I realize grammar is on the low end of fixes at the moment... but this mistake has been here forever.

    What's the error ? Do you think it should be “based on” instead of “based off of” ?
    If so, then maybe technically, grammatically, but the stated wording is very commonly used as an alternative. Ain’t no need to change it (lol).

    Yeah this one is debatable. Some feel that "off of" is imperfect, but I don't see it as a major infraction. Lol. More coloquial than anything.

    Unfortunately that's what most Americans usually use in their daily speech for a couple of years now which I find so frustrating everytime I hear it.
    I'm not American but I know English.
    Another one will be "You have to have" which is supposed to be "You need to have". The later sounds better and make you sound like a smart man too.
