I initially judge by the difficulty of dexing their specials. Easy defender I guess... Just hate AoE damage defenders though and that has started to become a thing.

Tell me what extra utility other than neuroshock immunity is he bringing to the contest?
Even after having bastion I still prefer jack in many matchups so maker is another bastion for me

His Special drain is also new. Rarely do new champs bring brand new utility anyway, old utility works just fine. Damage is his problem, from what I see.

I think the prefights are the big story with Maker.

The Maker looks really cool, reminds me of One Piece lol especially when he uses his SP2, it looks like Luffy's Gattling Gun Attack.

I think the prefights are the big story with Maker.

His prefights seem good for BGs (one fight for him to take on Onslaught or Cap Britain), but outside of BGs it seems kinda bad.

The potencies seem really weak, so the main thing seems to be the utility.
Special Drain's only main application is Cap Britain currently, so very niche. Outside of Cap Britain, if I want that for power control fights, I would use CapIW tech synergy or Prowler and be able to drain 100% of the power.

Instant damaging effect are also not that common, and with the potency being so low it also isn't gonna make a major difference. However, the cowardice does seem like it could be useful since prowess control is common.

I think of Mister Fantastic's debuffs or War Machine's prefight - those prefights actually seem like they more broadly useful and powerful, compared to Maker's more niche and low potency prefights.

Unimpressive prefights coupled with game design not actually supporting prefight charges (single champion quests, champion swapping, etc), and his appeal for non-BG players like myself seems limited.

Updated Phoenix absolutely smoked The Maker. Cool looking, but weak champ.

you know the worst part? the mine ins't the problem but how they worked around It

instead of making it a one time per rotation they should have made like sable and did multiple mines, each time the opponent steps on one they apply a copy one of Maker pre fights, 3 of each at max and it's 2 mines instead of 1,reduced damage but the catch is

While holding special maker gains a passive precision making all hits guareented for 5 seconds, paused during specials and when Maker would crit he deals a burst of plasma based on his critical damage rating

For a extra on the Awakening he gain a certain % Cruelty based on personal passive effects on the opponent, and make him parry non contact attack as a base kit thing

Definitely a utility over damage champ, but his utility is pretty strong. Haven’t tested him myself

He's not supposed to be crit, thats a huge part of the tech identity now. Also you yet again keep suggestion massive fundamental changes that completely misunderstand the character

Well you see the problem? Most mutants punish critical hits and big yellow numbers

    Onslaught Inflicts neuroshock
    Kitty gains prowess
    Mr Sinister regene
    Havok gains charges

Tech champs are supposed to function in a way that they can counter mutants who punish crits

Maker is one of those champs that will take time for acceptance by the wider community.. its not a nuke.. no big yellow numbers.. its utility with useful prefights and its not available for another 2 months on the Titan.

He'll be called mid regardless because most of the vocal community cares most about Battleground performance. Maker is clearly geared towards war and longer form team based content.

I think he needed a little touch like

His heavy hits give the opponent no power and holding the heavy for 1.5 seconds drains 1% of max power on the 1st hit.

The no power adds to the parry - heavy play style and the tiny power drain makes him an effective Havok counter and can possibly save you from an SP3. That would've been enough to give him a solid place in many teams. As is, I don't think he does enough for me to bother chasing and ranking him up if I get him. Right now his best usage for me would be adding more damage to Bastion with the pre-fight.

Only problem is what would would I use him for???? The majority calls the leader mid, but hands down, he is the best at what he does. Recent metas in bgs really lets him shine which is cool, but the maker isn’t good at anything except being immune to neuroshock. At least the leader is realy helpful, the maker is only ok for prefight. Whichever universe reeds is in, hes’s mid
