PATRIOT BUFF REVIEW!! 🔴 FROM THE PATRIGLAZER!

I have a 7* R4 SIG 200 PATRIPAPI. (Just to add some credibility to my opinion). Most know this by now because of my constant Patripapi glaze.

REVIEW:

Patriot had the smallest of changes to his kit out of the 3… but for anyone who has seriously played Patriot, you’d know that his basic attack damage is great post-reversal at high/max ramp. It looks like he’ll be able to do his high basic attack damage for longer due to the increased fury duration. HOWEVER… they didn’t increase his precision duration… which was already much shorter than the fury passives duration… which means his precision will still expire wayyy to quickly, especially with passive AI… which kinda takes away from the affect of the increased fury duration…… his crits are where ALL his damage is at… so the fury buff duration being extended won’t mean as much as it seems. Why tf wouldn’t his precision passives duration be extended?!?! Kabam knew what they were doing with this. 🤦🏽‍♂️
Extended vulnerability debuff potency is great for him to deal more damage whilst you’re ramping up, to ensure that you’re burst of max damage will finish the job.

THE BEST THING ABOUT HIS BUFF:

THEY MADE PATRIOT’S UTILITY MUCH LESS NICHÉ AND EASIER TO ACCESS 🔥👍🏽 He now gains his Steadfast passive with just 3 DEBUFFS against all champions but mutant champions… whereas before, he could only gain the steadfast with 3 debuffs against Science champs alone. This is insane utility as he will basically be able to block ANY AND ALL UNBLOCKABLE ATTACKS ALMOST NEARLY KIND’VE CLOSE TO INSTANTLY! Never worry about any unblockable attacks with this guy. This is awesome utility. He also still has his miss counter buff on his parries which is insane and easy to access utility too.

CONCLUSION:

Kabam gate keeping Patriots max damage potential longevity by not increasing the duration of his precision debuffs. This sucks and they thought we wouldn’t realise 😤 His basic damage is top tier at max ramp but it won’t last nearly as long as it should.

He got an awesome buff to his utility and basically extends his utility to 5/6 of the other classes instead of just the 1/6. GREAT 🔥🔥🔥

An understandable buff that didn’t go overboard. He is nowhere near being Niché now. Increased damage. NO PRECISION DURATION EXTENTION. F**K.

This is just from what we see on paper. Kabam listened and moved his utility from his awakened ability to his main kit (which is where it always should have been.) We are yet to see his new awakening ability, but it seems like it will just be the same but with less in it. Hopefully there’s a little extra stuff in there but it looks like it’ll only be ‘increased precision passive potency’.

The full rebalance spotlight is out. Something of note is that it says that the non-damaging debuffs needed for that Steadfast against non-Science champs has gone down to 5 and not 3, so either the spotlight or the livestream is wrong.

not sure why there is no change to precision duration, kabam could have added a short pause on precision (preventing it from expiring sooner) if/when opponent used their special attack; will pausing precision make Patriot game breaking.. probably not.. but it will allow most summoners a chance to maximize on his damage potential.

I awaken 7* Patriot a few 7* champion crystal opening ago.. and honestly Yelena Belova is sort of version 2.0 or I could be wrong about this.. her reversal is more annoying than Patriot.

This tuning up is just a Spider-Punk-like change and they even shorten the duration of Rupture from sp2 by 1/2…
I have to say, if you want to use him as a solid Photon counter, yes he already has been. But if you want to use him to counter Spider-Woman/MODOK and so on, he can’t replace Cross Bones/Mole Man or Okeye.
I am expecting his damage increasing further while I am still doubtful about his future in the usage in AW or BG. If I can just use Cross Bones to counter Photon/Spider-Woman/High Evolutionary in a row, why need I rank up Patriot?
Furthermore, he still couldn’t handle Dust in node 31 but Lumetrix can. He needs Ai’s cooperation to solve Knull in node 31 but Shangqi doesn’t need so much like him.
I am disappointed about the release time of that change since if they only change those stats, why did they decide to hide his tuning for half a year? I was hoping that he could have got Slow or Endurance like Okeye/LU/Yelena which I think is the most useful ability for him to own, but nothing added. And now they shortened the duration of Rupture, meaning we couldn’t get our third Physical Vulnerability sometimes.
On the other hand, if bullseye relic could help him evolve into a damage monster, I’ll be glad.

The physical vulnerability potency has been more than doubled and the time was extended by 50%. There's more reduction with two than there previously were with three.

Then they've also lowered the time that rupture is up, yeah, but they maintained the potency.

In both of these notes it actually equates to much more damage being done.

They need to reevaluate their buff program. Again.
A slight tune up shouldn't be a batch release. If they want to do batches, save that for actual overhauls or something.
They're just punishing players at this point
