How Old Man Logan works on bleed node - help!

SillyCaitlinSillyCaitlin Member Posts: 535
Supposedly Old Man Logan has an 85% shorter bleed duration.

If fighting a champ on the "60 second bleed drains 100% of health" node, is the bleed 85% shorter (9 seconds)? Or does the node supersede the ability?

If it is the case the bleed lasts for only 9 seconds, is the bleed the same strength proportionally (would only drain 85% of health because of the much shorter duration)?

I really appreciate an answer to this--even if it may be a stupid question!

I mean, it does say wounds are closed 85% faster. Can I accept that at face value?

Fair question. I have tried it in quests with Rogue and OML and it works. Have not tried in war, but I would think it should work there also. And yes the bleed has been proportional

It would work, as it is described

It does work. Also supposedly closes Double Edge Wounds faster, if you run suicides.

I've no idea how it stacks with Coagulate, Suture or mutagenesis Masteries - would be nice to know.

Bleed resistance like OML's is sometimes more useful than total immunity, against champs like Electra, Yondu and X-23. Can't say the same for Gambit's 22% resistance.

Thank you so much for the responses! I have mostly junk in terms of bleed immune 5*s (actually none---only 4*s), and only need 8000 more t4cc shards to rank up a mutant 5*. I think given this information, 5* OML will be it.

I would definitely not waste t4cc on OML. Wait for better champs getting that 85% reduced bleed time is not worth the resources that you would have to put into a garbage champ

Then who would you use to clear the 60 second bleed nodes if you were me? I've been working on acquiring a champ to handle bleed for over 3 years now... not so sure that I'd wake up tomorrow and get one. OML is literally my only 5* champ with any benefit against bleed (except for Gambit, whose 22% resistance seems even less useful).

I would,I love OML!When he goes berserk,He Crits hard,And his bleeds also increase A LOT!

Although,I really advise against wasting t4cc unless you get them frequently

Eh… OML can be a crazy old gramps when duped. However I’d wait for a better roster in invest T4-Class into him. 4/40 could work as he’s still not bad for bleed immunity/resistance given he’s one of 5 that can actually deal damage and his regen isn’t terrible

Agent Venom could shrug it off

This but not guaranteed. Just switch to a different path until you get iceman or a robot.

    Agreed.

Also, do you have anyone else at a lower rank, like Rogue? She would cut bleed time (and everything else) by 70%.

Having said that, have a search for OML in old threads. There are those who would swear by him - and those who would swear at him...

You can definitely make him work for you.

Just wait until you get Iceman. He possesses poison immunity and bleed immunity and would be a much better choice over OML.

Yeah... I'm at 3 years 1 month since I started playing this game, and I'm not sure how many more years I can wait. :p

Agreed. I'm at three years and still haven't even got a 4* Switch or original Thor.

I'd say if you think you need him, go for it. There are people who hate OML (but clearly don't play with him much) and those who love him - I researched a couple of threads for you:

Just if you do rank up OML, don't take him against Voodoo or Ronan; and be careful not to let Mordo or Morningstar land a Special 2 at the wrong time!

Why not take him against Ronan or Voodoo?

Why not take him against Ronan or Voodoo?

    ???

Because they can annihilate champions like OML and Groot who generate loads of buffs.

My awakened (rank 30) Ronan gets +40% Attack, and +0.5s Stun duration per buff on the opponent. It's not unusual for OML to generate ten buffs at a time... So he doesn't want to pick a fight with Ronan.

Voodoo can use his SP1 to turn those ten buffs into Spirit Venom; Mordo can turn them against you with Soul Barb; and Magik and Morningstar have increased Attack on their SP3 and SP2 respectively, so neither of them is a good match-up either.

But Ronan gets the extra Attack on every single hit, not just specials; so he's the ultimate solution for champs like OML.

So did you rank him up?

There a good video on you tube about beast and oml and how they work with bleeds
  • r3zonater3zonate Member Posts: 47
Beast would seem to be a much bettwe option, as he also has the power reduction when duped.

I can't really suggest ranking up old man Logan either, and I've been in the same boat as you. I literally JUST got a 5* tech champion worth using an awakening gem on, and have had for a couple years now. I got my first 5* tech champion early this year (out of 34), and eventually got sparky as my 4th tech champion.

I'm sure OML can dish out a lot of damage, but for the one node you might need him for, you could find yourself facing mystic champions in war, with MD you'll be regretting it more, and even more likely a mystic champion on a bleed node.
  • SillyCaitlinSillyCaitlin Member Posts: 535
@r3zonate I don’t have a good beast. He can handle bleed well? Darn, I hate these bleed nodes without a champ that can handle it.

I have actually tested this in AQ before. The bleed node closes super fast, (Old Man Logan) with less than 25% damage done, while he's regenerating the entire time as it damages him, plus Salve/Willpower, etc heals
  • SillyCaitlinSillyCaitlin Member Posts: 535
@Magrailothos Thanks. Ronan’s description was lacking a thorough explanation of that. Simply that he’d punish the use of debuffs... how informative.

Gave it a try and jimony crickets you’re right! https://ufile.io/1pim6

And no I did not rank him up yet. Still praying for a decent bleed immune.

Cool. Well at least I hope you've got a new appreciation of Ronan, even if you're not going with Old Man Logan.

I picked up a 4* cosmic Awakening Green a year or so back, which was my cue to attack RoL to acquire a 4* Ronan so I could Awaken him.

Sure, he's better against some opponents than others, but against some of the most overpowered, node-enhanced Bosses... He rocks.
