What happens when you remove a +health node on a boss that's already wounded?

Let's say a boss has a base 50,000 health and there's a linked node giving him +100% health. You fight him and remove 50,000 health before dying. Someone then removes the linked node. Does the boss now have 0 health because you already removed 50,000 HP? Or does he have 25,000 because you already removed half his HP? Or does something else happen?

    25k its based on the % so its always better to fight unlinked otherwise you are just wasting effort
