Alliance Wars timeout hp loss

Hello, I think you should find a better way to enforce a timeout penalty in alliance wars, rather than automatically wipe out half of an attacker's hp. Why should I lose hp in the following case? I continuously fought until the timeout was reached, but the enemy didn't die. I didn't try to avoid the fight in any way.

Valid point, I've been deterred from certain fights due to this alone. Can the game consider leaving hp alone if the fight has say, 5 seconds or less of pause?

Some of us don't have ranked God level 5* to put down tanks in a single go, but we still suffer huge penalty (AW and AQ mini)
