End game content format getting worse?!
I’ve recently finished my planning for the act 8 crucible, and only when I finished did I realise…
This won’t be difficult at all.
Now you read that and think “oh cool I can just breeze through it” but please think to yourself why people hate the wheel of fate. Here’s 3 reasons.
1: silly roster dependency. And I don’t mean having a LOT of champions. I mean having those niche champions that almost no one has ranked up especially the new titan champs that are hard to get.
2: reward payout. We don’t even need to talk about how horrible of a decision they made to make the rewards only ‘kinda’ good on the LAST quest.
3: the effort/ time to reward ratio. This quest is somewhat hard, yes. But you’d think they would give you back what you spend right? No. You sat there for 4 hours doing that first quest for some titan shards and 1/3 of a 7 star crystal. Appalling.
Now look at what they did here, and compare it to the crucible…
Roster dependency… CHECK
Reward payout… CHECK
effort/time to reward ratio…. CHECK.
It’s garunteed that most players won’t like this event just because of how stressful the planning and playing is. We can’t enjoy a challenge if the challenge isn’t FUN.
Necropolis and epoch of pain are by far the most loved content in the community. And that’s because your effort is rewarded even to this day.
The format is in paths and you don’t do 64 fights back to back.
And your roster isn’t depended on meaning it is FTP friendly.
We don’t want hard content that is hard for the sake of it. The community wants a challenge because humans find challenges fun. This new crucible won’t be a ‘challenge’ in a fun sense. It will be a nuisance to plan and play. Risk a ton of resources and more importantly TIME. All for the sake of a single rank 4.
Have a good day y’all, see you once I’ve explored it
