Doom Cycle Event - Tips for FTP

Using Thing. Completed 1-3 first time (Just barely 2/3). Failed 4 once, then Failed 5. What I noticed was I'm losing 2 mastery cores every time I failed. So I decided to go back and complete 4 again before going back to 5.

I think the key was getting that max dash attack unlocked and a bit of extra armor. After the replay of 4, I was able to smash through 5 and 6 today.

Here is the current setup I have with thing. I don't think it matters who you select, just focus on that dash attack and teamwork abilites. In hindsight I would remove things stun and focus on rock stack armor first. Teamwork I have the IW and Mr F evade help

As far as tokens go, if we have 84 max and need 59 total shatter runs. You can spend some time this week building in story mode, as long as you get to shatter mode by weeks end. Using a couple tokens to just replay easy levels for the 10 core max is something to consider, as pushing the next chapter is risking mastery core loss.

I don't think you can, which is one of my complaints.

Invisible woman is broken. Max out all the team evade stuff and then get her specials unlocked and you might have to redo twice but then rolling after that

Why do we need 59 shatter runs? As I understand we need 25 runs to get the titan (20 of these runs should includes F4, each with 5 runs to get 7* shards).

How many additional tries are built in? I still have to complete 7 and 8.

(I stuck with thing for masteries cause i didn’t care enough to watch 10 minute how to guide for this garbage… thanks for the teamwork evade tip. Will throw points there now…)

@Chuck_Finley with no room for error, should be 24 tokens (8 days) allowed in story mode. Leaving 60 tokens (20 days) for shatter mode.

Tomrrrow I might redo 6 once then try 7/8. I think 2 more days at the most before I’m at shatter, thing was near half health after 6 today.

Trust me on this. Max out Team Masteries first! Then work on maxing Torch. He burns through Story and Shatter. Put a few points each into IW, Thing and Mr Fantastic to make them stronger when you need to use them for the Dimensional Arcade Objectives. Just a little tip when you get to Shatter, you don’t have to solo an entire Shatter run with a single champion. To speed up getting objectives points, I did the following:

Wave 1: IW
Wave 2: Mr Fantastic
Wave 3: Thing
Wave 4-8: Torch
(Torch with as many masteries as possible)

Just made it to chapter 8 with thing. This dude is absolutely trash. I literally died 5 times in a row before I got lucky and won with 13 hp left. I retract my previous statement, if you are upgrading thing rn STOP ASAP. This dude is getting hit twice by doom before he lands his weak medium. It took 2 gold perks and crit RNG just to barely beat doom.

Not been paying attention. My teamwork masteries are locked so how can I max them out first? I assumed I had to do the others first to unlock teamwork

Invisible Woman is pretty broken once you've upgraded her a bit. If you boost up her evade and pick the "gain one boost points every time you evade an attack", you'll constantly have enough points to buy the biggest boost that you can choose from the three after each fight. Those alone can allow you to create a monster, but she her specials are pretty great as well. Especially if you boost them via the Teamwork masteries.

They are unlocked. I was confused myself.
You can put point on the single open mystery on the left, which unlocks the next ones.

This entire game mode is the least intuitive thing I've ever seen. It's so bad.

Same here. I’m thinking about re running a path today so I get all the mastery points

Went with PURE invis woman focus, her evades, shields, specials, dash, heals plus MrF teamwork evades.
No crits, no attack delays, no armour, no bread, no water, just SHIELD!!! (and evades)

Not a single time I have died in story mode and 1 shatter mode I did.

Stuck with my plan of re-running 6. At first I was like wtf, getting worked. No evades, no blocks, no dash. Then halfway through thing put up a wall and ended up finishing about same 1600/3300. Chapter 7 had decent luck, and finished 1900/3300. Then went on to the big baddie doom

No tokens left to try shatter today but just how much RNG there is, on top of wanting your SPs to be thrown at the right time. There was times when he would evade or block 4-5 hits in a row, crit 2-3 times in a row, or dash. While other waves just stand there throwing pillows.

Do the opponents in Shatter mode ever change? Or if I can get through it with my current masteries with IW should I start building up for others?

@Penzito you are a Godsend!!! there’s SO MOCH (warranted) negative noise about this event, but a discussion about just getting it did, in the most efficient and least aggravating way possible, is what’s gonna help people getting locked out of rewards (or being locked into giving this event money). thank you, dude!

These slow burn events, when you wonder if you'll be safe to even get it done. Today I focused on lowering the attack delay for thing. Decrease attack delay -0.04 per rock stack, then teamwork torch -0.2 and teamwork Mr. F by 4%. Brought him down to 2.2s but as low as 1.8s I guess with 10 rock stack.

For things ability I added one more to stun 50% chance, its not that great. It's unreliable if your SP attack is thrown at the perfect time, but it can help. Then the only thing on stats page, I gave him 8% armor increase for 3 total cores (seems cheap).

Remaining extra points teamwork Mr.F critical chance +6%, teamwork thing debuff resist 5%.

I'll try shatter mode first thing tomorrow. It looks like its back to 8 waves and still gives the mastery cores. Once thing safely makes it through, throw some points into the others and have them play 1 wave and revert back to thing after.

Then.....just gotta do that 58 more times....... .......... .........
