How about we do a kind of “bake sale” with the proceeds directly earmarked for buying new potatoes or training a new fleet of hamsters?
Now THAT is a sale I can get behind…
Dr. Zola
The forum gatekeepers are extra salty today, lol.
I peeked at OP's account and 3 months ago he made a thread saying "I'm done."
When are you & the other toilet tier account complainers actually gonna be done? All y'all do is post dumb crybaby stuff 24/7/365.
nah no ones complaining bro,,,just the SMART ones aren’t spending,..guess you don’t fit the bill.
Or maybe you pay the bills for Kabum lol.
The problem is that we do not think you hear us. Fix the game and no one cares what gets sold or given away. I’d trade all the comp you can squeeze out of the “budget” for speedy loading, smooth frame rendering and reliable inputs.
Then we can get to work on the horrid state of Kabam messaging and communication.
ain't that the truth,..awesome comment.
If you read the im done post you would know the contents of it and subsequently know how dumb you sound right now
If it bothers you so much why don't you leave yourself? You're literally complaining about people complaining which has nothing to do with you whatsoever. Nobody is forcing you to read criticism about your favorite game and the company behind it, get emotional over your own struggles instead and just leave people be. Like you're so mad that you check OP's profile to find an opening and dare to call us salty 🤣🤣🤣
Your name is beta and a wannabe 3000
I get Walmart loss prevention vibes from you for some reason...
Big talk from the toilet tier troll who's still here complaining about complainers- mirror check
god… wouldn’t that be nice. I mean some of these problems are only multiple years old at this point
@DrZola if there was a magical "fix the game" button on my desk, I would press it. The people working on econ aren't the engineers working on the current server issues, or the people working on fixing bugs every month. The rest of the game doesn't cease to move because of other issues present throughout the game. Contrary to what is said on the forums, dozens of bug fixes are shipped every month with each update - and even more live fixes each week. Unfortunately, flinging insults and cynical comments won't make the fixes happen any faster; they'll simply breed negativity & toxicity. We all want the same thing - we want the game to be in the best state possible, and for as many people as possible to have the best time they can.
Well if you guys are actually listening to the feedback then surely this won't be another p2w even where we have to drop $600 to get one copy of a champ correct? Because if memory serves me well, most of us thought it was completely absurd that you sold Red Guardian and Dark Phoenix for $500 and then were greedy enough to bump Torch's sale all the way up to $600 as if $500 wasn't already ridiculous enough.
Anyways, for me personally, it's not the fact that you guys keep giving us sales it's the fact that the prices you put on some of the rewards are absolutely ridiculous and absurd, I don't even think games like Dead by Daylight and Apex charge this much for a brand new character every couple of months and those are console games with larger dev teams.
This game's really turning into a contest of whales, no wonder why people are quitting lol
As long as its not too expensive, it should be ok at least
You must be the one paying all the money then
It's clear there are more whales than non / casual-spenders, and it's getting really demoralizing seeing the monthly offers where you can get brand new champs, easy access to high-end materials etc. It used to be okay, with the 3 big sale being July 4th, cyber weekend, and gifting/banquet (honestly, I truly hate these events because if this feeling). However now there is always a thing every frickin month, and I'm pushed over at a certain point, where even the sound of the compensation feels meaningless... (Even if it's more than 3 refills, 3 revives and 5 potions).
Also while I'm here, BG store is outdated once again, same with glory store, and the "buff" on the mysterium store is borderline joke. I'll gett 27k weekly? Cool, I can finally buy 1250 7*shards with it. Yay
I miss the days where all you needed was 40k units a year (15k for July and Cyber and maybe 9k for gifting.
Now you need:
42k for HOF/Omega Days
43k for July
59k for Cyber Monday
18k for Banquet
Who has 162k units ready for this? Not to mention another 12k for war boosts.
For years I grinded ~150k units a year from arena to be able to get this stuff, and it was nice, but can't do it anymore and I'm not going to spend on so I just quit instead.
It sucks but what can you do? It's still a great game, especially competitive AW but it's not worth it anymore, at least not for me.
We need a super arena express, 150k units for $1.99 or something 🤣
They made a thread ranting about Dark Phoenix costing 36k units but then proceeded to buying her nevertheless and announcing it within said thread.
Also looking at their comment in this thread about supporting dynamic difficulty EQ but complaining about monetization seems contradictory since that EQ is basically monetizing prestige for rewards (geared towards spenders and anti f2p)
We don't know how big the gap will be in rewards yet tho, if the gap is small then it really isn't a bad thing, there are more positives than negatives there. So, I'd wait until it's actually out before criticizing the whole thing, I doubt the gaps will be as huge as some people are assuming.
I was looking at that as the Silver Lining but in the Stream it looks like you get six AGs at 30k prestige and then it drops off to 1 (not sure if those rewards are what we will actually see though).
