thing to do.
I care about the game, and I sympathize with the people affected. What I won't do is abandon logic.
Tell me the logic of accepting someone's money and then telling them too bad you shouldn't even have been here to give me the money in the first place.
So question do you believe that ppl shouldnt be held accountable for their actions you really feel the whole blame falls on kabam because that is what it sounds like i get it it sucks that the players in mainland china dont have a legit way to get the game correctly that use android phones and yes ethically with the money issue you have it is not right but kabam sends out warning atleast every few months in game not to use 3rd party also what if kabam just sent those ppl an in game warning you think at the end of that 7 days anything would be different for them no it wouldnt and kabam never forced those players that spent that money in the game it is obvious kabam made a decision that wasnt easy you want them to just abandon the fight on cheaters just so they can continue playing the game or is your thought process to just let that region use 3rd party to play the game but everyone else cant cause that would be a big slippery slope right there
No one is refunded money from all these years. That's how the game has always worked. As for your assertion, those are your words, not theirs. They have no control over whether people download the game through other methods, but they certainly have the right to enforce it if they detect it through different screening methods.
I never said they didn't have a right, but its unethical to sell a product or service that you know people shouldn't have access to it and then tell them "Oh well you were not allowed to have access to it in the first place" You are going to tell me they just found out after 10 years that MCoC was unavailable for regular download in China? That the game had to be "sideloaded"? They never saw screenshots of that weird screen that actually asked for a government issue ID? Cause I have and I don't even work for Kabam. This is not just about the ban, this is about potential 10 years of people buying stuff from Kabam and now being told they have no access to it because even after the suspension they won't have a way to access the game. Unless they find a way to officially give them access.
You're assuming they knew people were installing it illegitimately, overlooked it, and now pulled the rug out from under them. There is zero evidence that Kabam has encouraged this behavior.
You can't be serious to tell me they didn't know for 10 years that China has a ban on google store rofl come on dude.
Did Kabam encourage Chinese players to skirt that?
Then Kabam should ban all Android players from China, they all downloaded from somewhere else, why it is so hard for you guys to admit this big-beautiful anti-cheater system is totally a mistake?
I believe in Kabam being accountable for what they’re accountable for. Someone else's choice to install the game through unsupported means is not their fault.
Nah, applying a wrong/lazy "technology" that caused unintended consequence is not accountable.
That is not an unintended consequence if the Google Play Store is the only officially-approved method of installation and game play, and China has banned the Google Play Store since 2010. That's out of Kabam's control.
They shouldn't have taken their money then, even worse take money from the webstore. They have absolute control over that. And don't tell me its xsolla, its a 3rd party. They can tell them to not process transactions from financial institutions in certain regions.
You're making accusations here, and you're not helping the situation. The onus is on the people who installed it erroneously. Not Kabam. I don't know what kind of hero you think you're being here, but people don't ever get the money back they put into the game. This isn't any different.
If I am making accusations I don't know why you are getting so riled up, You don't work for Kabam therefore I am not accusing you. This post is full of accusations, why is mine worth your time? Cause it actually makes sense? Lets say I am accusing Kabam, am I accusing them of doing something illegal? The answer is no, I am accusing them of doing something unethical.
I'm not getting riled up at all, aside from the fact that you're misplacing the onus and your expectations are not logical. You're blaming Kabam because they didn't screen every transaction and block any from Andorid in China. That's ridiculous. It's also avoiding the real problem. If people weren't legally allowed to install it through Play Store, the responsibility is theirs if they circumnavigate that.
No see I will invite you to think a little bit further. What happens with the players that spent money AFTER the 7 day suspension? This was not announced, people wouldn't have spent money on Xmas, HoF, buying pre release bundles, double tracks and the infinite ammount of things people spend on this game if they would have told people that in June anybody sideloading the game would be restricted access. So is this a "rug pull"? It absolutely is for some people.
You're going further and further into conspiracy territory I'm afraid.
What conspiracy? Its a fact. If you buy membership to a gym and it closes down 3 days later you either get your money back or believe you got completely screwed. You think their sales from China would bave been the same if they announced that they won't be able to access the game from June? The only reason why I keep on this conversation with you at this point is cause it allows me to make you look more stupid by the second tbh.
You really need to read the ToS concerning spending.
Quote it, take a screenshot, show me instead of pretending knowledge by being vague.
You want to make accusations and claims, do your own research. That's on you. Not me. You don't own any aspect of your account. We don't purchase for ownership. We lease permission to access aspects of their product and they reserve the right to end that in the case of any violation of ToS. Anyone playing the game should be aware of that. We lose our money when we spend it. It's not a lasting investment.
So if he wants to make accusations it's on him to show any proof. But if Kabam accuses me of usind 3rd party app they do not need to show any proofs. Feels a little double standards to me.
kabam consistency on bans and punishments has always been inconsistent, banning years after a crime is ben done and sometimes not even banning at all. no warning but just a generic don't do this everyone message every couple of months, changing tos. it's this same kabam that banned some content creators last year alongside cheaters, there's no way i'd trust their new system with being consistent with their track record
There are hundreds of thousands like me and others using lineage os / crdroid and similar custom os. The system you are using seems to be faulty from the start. 2 of our friends were banned even though no cheating was used. We cannot understand how a great team that has been designing games with extremely complex code systems for 11 years and integrated this game into the PC version with Unity could make such a mistake.
If I understood correctly, having a smartphone with an unlocked bootloader and a custom ROM might have triggered a false positive? I’ve been playing for 10 years, never used cheats, always downloaded and updated the game only from the Play Store. I’ve always used custom ROMs. Last week I switched from Paranoid Android to CrDroid, and yesterday I got a 7-day ban.
Apparently by kabam's logic anything you run along with mcoc is termed as third party software. No wonder very less people now about this game and why MFF is more popular
Also Marvel rivals a great game, where u can mod and use skins and they allow it ,why? They are not greedy, they love their player base. Also despite modding ,people still buy those official skins. And there is hardly any cheater there, the game is not p2w and fair. Kabam should learn something from other marvel games
The point is that it's not about something I run alongside MCOC — it's my Android operating system. It's a custom ROM, but there are millions of users who use custom ROMs. And I don't have any pirated or modded apps, neither MCOC nor anything else. I think the issue might also be related to the recent Google Play update and the stricter Play Integrity API restrictions, which prevent several apps from working on custom ROMs (mainly banking apps, but also ChatGPT and a few others).
I care about the game, and I sympathize with the people affected. What I won't do is abandon logic.

