Why no gifting out of stash?

Is it possible by any means where if we have the gifting badge, we can gift out of the stash instead of just using a bunch of units? I’m broke on units but I’ve got a bunch of revives in the stash and I want to send those revives instead of using the units

    no way to do it. Kabam wants you to use units to help your friends.

    That was the original functionality of it. People exploited it and now it is gone.
