Let Leader Root opponents over the Green Door during his Special Attacks on offense.

The Leader is a bit of a controversial champion as there are many people who consider him to be worthless and yet a couple others that recognise how accessible and strong his control utility is.

Here's something that I'm pretty sure both parties would prefer him to have.

For a kit that would prefer opponents to be over the Green Door, the Leader's Special Attacks like to keep them off of it.

For that reason I propose allowing the Leader to keep the opponent over the Green Door during his Special Attacks with a Root. This would make his damage far more consistent and would probably slightly boost it as well as normally you would knock the opponent off the Green Door with an Sp1 or an Sp2 (without shifting yourself to the far side of the screen.)

If iAbom could get his kit changed to be immune to Inequity, the Leader can definetely get a tweak to his consistency.

Leader is more like a guinea pig in testing Field Trap.
I would like to see a strengthened version that the opponent would be rooted if they are inflicted 10 personal debuffs when the Leader activates a special attack. That would be greatly helpful to strengthen his Degen damage.

Problem with Titania is not her not having a root but not having a special lock, but Kabam already said they will not consider that so maybe a root isn't too bad 😂

It’d be a bit of a neat buff but I also really don’t think it’s necessary. If you’re using sp1 or sp2 it’s usually for the regen reversal or the power gain reversal damage from Power Dissolve, in which case that’s your main source of damage and the Green Door degen is usually extraneous. It’d help more while the Green Door is closed since the opponent activating a special above the door inflicts extra Debuffs, but I don’t find it too much of a hassle to back off a bit before launching a special which effectively does the same job with little extra effort. Again, I wouldn’t say no to it, but it’s really not a big deal.

I don't need to play flawlessly to know that dashing back once allows them to stay on the door. If you need to use his specials you probably don't need the door damage anyway and if you need the door damage then just don't use specials if it's such a big deal.

I'm not a perfect player by any means, I just think that learning spacing on a champion that is all about spacing is more time efficient than adding an entire new ability onto a character

1. The SP1 covers a large portion of the stage meaning that you will be highly likely to knock the opponent far from the Green Door even if you space yourself away from him.

2. Intercepting the opponent when you want them to has always been a reliable feature.

3. You are nearly guaranteed to lose out of some of the Green Door Degeneration trying to space yourself perfectly from the Door to try and knock the opponent into the Door with your special attacks.

4. Actually having the opponent be predictable has always been a reliable feature too.

5. The Green Door visual is inconsistent as I have noted there are some "dead spots" at or near the edge where the opponent would seem to be over the Green Door when actually they're not, a dormant Root icon would easily fix that as it would clarify

6. The Leaders damage can be rather inconsistent due to all these above factors. Granted you will use him not for the Green Door damage but his Spectres, Withers and Power Dissolve but at that point why would you have the Green Door if the kit tends to keep the opponent off it. Adding a root will make him far more consistent.

Don't patronise me with the "or and" and pretend like The Leader is perfect as is, he has his place but this is more about fixing his mildly contradictory style of play. If you play Leader you would understand that is more or less something he would be better with than without.

In any match that has high regen or power gain the green door is irrelevant. You just wanna be firing off the right special and that will be your damage.

If it isn't one of those matches, you should only be using the sp3 anyway. Like if there's ever a situation where you want to use his sp1 or 2 that will be the damage source and staying on the door isn't a important.

He has a completely different playstyle for general and targeted matchups and realistically neither of them require both the door and his specials. Even if you do use both, I've always dashed back from the door and fired the special and it's pretty consistent to get them to land on the door. It's not as ai reliant as you're making it out to be.

The point being, Leader is a character designed around spacing in order to get the most out of him so taking out the need to space as much would be a waste of time that could go to champions that actually need it

To points 1 and 6, honestly I barely use Leader’s sp1. Leader already deals twice the damage the opponent would Regen if you maintain max stacks of Spectres, which is easy even without sp1. The Vitality is pretty short and in any matchup with Regen where you’d theoretically care about it, either the Regen is strong enough that the opponent is gonna die very soon and Vitality is overkill or it’s weak enough that you’re better off playing Leader normally and just treating the Regen reversal as is as supplementary damage. I think the sp1 having such large pushback is actually a good part of Leader’s overall kit; it’s a good way to get yourself out of the corner and back onto the Green Door on offense, and on defense it makes it difficult to push Leader back to the wall where you can simply ignore the threat of the Green Door’s Degen.

I just feel like petitioning for Root for Leader isn’t worth the trouble. It’s a strict buff sure, but why bother? In your main post you brought up how Ibom got Inequity counter added in, but that was an actually sizable buff that significantly raised his ceiling in PvP modes. Adding a Root to Leader’s specials would barely increase his ceiling if at all, and it honestly doesn’t lower the skill floor as much as you seem to think it will either because the Green Door damage just isn’t something Leader needs to optimize; in matchups where you care about using sp1 or sp2, the Green Door damage is supplementary. As it currently is you probably will lose out on a few ticks of Degen from the Door trying to space around his sp1 or sp2, but missing out on those few ticks barely matters in a lot of circumstances. I just think that if I wanted to buff Leader that I’d have several different things I’d like to see touched before even considering adding Root.
