Special Champs Release Schedule

I would love to understand what the schedule is for releasing the Omega Days champs, Heart of Fire, Saga chase, etc. if anyone could share that would be great.

Why is it so hard to understand that that is an unsatisfactory non-answer and we should get more than nothing on this issue? That's WHY people are frustrated. There are like 30 champs now that are just completely unobtainable in any way, with no sign of stopping. Sucks to be you if any of those champions happen to be your favorite.

I think it's fair to want to know if champions like Red Guardian and Human Torch will be unobtainable forever, a year, 2 years, 5 years? I understand what I'm being told: no one at Kabam has put thought into that question. I think they SHOULD.

We’re two years into having 7* champions.

Sounds like Kabam is just dragging their feet and has no plan or vision. Holding back the highest rarity of champs isn’t going to help the game.

Yall realize that by forcing them to make a schedule of release for these champs, its gonna force the introduction of 8* that much quicker yes? Are yall ready to restart the top end chases? I can already tell you think I'm talking nonsense, but I'm really not. There's only so many champs missing as 7* and we can barely r4 more than 3 or 4 for free thus far.

It's not a non answer. The answer is literally, "we're not releasing them right now and we don't have plans".

It's the same answer we got for champs like Quake and Magic to be 6 and 7*'s. They don't have plans and they don't want to release them. They won't give you a estimate because, as a community, we've never been good with those. Wish crystals are one of those things that was mentioned and so many people wouldn't let it go claiming that Kabam said they were coming blah, blah, blah. It's fine to not like his answer but it's still an answer none the less.

8stars are coming anyways, and that release schedule will depend more on 7star R6 availability than paywall gate keeping of meta champs. Because the people who will be paying for the 8 stars already have the paywall pool.

8stars incoming also mean the games still alive and kicking. When the rarity level stops increasing… that’s when the game dies.

How exactly are they gonna make money off champs if they automatically tell us when they'll be free? The only time people would spend money is July 4th and banquet. The only other avenue would be insanely hard endgame content worse than og act 6 or WoF ever was.

There is literally no reason to believe that them holding off releasing champs they introduced a year ago is in correlation to than holding off a 8*.

The answer is unsatisfactory, and in no way are champs they already released as 7* the same as not wanting to release champs that could potentially break the game. Having content be released that is highly specific to certain champs while also withholding certain champs is too punishing for players that could not afford it and creates more hate for those types of content. Especially when last spending we had some extremely amazing champs as well as the soon to follow human torch.

Overall, not having any plans for these champs release into base pool, in my opinion, is just dumb design and irresponsible.

People have always spent money, look at banquet, it was widely hated, even by a lot of the biggest spenders out there on youtube. But it was also the banquet where they made the most money. Having a timeline for these champs release will not impact spenders. Spenders will spend to get things straight away. If you say champs will be released 18 months after this event, people will still spend, because they know they have a long time to spend with these champs.

Kabam makes just as much money off occasional spenders as they do whales. If they say you can wait 18 months, the casual spenders don't spend.

But like, that's just purely entitled. They're supposed to be exclusive pools that reward luck, grinding or spending. If they announce when they're getting released then only whales will go for them and then you still have whales with r4 furies for the first year.

It quite literally elongated the 7 star cycle. Realistically what other 7 stars are there to add outside of the most busted 6 stars? By maintaining exclusivity on some of the desirable ones they make it so that there's still 7 stars that people want yet to release so people aren't just stuck waiting for 8 stars

What are you even talking about? Just because a new champ is released into a titan in a couple of months, are people not buying early access bundles? The people who want to spend money will spend money regardless of knowing if/when special pool champ will be added to the basic pool or not. Those who don’t spend money will not spend regardless of how exclusive the champ is to spend only events.

Lots of thought has been put into the question.
The answer is that the PLAN is not to release them in the Base Pool. In the future, that strategy might change.

Additionally, if there was a current plan to release, say, Red Guardian to the Base Pool - you wouldn't be told 9 months in advance in a comment on the forums. Bluntly, that isn't how marketing works.

Not to mention, if people paid attention at all, they'd see there's a couple omega days champs in this month's meta crystal that has a chance to drop the 7* version for valiants.

Constructive Feedback, is expressing dissatisfaction and making a request.

Purchasing in this game has only ever been a temporary benefit. That temporary benefit until the introduction of paywall pools used to have a fairly predictable time frame attached to it. We see it with new champs. You want that champ early you’ll have to invest units or cash and have RNGeezus on your side. But you know that mixture of fortune and investment really only nets you early access to a champ for 3-6 months. Theres a predictable runway to wide spread availability. And casual spenders not just whales have been ok with that. And it’s kept a fairly healthy balance between spending and non-spending.

This new practice of gatekeeping community loved champions behind a paywall with an opaque release schedule is new. It’s creating a clear class divide in the game that’s starting to feel gross. I think it’s only fair for people to share that feedback to Kabam. And even more fair to continue to ask for transparency as a result.

That's the first time you or anyone else has said the plan is not to release them in the base pool. I genuinely thank you for telling us that. I don't think the community should have to argue and plead to get that information and be told they are "going in circles" or be made to seem silly for expecting the answer "on a random forum post". We literally just wanted some info... thank you for supplying it eventually. I know you're in a tough spot and have to deal with frustrated people all day on here. I have no ill will for you and I hope you can see I'm not being totally unreasonable.

Will that plan change in the future? Probably - but there is no timeline attached.

It could change TODAY, who knows?

I agree that keeping all of them exclusive forever feels a bit silly, especially as that pool continues to grow. This game is huge, complex, and complicated - and every time something new is added, it changes the economy.

New champions can't be compared to exclusive 7 stars that are only going to be available in that one method for a very very long time. Hearts of fire and omega days were spending events designed to entice people to spend based on the additional rewards in the milestones, casual spenders wouldn't even bother engaging with that event if we knew that in a year they'll be available completely free. People buy pre release bundles based on the knowledge that they will be in the titan, the purchase is based on wanting them immediately as opposed to in a few months, which is a completely different approach than with these exclusive pools

Do you anticipate a release schedule similar to what you're doing with 6 and 7* Magik? The announcement was part of a livestream, but the can was kicked down the road for the actual release.

An alternative would be selectors for some of these types of champions perhaps as part of things like banquet events or Carina's Challenges. You could knock out two birds with one stone by adding in Carina's Challenges on Wheel of Fate that reward players with a rare champion selector.

I'd call myself a mid-tier Valiant player, but also a completionist. I'd honestly be happier with a 2* rare champion selector arena over a way to get a 7* Civil Warrior or Netflix Daredevil, but that's just me... or, you know put all of the 2*s in the PHCs.
