I do joke, but in truth, I have tried to love Patriot for such a long time(due to photon being my pet hate to fight), and I've anticipated this buff for a loooooong time... And it seems sooooooo lack luster.. and 7 months for a balne, nearly one year since patriots release, really seems excessive
It fixes most of his biggest issues, what were you expecting them to change?
As right as you are, and I don't dispute that... It's actually nothing for near 8 months worth of wait and anticipation. look at spiderpunk, the slight changes they made, made a huge difference and impact and credit to the balance team for thatpatriot, ide still be surprised to see him in decks in mid to high level bgs (yes I have BGs brain rot in this instance) or in war attack for that matter.

Ill go back to a previous comment I made on another thread. The way current buffs are handled via the program should be moderate buffs to overhaul. New champions that come out that dont need that (Patriot) should have their buffs be priority and come out ASAP. All other cases (rebirth champs) should be a spare time type of thing. The community cares more about the new releases that are being pedesatlized than random buffs no one asked for that are being thrown back in our face as if we were begging and now being ungrateful.
The long and short of it is. Patriot came out a year ago and since then he has been a punishment and mostly unusable for people who spent on his crystals, the titan, and any crystal hes been a part of. Now all that time of having this deadweight in the best crystals only for him to get a slight number change which barely changes anything? It sucks. Why do the players need to be punished for a year with champions you guys are putting in the best crystals and refusing to change and then get told we're ungrateful or ignoring when something else comes out that no one was asking for. Not that the new buffs arent appreciated its just that no one was asking, they werent champions that were polluting the 7* pool, especially the most rare and valuable crystal.

TBF I still been nuking rank 3 dominos with her, only reason I don't run Viv anymore was because R4s and R3s are just out of her reach anymore, ide actually rank 4 her if I could awaken her and Sig stones were more widely available

Does that justify a useless buff though? Definitely not ungrateful for the buffs coming. They all look solid. But it is a fair point that the only buffed champ that everyone already had as a 7* is a weak buff, while the ones we will have to pay for more than a couple of received what look to be legitimate buffs. The amount of buffs doesn't justify any of them being of a lower quality than another. Over a year waiting for a champ to be usable, and him still not being all that usable except where he already was, seems like a solid waste of all the time that it took to get here. In 7 months he got a two minute buff. Whether or not other buffs happened isn't going to make anyone feel better about the fact that practically nothing happened to at least one of them.

TBF to mike he's doing his best here, and you can't fault how he's been doing things lately.. but yeah, I think this is quite the Flop this whole balance batch thing, and how little ever gets buffed or nerfed The whole thing needs to change, there's no reason why we have to wait nearly a full pregnancy term for a numbers adjust from a balance update.. my daughter was born after 8 months of pregnancy, she came a month early, still faster than the patriot numbers change 😂

We posted about the shift to Batch Updates a few months ago. There are various reasons why we shifted to Batch releases instead of the old system - one of them being, it does give us more time for full review where we can make sure if a Champion needs a tune up they get one.
At the end of the day, Patriot was already doing what he was supposed to do. The "disagree" count on the video I linked doesn't change the fact that Patriot can perform. It's totally fine to not like him, I don't personally enjoy using him - and I will never sit here and try to convince you to use a Champion you don't vibe with - but he's been obliterating higher-ranked Photons in 40 seconds in Battlegrounds since he was released.
After the buff, he'll be doing it even faster and easier.
It isn't about "waiting" to release his buff, it's about having an orderly process that allows the team to do their best work without having to crunch to unrealistic timelines.

The length of time for the buff is irrelevant to the point I'm making, though if the trade off is gaining a slightly stronger Patriot and losing out in the glorious guardians I'll take the 6 reworks we got because if the lighter load on rebalancing.
You literally said its not even a buff and that they didn't change anything meaningful and you can't tell me what you would change instead. It was always going to be a tune up to help him do what he does already a little better, it's not like they spent 8 months constantly tweaking it. I think the rebalance times count be a little shorter, spoken as someone that doesn't have any understanding of what that would actually mean for the people making the buffs, but you came out of the gate talking about how the buff didn't change anything which is objectively untrue

Was there a reason though for the change, we had a champ released, 3 months later the balance info came out, then about 2 months later the champ was adjusted.. that seemed to work well.. I'm a huge fan of, if it's not broke, don't fix it.. And yes, his 1 target match up, he's brilliant for, I think the community may have been hoping for his reach to be a bit better than 1 champ, ie high evolutionary

Weak buff feels pretty charged. It was small but does fix a lot of his issues. What would you have changed?

As someone who used patriot before his buff and took him to r4, the buff makes him much better outside of his targeted matchups. He has great damage, a pretty easy rotation to do, and he has a lot of survivability with constant willpower. The extended heavy is also nice, but it is very satisfying to learn to react to the opponent's dash attack and counter with your heavy. Very safe to do it that way. The larger damage numbers are also very fun to see too. Overall, it is a great buff if you enjoy patriot.

Reversal at 5 debuffs against science champs, at least then you could skip the sp1. Further increase his combo count on basic strikes for the likes of high Evo, maybe even an undermine type ability counter science auto lockers, Increase the duration precisions to coincide with the fury for starters.. just off the top of my head
