Why the refresh?

Can I just ask why? Why “refresh” season 4 when it’s become absolutely tedious and stale? The game is desperate for a new season, and you’re too busy “refreshing” the same old junk. The rewards are poor in comparison to AW now. AQ is dead at the moment, and “refreshing” the current season (making it harder, with no increase to rank rewards) makes no sense at all.
