raids month

hurricanthurricant Member Posts: 693 ★★★★
we have never done raids. we don't have enough active poeple and they don't look fun. now the entire month is raids so it's going to cost us glory. so ok lets read the raid month announcement. copied into google docs, it's 19 pages and 2800 words. do you guys not see anything wrong with this? everything is so unnecessarily complicated and not accessible. i've been playing this game for 9 years and I am not going to read an encyclopedia to play a game mode a few times. chill out kabam. make your game simpler. stop overcomplicating everything damn

It takes like 2 seconds to skim and find the stuff you need. The rest is just nodes

I'm pretty sure it's still optional and you don't have to do it. It's just offered every week instead of one.

You get more glory during raids week even if you do normal AQ so this is a benefit to you either way

If we can do aq then great, I thought regular aq was offline for this

Just because I think its funny to clarify, only 12 pages in our google doc haha.

But totally understand the terminology is a bit dense. One of the things we've been working on this year is to try and make some of the denser game stuff a bit more understandable, especially with the launch of our glossary at the end of last year and the launch of Academy last month.

All that said, this is a special one, not the norm. Something new to try out!

    12 pages is a lot bro😭😭

Ok I'll tell you an important thing.

You don't have to read anything.

There are two things you need to focus - role boost missions and damage increasing missions.

When you pick a champs you need to select a role boost appropriate for the champ (you can check yt or ask here, or cat murdock may do some infographics for that). Once you picked your champ and role boosts

Each role boost applies 5 debuffs or get 5 buffs, by doing a specific action. Your objective is to get these debuffs or buffs as soon as the match starts.

Each role boost has a specific action to get and refresh these effects. Like if you pick Dot boost role for assault, you have to intercept to apply 5 debilitates. After applying 5 of them, if you intercept again you'll refresh all.

Next thing you need to focus is damage increasing missions. There are only 4 of them.
    - knocdown, dex and hit with a light while not stunned (one fo these actions picked randomly and you need to do them to get next action)
    - Punish specials and heaviest (you need to punish both to get charges, not only one of them)
    - Throw 4 medium or 5 lights.
    - Another one only applies for boss which I don't remember what it is.

Okay once you've done these missions few times, you'll get a effect and your damage increases. Make sure you first inflict 5 of your role effects before completing these mission, so your damage gets boosted faster. You will also get an effect that counters some of the abilities of the defenders, for the first week it will be grit since all champs there gain unstoppable.

So basically you need to do your role missions and damage increasing missions and then keep hitting. There will be few rpg mechanics for each fight that you need to take care of as well, but this knowledge is enough imo.

Most of the nodes there are just the same ones they can put it as global and no one cares.

    This too is a lot.

I have no idea how raids work and haven't done more than map 3 AQ over a year ago.

    1. Do I need to do it this month, or, is it worth doing based on the rewards?
    2. Can we do it with 1 bg containing 4 decent accounts and a bunch of scrubs left over from gifting that are mainly used for QE to move the big accounts?

Honest opinion here from 1 alliance leader:

My alliance consists of 28 valiants and 2 thronebreakers who don't want to progress and I let them be

So let's talk about the valiants in my alliance

50% of the valiants in my alliance don't play AQ despite radiance as rewards

50% of the valiants in my alliance don't play Raids, I once kicked 15 valiants out of my alliance bcos they refuse to play Raids despite messaging them one by one

50% of the valiants in my alliance either struggle with New AW multi million healthpool defender or don't want to play AW

I do AQ map 8 and Nightmare Raids and the majority of the valiants either struggle with AQ New AW Nightmare Raids or don't want to play them

The minority of the valiants have to carry AQ map 8, we can't carry New AW bcos it's 10 paths, Nightmare Raids is more difficult bcos it requires 9 strong valiants, Old AW is ok

Majority of the valiants are actually casual players, they will never go through 12 pages just to play a complicated mode like Raids that requires coordination

Valiants are a bunch per penny these days, you would have thought that valiants are the highest progression tier and they would be capable of doing difficult content but no you are dead wrong

I seriously wonder how they got valiant in the first place.......

Mentioned no shatter essence In all 4 raids.

But as per earlier 1 essence per raid (per month) as per that logic we will miss 1 essence from July know??

They probably have accounted for it somewhere. We were never going to get four essence in four weeks. That would invalidate their requirement that people spend for seven star Soulbark or whatever it’s called.
