In the summoner fest event, we get points for completing the bg objectives. Obviously it is easy to complete it in VT than GC. if you play minimally (only to complete objectives), you can complete around 7 to 8 objective sets (total is 14) minimum. But you'll miss out a lot of radiance from those 3 radiance objectives.

Alternatively you push to gc and grind there so you won't miss radiance but win rate will be very low and matches are frustrating.

I'm struck between whether to prioritise summoner fest and sanity and stay in VT, or man up and face the challenge in GC, without missing any rewards what do you guys gonna do?

Brave of you too assume I'll hit 3 radiance objectives (I only did 2 before, but after last deal wave I'm not even sure about second with all those accounts having multiple r4 champs). Also is this fest event worth it? I was planning to hit GC last days just like I used to do before radiance appeared in the game

this bgs season is by far the worst since the release of battlegrounds, really annoying meta and the disparity between whales and f2p is just wayyy too vast, imagine facing 15-20 r4s with 4 r4s. It just sucks so hard after j4 and its only going to get worse from here. I'm still pushing for mysterium tho but meh the game is more stress and FOMO than fun for me. I'm just addicted, not enjoying

My best suggestion to you specifically.

You are a active player. You have a developed roster. You can compete higher.
Please don't be like whiny guys who whines at every single meta. Metas are just metas, they come and go. They are as frustrating as you make them to be. Don't let a hard meta take away your fun. It's just bgs you win and you lose. It's part of the game.

In the past, my usual suggestion would be to hit gc just before the end of week 2 when meta nodes change. It's too forceful atm.
Hitting gc early means you can get familier and hit a higher rank than usual. It's a grindy mode afterall. You'll have libery in picking your grind days and do just the objetives other days.

I myself, won't bother about 20k radiance in future after these two realm season ends.
20k is not worth the extra mental stress. I can hit 100 or 200 points pretty easily. I just don't want to be forced into it, just because noobs can't hit gc.

F this 30k radiance carrot. I'll play how I want to play. Just doing it for these 2 seasons because I want to stay ahead with the no error buffer realm event.

Radiance from the radiance objectives are not "a lot", they re pretty stingy. So it doesn t matter that much.

I have not put any thought into if or how I should game the system, and I don't plan on doing so. I simply work on the assumption that I can win three matches every other day even in GC.

Well tbh I'm unsure about it. tho I voted to rush to GC but now after seeing the GC nodes I'm thinking to change my vote.

Hard to miss out on the radiance at this point since I really need all of it for my deathless chase, might see some GC streams and decide if I can survive there in the first two week or not.

I don’t grind BG, I will continue to do the bare minimum and get to GC on the last day. It just takes up too much time away from arena (small wins and units).
With Showcase, VEQ and saga incursion this month, feels like I have to take time off work so I can focus on my ‘hobby’…
Really annoyed that I have to ask my alliance to do raids for this event (we can barely complete map 6 in 2 BGs). So far I have 4 other guys… I am going to miss most of the milestones as well as worry that the 4 guys might leave the alliance because of the realm event.

I wish that I didn't relate to this as much as I do. It's a shame really, because the game has a ton of appeal. I used to really like Battlegrounds in particular and enjoyed becoming more competitive in it before the reward structure simultaneously made it a focus for global events and yet all but impossible for a still-developing player to compete. My hope is that Kabam's analysis of the data on radiance shows them that the current paradigm isn't working and they restructure things. I'd like to continue to play long-term but the current status quo is not enjoyable and I refuse to be a punching bag for whales season after season.
