There were also no major changes to the game, no AW seasons, or any special arenas happening during the other outages mentioned. If there were then yes they probably should/would have been delayed for those instances as well. As it stands, be happy if you don't have issues you have a leg up on other players as you can grind more arena, enter AQ/AW fights without worry of your game crashing and getting a half health penalty and costing your team a defender kill, and still have more time to complete other game content.
But this game is a contest after all, players will always look for a way to get an edge over other players, especially if they have been disadvantaged in the past. This is why online gaming communities are generally not considered the friendliest of places.
People who are able to play can still play. Seasons are highly competitive, and would amplify the motivation to log in more. They can't shut down Wars entirely for those not having an issue.
Also, the Events are starting in a few days.
Imo when u took away nodes like thorns it really took away some of the challenge or having to use the right champ, i think some of thses newer nodes are worse and not what i class as challenging more so who ever has the most units will get past the new mini bosses.
Im a player that has been playing for about 3 yrs and this new setup is something that im happy to boycott as its not “fun”, back when u introduced 12.0 adora stated we would have to adjust and improve, well we as a community have done that now u want to take away the hard work we have done to adjust and improve.
Not to pick on you specifically, but you've fallen victim to Kabam's reality distortion field. Defender diversity points and attacker bonus points are not tie breakers, because those points do not break ties. But Kabam has managed to get many players to use their language, and in doing so perpetuate the problem. Calling defender diversity points and attacker bonus points "tie breakers" strongly implies that when both sides explore the map 100% that's a "tie" which those points have to break. And it justifies saying that having both sides consistently explore 100% is a bad thing, because it means that most (high tier) wars are ending in "ties." It justifies saying that constant ties are a problem worth solving.
When both sides explore 100% that's not a tie, because wars aren't judged on exploration. Wars are judged on points, and exploration is one source of points. Defender diversity is another, and attacker bonus is a third. When both sides explore the map 100% but one side gets more attacker bonus points, that means that alliance did a better job exploring, and they should win - they didn't "tie" they legitimately won on better attacker performance. When one side wins on defender diversity points they didn't break a tie with those points, they made the calculation that it was better to get those diversity points at the start of the war even if it lowered their ability to prevent the other side from getting a lot of attacker bonus points.
When defender diversity points were the *only* primary source of points outside of a full map explore (including defeating all the defenders) it wasn't considered palatable by many players to win that way, because those points are scored at the start of the fight and there's no counterbalance for skill to overcome that point deficit. With attacker bonus points there's a counter-balance: one side can try to rack up diversity points, but the other side can use that against them by racking up attacker bonus points. Usually, it is the attacker bonus points that determines things, which leans more towards skill than placement strategy. That seemed to be acceptable to more competitive players.
These things - exploration, diversity points, attacker bonus - work together. They don't mean anything separately. You can't say these points tied, so those points are the tie breaker. Kabam's designers are pushing a very specific idea about how the players should fight wars. They believe that when both sides fully explore the map, that's a tie. Non-stop ties that keep forcing tie breakers to be used is thus considered broken. Don't buy into that narrative. When one side fully explores the map with five deaths and the other side fully explores the map with six deaths, the first alliance wins. It doesn't win on a tie breaker: it wins on skill.
As long as Kabam thinks 100% exploration by both sides is a "tie" they will keep trying to figure out ways to prevent those ties from happening, generally by trying to make the map harder to complete. If you want them to stop doing that, players will have to convince Kabam that it is perfectly acceptable for one side to win on attacker bonus: that winning on attacker bonus or even diversity points is a *legitimate* win, and not just a tie breaking consolation.
So you draw the line at aw for what’s expected to be too far for players suffering the overheating, which I’m one of. I’m still able to login and make moves in aq and aw so how is delaying season and not other implementations sensical? If people are being affected enough to not be competitive in aw season how can they be expected to complete vastly more time intensive events like EQ, arena, or story questing/LoL?
Logic doesn't work on this guy, don't bother.
Btw, our guy that had enough today is one who actually spent $500 for your absurd vision deal... it really took some work but you screwed up aw enough to even make players like him quit (not just our alliance but your game). Nice job.
I am really not sure if you read every post your tagged on, but hopefully you read this one.
The changes that have been made to AW have, in my opinion, completely sucked the fun out playing AW. So much so, that I just quit my alliance which I had been in for over a year.
In the space of 4-5 wars, since the worst update since 12.0, I have completely lost interest in playing. During those wars I found myself getting increasingly apprehensive and agitated. In the end, I came to the conclusion that I have no reason to play a game that is effecting me in this way, it’s game, which should be fun and enjoyable to play.
What also got to me was watching players trying to take down you new road blocks and repeatedly fail. Good players that have no chance of taking that node down. In some circumstances it is easier to go around and take the boss down with links on, this can’t be working as intended.
I was competing in Gold 1, t4-t5, 5/65 champions are common, but the majority of players at that level have 1 maybe 2. Well, you are now in big trouble if you haven’t ranked up a suitable counter for node 30, If you don’t have the right 5/65 in your bg to counter whoever is placed on node 30, then it is most likely going to cost few items.
I tried a few different approaches, and admittedly I could get through node 30 with only 5-10 items, depending on who is there. Taking a maxed out 4* to counter the champ, is pointless, in my opinion, the power level is too lower if anything r4 or above is there. I found I could take out an r4 Hyperion with as little as 20% H&A boost, 10% Atk boost, 2 x invulnerability boost, 1 x L1 Revive, 6 x L4 HP. You might say you need the right champ, and then it will be ok, unfortunately, by the time I get the resources to rank up a counter, I believe you would have moved the goal posts.
I am not a bad player, completed chap5 100%, LOL 100%. But this node has done me over.
The cost to get through node 30 is very high, too high.
It makes me wonder if anybody from kabam actually tested this node out before release.
If certain champs are placed on node 30 and your bg hasn't ranked an effective counter, then it is very difficult to make it through.
No this is the end, I have had enough of this,
I am not sure what your actual motives were for this crazy change, it appears that you would like summoners to use more resources in AW. To that end, this update has been a rousing success.
I am not prepared to go through an AW season with that ridiculous node.
But I think your stats might show you the true, summoners will drop like flies in season 3, if it stays the same.
The cost to compete in AW just quadrupled, and I can’t afford it
Completely agree. Node 30 is a cash grab, nothing else to say really. They want people dropping units on it every war which they'll get.
