Variant 2.1 -Spite working on passive buffs?

Just took my first swipe at variant 2.1 and noticed some buffs that I thought were passive were activating the spite power gain. Specifically I noticed Hoods invisibility and Symbiote Supremes Nulls shadows armor. Are these buffs not passive? If they are passive. Is spite supposed to activate for passive buffs as well?

    Invisibility is and always was a buff.
    Sym Supreme protection is also a buff (described on his abilities).

    Both are buffs, therefore aren't passive and trigger spite

    Thank you. Wasn’t sure about Supreme, but I never knew about Hood being active. Will note this and not be afraid to push him to L2 with a stagger/nullify champ. Thanks!

    There are not passive buffs. Buffs are always active. There are passive abilities. If a symbol has a light border then it is a buff. If it has no border, its a passive ability.
