MCOC poker silent changes??

O_Deadpool_OO_Deadpool_O Member Posts: 199 ★★★
I am a good poker player and in this new mode I usually get normal combinations that give ~1k points each try.

But this evening is a nightmare. I got maximum a pair or more often just nothing for a 10 attempts (300 energy, 150 units for refills). It seems that when I go for a specific faction, it is just fully ignored, when I try to get set for a pair, 9 more swipes just go wrong way.
I know that it is all about probability and there is a probability such bad wave can happen. It can be explained as a normal exception. But I do not want to believe that I am so lucky to face it.

Has anybody else noticed increased hardness to get combinations in MCOC poker recently?

My luck has gone up and down for the duration of the event, as with anything heavily reliant on RNG. No real difference from week to week; in terms of energy-to-points ratio, it all kinda averages out the same.

Being good at poker doesn't help in this game mode in the slightest.

I want to play OP heads up in poker.
It sounds like he has no clue what being good at actual poker entails.

You could be Phil Ivey for all I know, your skills won't matter on Video Poker.

You do know real-life poker and video game poker are vastly different yes?

    Luck issue.

Except luck does not exist as a quantifiable or reliable method of measure as it can't be calculated, the cards are dictated due to RNG. If anything it could be considered skill but even then it's a stretch as it's rather random.

    Thanks!
I thought there might be some update and it could have a bug. So wanted to check with the others.
Today in the morning bad luck ended.

Ive blown 16 refills and barely at 35k, its not just you

    Why?

last week, I barely scored 10K points (minimum to meet the objectives), and still got top 50%. Sure I could have blown 16 energy refills like you and got more points... and got what... a few shards?

Use that energy in a more productive area (maybe revive farming to prepare for this month's content).

    Strategy issue…go for a flush.

Unless you got 2 pairs, its not worthy of your time. 4 of 5 cards in a flush, is worth more points than 1 & 2 pairs, and just slightly under 3 of a kind.

I don’t think anything happened but tbh it does seem harder to score points and I’ve been using the same strategy for all weeks and have gotten Top 200 in both weeks so far. I have been getting far less Faction Reaction and Odd One Out hands and my Lone Wolf hands have increased dramatically by far from the previous two weeks as I’ve been keeping track of them.

I do believe it to just be a luck issue but I’m hoping other people have bad luck too so I have a better chance

This is heavily luck based, ive had evenings where i just get the "lone wolves: over and over. RNG game mode, not much that can be done there.

That is a very smart and good strategy 👍
