Duping Yondu or New Super Skrull

So i already spent 15k units and I want to ask you guys what do you recommend. I already have Yondu, but for the next selector, should I pick Yondu to awaken him or should I go with a new Super Skrull? Does Yondu really benefit from the awakening?

Yondu. His survivability goes way up with the weakness on opponent specials.

Full disclosure I think SS is crummy champ, others clearly have higher opinions.

Limited availability champs like these I think it's better to take both and try to awaken them via gems down the road. Champ acquisition is the name of the game.

Personally I would go for skrull. Its way easier to get Awakening gems now and it's better to get 2 exclusives champions instead 1. And no, im not biased lol

Unless I missed Super Skrull getting buffed, he really isn’t that great. Personally I’m probably going to take the Yondu dup as I’d rather use gems on other champs and for the 20 sigs. Yes, SS is an exclusive champ and probably won’t be available for a while but…so was Kraven and we don’t see folks lamenting his lack of availability. If they were both mid I’d probably grab both, but Yondu seems to be quite good now but really needs his sig to shine

Super skrull got buffed 2 months ago. His damage ceiling remains the same but its way easier to access, he can now maintain his undermine and vigilance more easily and has constant uptime on his energy vulnerability whenever the falter isnt

Yondu, I have both awakened because I spent a good amount and I'm really not that impressed by Skrull, he doesn't have as much reach or tankiness as Yondu and even on defense he won't be that crazy because every single meta defining mystic handles him. He can be a good quester and such but competitively he's not going to have an impact, Yondu definitely will.

Fair enough - guess I missed it. I’ll admit I’m still going to focus on Yondu as I think I’m going to R4 him and I already have too many good cosmic champs. But can see that some might enjoy SS!

Gems are more available yes, but still not plentiful to the point where I’d use one on SS.

Yeah, I agree that gems are more available but at least for me, still not that available 😂 I still have more champs that I would prefer awakening with a gem than SS or even Yondu. Still debating, but Im going more towards duping Yondu, since I've been enjoying playing with him. Either way, I appreaciate all the comments and recommendations

Yondu at high sig becomes practically immune to special attacks from any class. Something tells me that this kind of utility will start to grow on the community. His rupture damage, heal block, and general simplicity are very nice as well.

You definitely missed something. Super-Skrull is capable of very high burst damage if you rotate SP1 and SP2 and keep his buff count up. He also benefits a lot from higher power gain (higher sig) for his damage rotation. However, Yondu is still better for the unique and universal type of utility he offers, which is mitigating special attack damage almost entirely.

That's fair enough, I don't fault the choice. Skrull is an acquired taste but not for every one. Personally I would argue exclusivity trumps everything in this regard but I'm a bit of a collector so don't blame you for sticking with yondu haha

I’d pick super skrull. He’s a pretty solid dual threat after his buff. And awakening gems are easier to get than special champs, he probably won’t be available for a long time. Gems are still abit rare but seeing how they are giving away generic awakening gems in each Odin, I think they will be more readily available in the future.

Skrull is also great, and it’ll be much easier to get an awakening gem for Yondu than it’ll be to get Skrull again. You do want to awaken Yondu when you can though as his sig ability is amazing.
