Will These Actions Get Me Banned?

SUPBOEESUPBOEE Member Posts: 8
Hello y’all,

I have a few questions and I’m a bit worried I might accidentally be doing something that could get me banned in-game or for related reasons.
1. I noticed that we can refresh the Solo Raids rewards/objectives and get the rewards twice after completing the first objective and claiming them. I’ve been doing this. Am I unintentionally exploiting a bug, and could it get me in trouble, or is it fine?
2. I’m a student in China, and we need to use a VPN for pretty much everything I normally use in my home country (Google, WhatsApp, YouTube, etc.). The game also doesn’t work here without a VPN, so I use one to play. I’m not a big spender, but I do make occasional purchases. The region and currency for my payments are set to my home country—not China or my VPN location—so I’m not taking advantage of currency rate differences.

Could you please let me know if what I’m doing is allowed? I’ve been playing for almost 10 years, and I really enjoy the game—wouldn’t want to risk losing my account.

About refreshing Solo Raid rewards—sometimes these things can be bugs, so it’s better not to push your luck too much. Just to be safe, maybe avoid doing that too often.

VPN use is totally understandable given where you’re at, and since your payments are legit from your home country, you’re probably in the clear.

I wanna know how this objective exploit works.
    I need to do it.

VPNs are safe to use, that has been stated by kabam on multiple occasions.

I tried redoing the objective once but I didn't actually get any additional rewards, so I haven't done it again since. So I don't think it's something you have to worry about.

As for you being in China and using a VPN: while I'll preface this by saying that I'm obviously not a Kabam rep and therefore can't speak for them, I don't think using a VPN is against the TOS in any way. The problem with bans in certain countries with tight restrictions is that people circumvent these restrictions (such as Google Play not being available in their country, for example) by using third party software. In other words, they don't have legitimate access to Google Play (or whichever store we're talking about), so they use an illegitimate software to download the game in order to play it. The problem with that is that, even if you then play perfectly legitimately, the way you acquired the game is still being flagged as a TOS breach.

However, if you use a VPN to access a legitimate store, I don't think that's a problem in the least.
