**WINTER OF WOE - BONUS OBJECTIVE POINT**
As previously announced, the team will be distributing an additional point toward milestones to anyone who completed the Absorbing Man fight in the first step of the Winter of Woe.
This point will be distributed at a later time as it requires the team to pull and analyze data.
The timeline has not been set, but work has started.
There is currently an issue where some Alliances are are unable to find a match in Alliance Wars, or are receiving Byes without getting the benefits of the Win. We will be adjusting the Season Points of the Alliances that are affected within the coming weeks, and will be working to compensate them for their missed Per War rewards as well.

Additionally, we are working to address an issue where new Members of an Alliance are unable to place Defenders for the next War after joining. We are working to address this, but it will require a future update.

AW season, cheating, colludion and reflection on "penalties"

Hi Kabam,

My ally is holding Plat 1 spot, just barely.. And i notices, alliances cheating, colluding, piloting, gaining any advantage, have gone strongly unpunished, even worse.. biggest punishment came to alliances who play the game fair.. trying to do their best..

Allow me to explain:

Currently for Master and Plat 1, we notices some alliances were caught cheating, but biggest problem is the way they were penalized.
First, they lost a minimum amount for points in AW season leaderboard.. Such penalty is way too little for the fact the big advantage they gained. To be honest, i think biggest and most fair punishment would be relegation down, Master -> Plat 1, Plat 1 -> Plat 2, and so on... Cuttting some 1 million points did absolutely nothing, they will they get over 80% of rewards based on points they got to by cheating..

And to emphasize, they climbed high in AW rating, got into biggest AW tiers, and got many rewards by winning wars, and they kept all those 5* and 6* shards...

Second, AW rating. Seems like alliances who got the penalty you lowered the AW rating, WHY?
Now you have alliances with stacked rosters, yes, stacked from many cheated wins in high tiers, to face alliances who play fair, who maybe wanna climb up, and face such a strong and unfair opponent in AW matchmaking..
So, you basically tried to punish cheaters, and fair playing players and alliances suffer more!!

Here its obvious, lowering AW rating to maybe lower AW tier of a certain cheating alliance is NOT a solution as it obviously hurt others much more...

To summarize, you basically did nothing to restore faith to people who play fair, and ALSO spend money..!!
On top of this, i fear, you still haven't isolated all ways people cheat their way for AW rewards...

In the end.. what if my ally losses current AW, and slips out of Plat 1?
What if we lost one, two AW during this season to cheaters? And they are still ahead of us on AW season leaderboard?

We STRONGLY urge you to rectify this situation, and actually punish people cheating.. Just because they spend, they cannot or mustnt be on top?

And a Disclaimer in the end.. even if i dont know all the facts, it is how community, in a small margin sees the current unfair situation..

Thank you for your attention.

The alliances that cheat or collude shouldn’t have the main focus of their punishment be lowered alliance rating. All alliance that do something fishy should not get any war rewards. That’s the reason they cheat. So take that away from them.

I don't know man. We have a sister alliance that lost some points and war rating in gold 1. They have a dude that owns a bunch of accounts and I guess the opponents were complaining about it in war chat and obviously turned them in. They lost rating and points with no communication of any kind. Punishments need to have some kind of process that can be audited or discussed. I think people are focusing too much on top tier -- everyone is in on it -- situations. Some dudes in gold 1, still in gold 1 after punishment -- that has a guy with several accounts (which kabam has said is ok) are left scratching their heads with the source of the problem and what to do. DO you kick this loyal guy out that has a bunch of accounts or was some other 2 guys piloting and Kabam found it. The process needs to be better.

Taking away I’ll gotten points is the right way to go, lowering the aw rating is not though because they do get easier matchups. What I would propose is keep their aw rating the same but lower their tier which would lower their multiplier as well, and they would still have tough matchups, and even if they did win, they wouldn’t be able to get high tier points.

I say let the alliances who cheat let them keep playing and move up or down in rank or spots and when it comes to season rewards dont give it to them, give them to the rightfully playing alliance. and reward the alliance who doesnt cheat at all a reward as well?

I agree wholeheartedly. Take away offenders season points but leave their AW rating the same. Lowering AW rating rewards the offender with easier match ups and punishes the alliances playing fairly with harder match ups.

when one alliance cheats, they get rewarded for it. It shouldn't take this long for Kabam to find proof that a top 3 alliance has cheated all season, yet they haven't done a thing, and they will take their free rewards and do it all over again in season 3. Great way to boost morale amongst the other alliances.

He tried to cheat by letting someone else complete content he couldnt. Mods or not, he broke the TOS and paid the price. You can’t justify any instance of acccount sharing. Don’t do it. Period. Or, be prepared to pay the consequence.

Wanted to thank you for the feedback on this and ensure you that we're looking into how we can further improve our processes in these cases. We truly want to keep the contest a fair place.

    Ok, you asked for it...
    Lets talk fair...
Friend of mine needed help in LoL, so he shared his account with a guy so do some fights.. Sadly, he didnt know that guys was using mods, and in the end, his account was permanently banned.

Now, people cheat for months, striving for biggest rewards, consequently getting a huge advantage in rewards towards other players...
Their punishment, no bans, no real penalty...!

    VERY FAIR Kabam!

To be fair. Account Sharing is equally against TOS, whether they used Mods or not. All sides are wrong, TBH.

That’s not the point. The point is that there are meant others doing the same things with little to no consequences.

Quick question i have 3 accounts all in the same alliance i use my iPhone and my android phone and also my iPad is that cheating im in a Plat 1 alliance is this consider cheating because i dont see anywhere that owning 3 accounts is wrong, and in all my account i have 2 rank 5 5* medusa and also a rank 5 5* ironman IW which i use on defense all my account belong to the same alliance once someone tried to report us for cheating but i don't see how me owning 3 account is cheating im not playing for anyone but my self. So my question is do you guys consider this cheating?

I there a way we can report a alliance we think may be piloting to have it looked into. Or are we supposed to just let Kabam work it out? The alliance we are taking on right now, I think may be doing it. Movements are odd and most of the members get to a linked node that needs to be cleared for others to move and sat there hours before it was cleared. Not just one person did that, but almost all of them. Thinking they were waiting for the "pilot" to clear the node for them. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me.

In any competition if you are cheating you are disqualified from the competition same should be done in Alliance War any alliance that is piloting , colluting should be disqualified for the rest of the war season

Cheating holds no consequence after you reach a certain dollar threshold. Remember that its a business that is similar to a casino. The more money you spend, the more VIP treatment you get. You, the mods and everyone else can say that's not true all you want... but it is true and always will be.

Take a look against who every Master alliance is facing,...that might be a good start.

Top Master alliances avoiding each other for most of the season is the complete opposite of the competitive spirit seasons are supposed to be about.

    Some options are:
    1) Have an opt-in/opt out for every war with only two time frames available - 3:00 to 6:30 and 6:30 to 10:00. This will ensure that at least half of these groups that are dodging each other are guaranteed to match.
    2) Have a playoff system where the top 10-20 in each bracket HAVE to match against each other for the last 1-2 weeks. What's the point of being top 3 if you've only played against the top 10 1-2 times out of 20+ wars.....
    3) Possibly have playoff matches worth more points so there is some incentive to actually playing each other

If any of these changes take place I'm fairly certain the top of each bracket will look radically different.

People have been punished for cheating in War. That doesn't mean the actions taken were the same.
