    They tried to fix red cyclops and failed miserably. Both cyclops are the epitome of depression.

    While the suggestion about a fullscreen beam as a heavy isn't serious (I hope that was a joke, at least), I do think the means to improving Cyclops should involve his eye blast. He basically just needs a couple unique synergies to round out his abilities. Honestly, similar but different to how Star-Lord works, I would suggest his hit counter or some other mechanic play into increasing his destructive ability over time. Here are some potential ideas that can make him better without making him ridiculously overpowered:

    Add Namor and Emma Frost and create a synergy system that activates the Phoenix Five synergy if any 3 of them are together Cyclops (NXS), Emma, Namor, Magik, Colossus or Unstoppable Colossus. Each of them would get one Phoenix charge per successful heavy attack and enable abilities specific to Phoenix (Jean Grey). This adds furies and incineration chances to their attacks when over 3 charges, which would be maintained by avoiding overloading. Jury is out on if to also give them Phoenix's Resurrection, but if they would, we'd have them disable the Phoenix ability after their resurrection in that fight to restore 25% health or something.

    For Cyclops (Blue Team) we would exclude him from that Phoenix line up by giving him a unique ability with another suggested new addition, Mr. Sinister. In this case, he should have the ability to add buffs to Cyke, Phoenix or Cable if any two of them are teamed with him. In Cyke's case, every 10 hits in an uninterrupted combo adds 2 more hit values to his specials. For example, a normal Sp3 may register as 30 hits, but after a combo of 10-19 it would count as 32 hits and do that extra bit of damage; likewise a combo of 50-59 would make that Sp3 count as 40 hits. Maybe his number of hits may scale too high if the combo counter also counts the enhanced Sp3 the next time around, so maybe make the counter only register Medium or Light hits. Every 5 medium hits adds 1 extra beam count to his Sp2 and Sp3 special attacks. What would regulate these are things like Sp1 Lock, Sp2 Lock, Power Leak, Safe Guard and the timer itself.

    Unlike most suggestions though, the suggested Mr. Sinister, Namor and Emma are ripe with connections all around other champs and abilities that can be unique to the game.

    Sinister:
    a) Signature abilities based on mimicking an effect based on the synergies present in his team and opponents. b) Also, the ability to trigger resurrection in one fallen mutant or science champ on his team for each fight he wins. Example A - If a synergy on his team adds power gain rates, he gets greater power gain. Example B - in Questing, AQ or AW if playing as Sinister and win fight 1, he gets one persistent charge that if using a Mutant or Science team mate in fight 2, if knocked out, they revive with 20% health (we'd call that Persistent Charge a Clone effect), If he won 2 or more fights before putting in a Mutant who loses a fight, the mutant could revive 2 times in the same fight (Max revives) and he Sinister would retain the extra unused charges. He's also useful to have effects on Beast (synergy makes Beast count as a Villain and increasing his crit rate for bleeds) and he'd also have synergies with MODOK and others under the Intelligencia.

    Namor:
    Set him up like Hyperion but using a trident that causes a water wave like Magneto's. Give him abilities that alter with low and high tide in the region server (like Moon Knight with the phases of the moon) that alternate electric charges and fury charges. A drowning effect can work like bleed and concussion. Synergies would include the Phoenix 5, the Order (with Hulk and Dr. Strange), and Strained Alliances (with Black Panther (classic), Black Bolt and Hyperion) and add an Illuminati synergy into BP's and Beast's lists (dividing up Namor, Black Bolt, Iron Man, Dr. Strange and Hulk), there can also be a Cabal synergy with Thanos, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive referencing the Incursion events. (This also has potential if game licenses for Fantastic Four characters ever become a thing)

    Emma:
    Alternate modes where holding block 3 secs switches between flesh and diamond form (use Hood as precedent for 2 visual versions). She'd be able to become Bleed and Poison immune, but be unique in not starting out that way on Damage Over Time node content. One of her attacks would be like a TK wave which causes bleed in Diamond form, but causes Power Lock or Concussion in Flesh form. She has a plethora of synergies to feed on:
    It's Complicated (her, Cyclops and Namor) with no Sue Richards, she'd be Namor's resident blonde interest
    or Dark X-Men (her & Namor) if It's Complicated added to Cyclops's synergies (her, Cyclops (NXS), Phoenix)
    A Dark X-Men synergy can be rounded out if Cloak & Dagger are added
    Cabal (Her, Hood, Iron Patriot & Loki)
    Potential Unlocked (w/Iceman & Storm, giving him alternating Precision and Regen shields, while Storm gets Evasion charges or something to reference her Wind powers)

    His Heavy should be a full-screen Laser Beam and his eyes should glow as he charges it.

    That would make a block break that you can't Dodge, which would not be fair

    Maybe concussion on all his specials too? Would mean that you could have a (hopefully) potent ability shutdown, considering you play aggressively
