Alliance Ratings are Frozen Right?!

Then explain how we continue to bounce between T3 and T2. We just got demoted again back to T3 after this last war. During last season when it was frozen at T2, we would go from T2 to T3 back to T2. The 3rd war page would say T3 while the main page would say T2 but points would count as T3.

Eventually it was set back to T2, but again we are now T3 while nothing should be changing.

Wtf is going on?! We should be starting this new season T2, but now it looks like we already got screwed before it even begins.

somebody in my ally tried to explain it to me. Your war rating is locked but you can still move around between tiers and something something else. War scoring always made my head hurt.

Sounds to me you guys are on the bubble of pushing into T2, so really depends on who you match.

You could be matching T2 allies with +5 rating than you, thus making it a T2 war.

Or could be matching a T3 ally -

I know you can match in various tiers up or down, but that still should not be changing how high you are % wise if nobody is changing rating. The tier system is based on % of allies, so changing based on a matchup makes little sense.

Gimme some insight kabam, somewhere in the glossary or academy should define how AW scoring works, clear and defined.

Let's assume the position of your %tier ends at spot 100. You are at the bottom, just 1 spot higher then an alliance in lower tier.

If you match an ally on spots 90-99 you'll find yourself in your same tier.

If you match an ally on spots 100-101 you'll find yourslef at lower tier %.

vice versa when you are at the top ranks of your tier.

When you are at the bottom. Let's say spot 99. You match someone with spot 106.

Someone else took your spot who is matched with spot 98 or 97 or 96... so on.

How many other spots 80-100 alliances matched with spots 100-120. All those postions needs to be cleared for the active alliances participating wars

The tiers have fixed number of alliances in them. If 20 alliances from a above tier matched with 20 alliances from bottom tier, not all of those fight in same tier. Exactly half will fight in highe tier and half will fight in bottom tier.

Side Notes* tier is determined by alliance's war rating. War rating and tier has nothing to do with seasons ranking. War rating continues to go up and down after each war but are fixed in off season. When season ends all season points are fixed at 0, or in other words, Every season all alliances starts at 0 season points.

I gave up explaining war ratings and season points to players during last season debacle.

Yeah, so essentially as explained above.. even if rating is frozen, the tiers are dynamically calculated for each matching session (tiers are not a persistent stat)

What usually happens is that even though the tiers are recalculated every time there's a matching session, they usually remain the same as they were in previous matching.. but its not guaranteed even with a frozen rating.. especially if you are on the line

This actually happened to us last Season, we ended the previous season at t1, but near the bottom of t1.. ratings frozen.. but what happened was there must have been a couple of alliances that didn't compete in the previous season and have now come back to play the next one - they were previously not in the matching pool.. and now they are.. slightly adjusting the tier placement as they re enter the matching system even though no ones rating has changed
