Is leader even good in BG as a r3 champ occasionally or he needs regen support champ to do damage?

Pretty much all asked in the title. I'm contemplating ranking him up. Or its simply need worth it for BG

For bgs they need to heal for him to be fast enough as an attacker. He’s a decent defender though as long as you have despair and inequity masteries. Ignoring bgs he’s decent as long as you go for the sp3 . However he is decent in bgs for att k as long as you get a power dissolve from the sp2 but that depends on how much power they gain . I think you should rank him up but not necessarily for bgs specifically

He's a specialist that isn't gonna be a nuke in most fights but when he's useful there's very few champs that are as good at what he does as fast and easy as he's able to achieve it. I know everyone loves to say that Nefaria is just better than him at everything but the difference is that Nefaria is good at dealing with healing and power gain matchups whereas leader is specifically better when fighting healing and power gain matches to the extent that he can be stupidly strong against big healers

Why you want to rankup scuffed Nefaria?

Just r4 Nefa and do all the leader fights with faster time, bigger damage and 100% HP, every single time.

Big fan of Leader, but Nefaria ramps really fast in the current VT and GC metas. One Sp1 and you're good to go. Their power gain keeps his vulnerabilities topped up and usually an sp2 or two and it's over.

Leader works, but you're relying on either his sp2 or sp3 to get access to the damage because there's no regen to reverse. He doesn't get to his specials as quickly as Nefaria does, so it takes longer.

People really overstate how bad Leader’s damage is. In a typical matchup where you don’t have any significant regen or power gain to abuse, Leader can still finish fights in 60 - 70 seconds with sp3. Not crazy fast times mind you, but it’s sufficient enough when Leader can often end fights at near full health thanks to his bulk. Mystics go by faster because you can abuse MD power gain. If you don’t have your nukes available or need to save them for a different defender, Leader is a serviceable choice in a pinch, far from the likes of Enchantress or Korg where you’re never throwing them on attack ever. It helps that his damage is pretty consistent, seeing as there’s not a lot of champs or nodes that can answer Unpurifiable Degens and Debuffs.

And on that note, he’s a very good defender too. He can stall really hard and unless you have Endurance or very reliable DAAR he forces awkward playstyles to avoid his Protection. Leader’s definitely not a must-have BGs champ by any means, but if you like him and what he offers it’s hardly sabotage to add him to your deck either.