I do believe thety should be held accountable, also I do believe there should come out with a better solution as a next step. I am not buying the "new technology" story. i am sure this is something that could have been implemented years ago when mods started showing up. I think its a last resort to a situation they lost complete control after 10 years. A new game restricting the access to a huge market like China from day 1 or year 1 wouldn't have been as profitable as restricting it after 10 years would it? I have used other apps on android that stop functioning if you download the apk from somewheere for years. Like I said lipstick on a pig to call it new technology.
I care about the game, and I sympathize with the people affected. What I won't do is abandon logic.

At this point everything is just speculative i dont believe kabam has just been sitting on this tech cause they want to milk per se the chinese android market users who knows maybe they have been working behind the scenes to get something set up for that market im just going to sit back and see what happens tomorrow been a pretty crazy i am not a tos violater weekend lol

If they had been working behind the scenes, why not announce it? Something along the lines of "On June 7th people who don't download the game from official sources will no longer have access to the game, we will work to accommodate region issues" Sounds a lot better than "Hey man you spent a bunch during HoF event, got the sweet champs you wanted and rank them? Well guess what, you were not supposed to have access to the game; but thanks for supporting us!"

Kabam is not claiming to have literally invented new technology. “New tech” is what game companies generally refer to new technical implementations. When someone asks for a particular effect in the game or a new feature, the devs will often say that would require new tech. They aren’t saying they need to wait for someone to invent it, they are saying that particular technology doesn’t exist within their game systems. Kabam has been using that terminology for many years now, and it predates Kabam’s entire existence by at least a decade that I’m aware of.
There are many techniques for detecting or otherwise blocking cheaters and other prohibited behavior that currently exist but Kabam has never implemented or had the resources to develop. I’ve discussed quite a few with Kabam over the years, and I’m pretty sure they’d implement all of them in a heartbeat if they had the resources to do so. But the game wasn’t originally designed to support them, and for various reasons there are significant challenges to either implement them or deploy them that go beyond just writing the code to support them. As we’ve seen with this latest ban wave.
How many of you who received the 7-day ban are using a custom ROM? I strongly believe the false positive comes from the recent changes to the Play Integrity API, which are incompatible with custom ROMs.
I care about the game, and I sympathize with the people affected. What I won't do is abandon logic.
You want logic? Everyone knows that more cheaters showed up after PC version was release, then Kabam decided to ban Android players, tell me where is the logic.
Chinese players don't have access to Google Play at all, why 90% of them can still play on Android but 10% got banned? If this is illegitimate, why Kabam even allow Chinese players to login from Android device? The system is simply faulty.
They have access to Apple, which is allowed to the best of my knowledge.
So you are saying Kabam should ban all Android players in China? I don't think Kabam want to do that IMO
I'm not telling Kabam to do anything. What I'm saying is, from a logistic standpoint, anyone who doesn't use the approved methods of installation and game play is violating ToS and is subject to action. Legally, that's just how it is.
So you agree Kabam can't afford to do this, if Kabam can't do it (li

