**WINTER OF WOE - BONUS OBJECTIVE POINT**
As previously announced, the team will be distributing an additional point toward milestones to anyone who completed the Absorbing Man fight in the first step of the Winter of Woe.
This point will be distributed at a later time as it requires the team to pull and analyze data.
The timeline has not been set, but work has started.
There is currently an issue where some Alliances are are unable to find a match in Alliance Wars, or are receiving Byes without getting the benefits of the Win. We will be adjusting the Season Points of the Alliances that are affected within the coming weeks, and will be working to compensate them for their missed Per War rewards as well.

Additionally, we are working to address an issue where new Members of an Alliance are unable to place Defenders for the next War after joining. We are working to address this, but it will require a future update.

Please EXPLAIN!How Can Quake's Aftershock Effect Floating Heroes?

    exactly,they shouldnt

this is just an idea to talk about, almost ever hero has a counter,Quake hasn't...Have a 4/55 or higher Quake and go all the way...Thats a bit weird

Actually IMIW is a counter to Quake, she can't evade his repulsor attacks so while charging heavy he can hit her with his medium attack

It simply isn't a game mechanic. The model or animations doesn't matter to their abilities, and are simply a visual thing

Well maybe it should be ?

You do not want the decision on whether or not a champion appears to be floating or flying to depend on whether or not merely depicting the champion in that way suddenly forces them to make those champions immune to a host of different effects that have been declared to be "not affecting flying things." That would be like deciding all champions depicted to be big should have a higher attack value than the ones depicted to be smaller. It doesn't make the game better, it just makes it more restrictive on what we will ever get into the game.

we've played this game before but anyone who floats and is affected by shock is breaking physics.

The air particles move around so much that they damage them.

What is allowing the champs to float? Magic? Strings? Anything that makes more sense than Quake being able to hurt them while floating?

In the show, she doesn't just put her hands on the ground and make things shake, she reaches her hand out and shoots vibrations. She doesn't cause the Earth to shake, that would be catastrophic, as she would do it very often, she just boosts the vibrations of whatever she aims for. If you're still confused, look up Absolute Zero.

The character even demonstrates this in game. Pretty clever Kabam

Funny i thought about that a while ago and never brought it up. If they are off the ground how can she effect them? But kinda glad she does! I like her and play her a lot.

I'm probably wrong, but Quake can make anything vibrate, whether it's touching the ground or not. It's her power.

Because Quake’s power isn’t solely delivered by earth shock waves. In comics and tv she can quake thru the air.

Well because science. If a bomb goes off and you are within the blast radius then you can die from the outgoing shockwave even if floating in the air.

Although I agree with the many that clarified that Quake is not limited to ground effects, as the game evolves, and since the animations show her vibrations aimed at the ground, I believe it would be worth revisiting that certain ground effects have less potency on floating/flying opponents (not immunity though, just less effectiveness).

It came to mind when I was thinking up tweaks to Spider-Gwen. With her old Sp1 my idea was to have her spin a web as she flipped backward covering a portion of the ground. While opponents are on the web, their Specials would miss her 100%, her successful attacks would generate ~50% more power to compensate for Sp1 being a non-striking special, and even her blocked hits would be like kinetic instigation, gaining some power. Before the web effect expires, any opponent standing/running over it would lose evasion, auto-block and other defensive abilities due to the stickiness, but this would exclude floaters.

Likewise, this would apply to other things animated to run across the ground, like
    • Electro's Sp2 (reduced shock damage to floaters)
    • Thor (Foster)'s Sp1 (reduced shock damage to floaters)
    • Quake's Sp1 (reduced direct damage to floaters)
    • Quake's heavy charging (reduced rate of building aftershock on floaters)
    • (maybe) Magneto's Sp2 (reduced direct damage to floaters)
Of course, they completely reworked Spider-Gwen's back flip Sp1, but they could still tweak it further to spray webbing on the ground, or they could work it into Spider-Man (Sybmiote)'s Sp1 to differentiate him more from Spider-Man (Classic).

Dumbest suggestion yet! Shes fine the way she is and theirs plenty of counters for her, fight a true strike champ and she's pretty much nullified.

Why revive the thread. And it's not a dumb suggestion.

Actually in the Comics Quake has created "Earthquakes" inside People's Brains... So it's not specifically tied to The Earth/The Ground.

Quakes ability could potentially be percussive, disorienting the opponent and hence causing a concussion rebuff. It’s a video game. If we went through all of the various physics it would be insane. How come magento can’t crush juggernaut helmet ? Or turn colossus into a ball of metal.... because it doesn’t make sense

Juggernaut's Helmet is Magic... (That's actually all we get on the Magneto Powers Explanation)

Then for Colossus, Magneto's Power have a Strange Effect of his Metal Skin that causes it to retract and becomes unable to activate for a short time (same thing with I believe Anti-Metal which is Antarctic Vibrainium).

To OP, Quake’s ability is not earth based, it’s vibrations based. She could create a sonic boom if she wanted to.

You mean the device that trapped the Negative Zone’s energy with Gravitonium to prevent more illusions from the Monolith of Creation that was blown apart?

Iirc she also did a Hulk sp2-ish clap attack when fighting against someone sometime in the series.

Hate commenting on a thread that should be dead and buried....

But I think about nuclear explosions a lot. And one that comes to mind is the Tsar Bomba. The shockwave from that revolved around the planet 3 times and shattered glass windows over 900KMs away.

I think someone floating a foot off the ground could feel the effects of a targetted shockwave pretty effectively.
