I feel like i’m the only person not upset about “Doom Cycle”

the simplest logic is often the answer. The “new mode” opens to an external browser and the Fantastic Four movie is coming out. That kinda tells me someone from an office many floors higher than the game team made them put this in. most likely for data collection, to test a new game they’re gonna launch, and/or promotion for the movie. some mix of those three things. if i had to guess someone had this made and they wanted it thrown in in time for the movie.
i think our guys knew everybody would hate this. why ? Think about it Kabam will sell you everything under the sun, but for this they gave away a FULL titan AND units? just to play this slog ? $10 pretty much gets you through the entire thing. One thing i’ve realized about this company is if they can sell something, they will. but they went ultra light on the monetization and threw in a full titan. Meanwhile in game they’re selling 150 titan shards for what ? 150 units i think.. (math check)
the external browser is another piece of evidence that tells you somebody else made this mode and decision. if not why not just add it in with the rest of the stuff? the launcher is in a tiny little box under the SDE. no big tab under the Fight screen.. if i wasn’t watching Vega’s stream when it dropped i would have had no idea where to find it. just a little tab, an external browser and a free titan. that’s not the Kabam/MCOC we know.
I’m open to the idea that this is just a miss and i’m trying to make sense out of it nonsense. but this doesn’t follow their usual steps to horrible decisions.
Before everybody jumps down my throat, i don’t care about Kabam. I play the game for fun. I spent modestly. i haven’t touched the mode after the first day because.. i just don’t want to 🤷🏾♂️ i think that covers all the usual talking points so let’s have a good conversation.
TLDR; The big bosses made this mode happen, our guys knew we would hate it and gave out some pre-compensation in the form of a Titan and Units.

The only thing I don't like is being limited to 3 runs a day.
If I could spend 21 entries (weekly) on a Sunday evening sitting in the garden sipping tea.... I wouldnt mind it.
But they went with enforcing daily play.
That's one of the worst predatory tactic.
We area already doing dse every day, bg objetives every two days, Wars every 2 days.
Give us a break, let us live.
I like the animation and art.
Not a fan of fighting modes where I don't get to fight.
That’s definitely true !! I would love to be able to knock it all out in a day or two. But the 3 daily entries thing was a big turnoff for me
The year started off great with the EPOCH of pain, but has gone rapidly downhill with MCOC poker/Arcade, a WoF flop, and greed filled spending events almost every month.
i swear 😂😂 after about 20 minutes of playing i was like damn this is baking my phone. broke down and spend the $10 because the rewards are really good.but yea, the anger around it has been insane.
Always been a fan of retro style games like this one because it's what I grew up playing and I just see this as a mini game basically, definitely not something to lose sleep over especially since all rewards are claimable without spending a single dime, the extra tickets are just optional if you don't feel like waiting or grinding every single day for a month.
But when we have to repeat it 25+ times, it's boring, very boring, some might say it's a chore.
Kabam needs to learn that less is more with new game modes.
That gambling deck mode?
It was fun for 1st week,
now? It's disaster, doesn't help when top prize is another Mid 7* hero called Devolutionary.

Thank god it auto plays because I’d be losing my mind out of boredom otherwise.
Wasn't King Arthur a similar turn based game style with better graphics and story and flopped?...
🤣
Basically:
Day 1: This is novel, but kinda boring.
Day 2: Yeah, this is boring. Less novel now, though.
Day 3: Boooooring.
Day 4: At least I'm out of the story. Huh, I've gotten quite a mastery few points by now.
Day 5: Okay, I begin to see what the point of this game mode is.
Day 6: Am I...having fun?
The secondary problem is that the four characters come, basically, without any abilities of their own from the outset. I spent a lot of points in the Teamwork tree since those benefit every character, but that meant that all of them felt very samey. I feel like the game mode could have really benefit from a deep dive. Not necessarily one for each champion, but a single "here's how these guys work and what they do and how they differ from one another" video.
The third problem is that the individual characters can become so OP that it's usually better to simply invest into a single champ than it is to spread out points between the lot of them. I'm fairly certain that I could simply start a Shatter run with Invisible Woman and then just go and make dinner or something while she steamrolls all eight rounds. There's no need for me to play that little special attack mini game or to choose boosts, because she'll crush everything no matter what.
I think there is potential in the game mode and I don't think it's something that some poor sap at Kabam had to do in an afternoon just because their bosses wanted something new for whatever reason. However, I think we've basically been beta testing both this mode and the poker one this month. Which is fine, but it would be nice to know that this is a beta test since I tend to give more grace to those types of tests than when I play finished products.
It just feels as if we're mostly testing out a very bare-bones version of both new modes, that will both hopefully be expanded upon in the future when they launch properly. At least I hope that's the case, because I've found both quite lacking in terms of genuine engagement from me. I can see the vision for both modes, but just hope there's ultimately more to it than I've been allowed to partake in up until now.
I have revives in overflow that normally would have been used in regular July SQ or a regular July SoS type content. Not to mention catalysts that normally could have gone to ranking up a champion to specifically handle a Boss rush or something, is instead just sitting there waiting to expire or make me take up a random champion.
I know these are all first world type complaints, but functionally, all the work I did to keep my account topped off are wasted because they have no function in either the Arcade or Doom Cycle.
Maybe also a first person shooter side game? We already have Battlegrounds, so they could call this mode Battlefield?
How about a mode where you build a base and armies, kinda like Risk. They could call it Alliance Bases, or something like that I dunno.