You want logic? Everyone knows that more cheaters showed up after PC version was release, then Kabam decided to ban Android players, tell me where is the logic.
They literally explained it. Since they have new methods of detection, they've been able to detect more. Also, Kabam didn't decide to ban Android Players. China decided to ban Google Play, 15 years ago. Any other methods aren't supported, likely for a number of reasons. The first and most obvious is the game isn't designed to be optimized through those ways. Secondly, they've had a long-standing partnership with Google. If Chinese Players have an issue with Android being prohibited, they need to take it up with their local government. Not Kabam.
No one is refunded money from all these years. That's how the game has always worked. As for your assertion, those are your words, not theirs.
The game belongs to them.
100% true but it doesn't mean it's not double standards.
I think one of the main possible issue is if the google play store wasn't preloaded in the phone like Xiaomi or Huawei but installed through an APK, Is it the case or is it still considered official partners @kabamcrashed ?
My question is, how do you know if your Xiaomi Google Play Store is side loaded after buying the phone from a legit shop. Because my Play Store came preloaded with the phone's default setup. Thanks for bringing up this anyway.
Hesabımı haksız yere yasaklamanız dışında ben ve ittifakım itibar kaybetti yılların emeğini çöp ettiniz BARİ LİDERLİĞİ BENDEN ALIP AKTİF BİRİNE VERİN HİÇ DEĞİLSE İTTİFAK DAĞILMASIN dönüş yapın artık I sent a lot of messages both from support and here, but no one bothered to respond. I am the alliance leader, my alliance is playing without a leader due to an unfair ban. I and an officer got banned, so they can't assign me because I am the leader. Are you aware that we are in the war season, you should know how this affects an alliance, moreover, the attack will start in the evening, so my alliance has already started losing members... Apart from unfairly banning my account, my alliance and I have lost reputation, you have wasted years of work. AT LEAST TAKE THE LEADERSHIP FROM ME AND GIVE IT TO SOMEONE WHO IS ACTIVE, LET THE ALLIANCE NOT DISSOLVE, respond now.
Yazıklar olsun verdiğim emeklere, yıllarıma bir mesaja bile dönüş yapmıyorsunuz Shame on you for all the effort I put in, for all my years, you don't even respond to a message.
no one's being judgmental. it's actually a sad situation for a lot of players who aren't running cheats that give them an any competitive advantage but ARE using modified software that just let's them play the game just because they live in a country that makes it hard otherwise. so i get the anger...
false positives aside, the rules are clear: if you're using a modified version of the game or any other software that interacts with the game or say you have traces of bad software that is detectable on your phone or computer (emulation, whatever), then the system flags it.
it doesn't matter if you're not "cheating" and you've been using this for 10 years, it's always been against the TOS and now their new tech is catching it. what do you want them to do? let you use emulators, a modified mcoc app, or a modified OS on your device? why would they allow that?
I don't get you. I am under none of these. As I said, my phone is vanilla. Just downloaded the game from Google play app store. I don't have any emulator, VPN running. I mass mail I got said that people have been banned for downloading from unofficial source. But Google play store is listed in the official and that's where I downloaded it from. The apps I have are you run of the mill outlook and govt. Apps, all downloaded from Google play. The point is that the TOS i have been told I have violated through the mass mail is just not true.
I care about the game, and I sympathize with the people affected. What I won't do is abandon logic.
You want logic? Everyone knows that more cheaters showed up after PC version was release, then Kabam decided to ban Android players, tell me where is the logic.
Not Kabam.
After Chinese players pay for a decade without any issue, you suddenly say this? You need a doctor
Just got back from vacation and found out I was hit by one of these bans. If, according to this post, my account is going to be put under higher scrutiny going forward, it would be really nice to know what flagged my account in the first place so I can avoid it happening again. Especially since I've only ever played through the play store and official PC launcher.
Regardless of the cause, I certainly won't be spending money on the game ever again if it's possible I'll be hit with another longer ban after this for the same unclear, bogus reason.

There's no logic. Kabam failed this part. On the same pad, my son run his game. He was banned. There's sometimes other old accounts that I used on this pad. They're not banned..If their detector would be ok, he would have banned my other accounts. And I only use google play store. This is just a huge fail. Everybody is agree to fight the real cheaters. I played BG : some guys are hit and 100% life...but, here, this is a fail. I received an answer and they don't want to recognize the fail and the mistake...

Nah. This is on kabam in regards to not providing a demographic an official alternative.
I fully understand the logic of not allowing unofficial mcoc APK installs. So, why not allow for the APK to be downloaded directly from MCOC's website the same way the launcher for PC is available despite the obvious plans to also release through steam? Provide the Chinese community or any other community that has no say whatsoever in the restrictions their governments impose upon them in regards to access to the play store or other official channels and just offer it directly... Preferably before unilaterally deciding that these people are cheating.

If you love and care about the game and company so much, you should be more worried about this issue than I am. Losing the android market in China is not something that won't impact the quality of the game in the future
But if Kabam accuses me of usind 3rd party app they do not need to show any proofs. Feels a little double standards to me.
no warning but just a generic don't do this everyone message every couple of months, changing tos.
it's this same kabam that banned some content creators last year alongside cheaters, there's no way i'd trust their new system with being consistent with their track record
Like I said lipstick on a pig to call it new technology.
why not announce it? Something along the lines of "On June 7th people who don't download the game from official sources will no longer have access to the game, we will work to accommodate region issues"
Sounds a lot better than "Hey man you spent a bunch during HoF event, got the sweet champs you wanted and rank them? Well guess what, you were not supposed to have access to the game; but thanks for supporting us!"
