If 4* are going obsolete, why not lower 300 unit crystal to 150 units?

They're not going obsolete. There's one part of the game you can't use them in. Once you've beaten it, that's it. There's a whole game outside of that.

4 stars are being phased out but they still have some life. I think the writing is on the wall that they are becoming obsolete.

I'm sure that 4* will still be part of AW, AQ and Back Issues, so really, it's JUST the Story mode so far ... though, in all honesty, I still don't see a good reason to ban them from Act 6 (and beyond).

This 4* ban talk needs to stop. It's in one tiny aspect of the game that a majority can't even access yet. Everywhere else, they are still very useful.

But they should update some of the crystals in circulation to make them more relevant to the current state of the game. That is for sure.