Honestly since it's not Alliance content/PvP , it should have a cap on the highest prestige threshold to make it so we don't have to blow sigs on Champs that don't need it or are terrible like Surfer. They're already making AQ top 30 prestige which will severely castrate f2p players, so i dont see why they cant for adaptive EQ
the produceres of Baldurs Gate 3, Larian Studios, is also a business. However, they gave away major updates with many new characters for free.
Difference ways of approaching their player base.
And oh yes. BG3 has the same cost as one Odin in MCOC.
I mean, it does sound like a lot but what would those gems even do for those players who already have everyone awakened? Literally nothing just sit there gathering dust for who knows how long.
What will matter tho is the gap in rank up materials, if everyone above 27k gets let's say one r4 then it's fine, nothing game breaking there. Awakening gems tho I really don't see as a huge deal, players who have a high enough prestige to get those rewards probably won't even have a use for them cause they have all meta relevant champs already duped and high sig. Use Stonehenge's roster as an example, you think seven awakening gem crystals will do anything for his roster his money hasn't already done for him? Absolutely not lol.
Good to see someone is passionately carrying the legacy of Scuffed Ironman of forums.
This game kept the lights on for big sales events a couple times a year for years. That increased by one or two… and then it turn into these sales monthly. This isn’t on you @Kabam (Osaurus) Rex , but pushing these sales necessarily comes the expectation that the product is going to necessarily improve as well as the profits. How many things just hanging out there? The AI, recovery rate, etc still goes unresolved… defenders doing things we can’t.
So “there is no magic fix” may very well be true, but where is the increased revenue going then? That’s where the disconnect is… add on the communication of bugs, compensation, and particulars of new changes are very slow in coming, and we conclude the revenue isn’t even going into keep the community in the loop on the game we enjoy. When we keep getting the same product with the same problems and higher price tag (if we want our accounts to stay relevant)…. Like every else in the market economy, the reviews aren’t going to be glowing, and that’s not the consumers fault.
Release a tank of a paywall champ, then almost immediately release a counter, paywall champ.
This now appears to be the intended structure for champion release. Either spend vast amounts of money, or risk falling behind and struggling in places like BG’s. I’m fairly confident in saying that 2/3’s of the player base (perhaps more) cannot afford £500+ a pop for the latest champ. For me this feels like the game is being structured around the competitive nature of BG’s, and targeting those willing to (can afford) to spend serious cash.
I think “slimy” is a bit harsh, but that’s my opinion, and you’re more than entitled to yours.
That said, I agree that the streams are somewhat awkward. Very often the banter between Mike & Dave is based on personal jokes, and their raucous laughter at their “in-the-know” jokes leaves viewers feeling disengaged. Gone are the days where the hosts would engage with the viewers and answer questions put to them - why has that suddenly stopped? Now it’s just an hour+ long sales pitch about the next paywall champion, personal jokes and such. I get bored, and I disconnect.
The only really good thing about the streams are when they have a guest employee on, who discusses the design or play mechanics of a champ - that’s engaging and interesting, not watching two men laughing continuously about whatever personal reference they make to one another, throughout the entirety of the stream.
@Kabam (Osaurus) Rex
Thanks for the response—I don’t think anyone who’s held a job for a day thinks there’s a magical fix, or that you and Dave are responsible for the coding, or that running a business is easy.
There will always be bugs and issues. But to me what feels like it’s missing is a sense of progress. Last update was a mess, problems have cropped up again this update, and old issues remain.
I’m sure things are being worked on, but it often doesn’t seem like it to the community.
The team’s communication strategy appears fragmented and uncoordinated (ex: one guy says relief being looked at, another implies maybe not, time goes on, more issues arise).
Simple things which might in isolation not seem like much (ex: forums being broken for consecutive game cycles) when combined with in-game issues foster a sense of overall dysfunction.
Against that backdrop, I don’t think it should be hard to see how tone deaf a steady drumbeat of spendy offers might seem. Yes, I realize they’ve been planned months in advance, and yes, I know the game has to make money, but the asks from the game just keep coming whereas the asks from the community can feel ignored. That’s not a place anyone wants MCoC to be.
One final note: I didn’t waste 10 minutes of my time trying to navigate the forums (which kept sending me to top of page instead of the draft I was writing) because I’m cynical or root for the game to fail.
I did it because when I give the game my precious money and precious time, I expect it to work reliably and professionally. I know that’s the team’s goal as well, but lately the game simply hasn’t performed that way for me (and I suspect others).
Again, thanks for the reply. I hope this post provides good feedback.
Let’s see should I spend $600 on one character of a majorly flawed and bugged mobile game, or should I buy Nintendo switch 2?
This choice is very difficult.
It seems the minor feedback of "if you're going to do a sale at least make it better" is overshadowing the major feedback of "do less sales/make sales special again" and "don't sell champs for 100s of dollars if there's no reasonable timeline for the poor people to get them".
