Alliance Quests: Dormammu's Dominion

Kang the Conqueror’s reign is coming to an end, and darkness prepares to take over in the next season of Alliance Quests.

Season 3 is coming to a close, Season 4 is almost here, and with it comes new enemies, Mini Bosses, and Dormammu as the boss!

Improved Alliance Quest Maps:
- New layouts are coming for Maps 1, 4, and 5, and a refreshed set of encounters in Maps 1-5
- Better tuned the difficulty levels of maps 4 and 5 to be a more linear progression from Map 3 and into Map 6
-Tip: Alliances that were on the lower performing end of alliances running Map 5, may now find that Map 4 is a better home for them
- Maps 2-5 will now have 3 different selections of Mini Bosses that will be chosen at random every week
- Preview the Mini Bosses and Buffs you’ll be up against before choosing to start the Map!
- It’s now easier to check out map and bracket rewards
- Map selection now defaults to the last Map that at least one Battle Group cleared

Changes to the Alliance Quest schedule for Season 4:
- There will be no Pre-Season Phase
- The last Alliance Quest of Season 3 will act as the Placement Phase
- The starting Bracket in Season 4 will be determined by your Alliance’s total score on the final day of Season 3
- We will also be changing the start date for the last Quest of Season 3, to April 20th, shortening the downtime between Alliance Quest periods from 3 days to 2 days to allow for one more FULL round of Alliance Quest to determine the rankings

We want to ensure that Season 4 of Alliance Quests is new and exciting for you, Summoners. Our goals are to give you a whole new iteration and address many of your concerns with the previous seasons, giving some choice back to you and addressing the wall that many Summoners feel they have hit with Champion progression.

Here’s more about these exciting new developments and improvements!

Bracket Changes:
We’ve reduced the amount of brackets to 3
The Expert Bracket will contain 3,500 Alliances
The Advanced Bracket will contain 7,500 Alliances
The Normal Bracket will contain all remaining Alliances
This will simplify the way our bracket system works and will give players an experience more appropriate to their skill level
Worried about the effect this will have on your rewards? Don’t be. Because we’re introducing something brand new to the Alliance Quest system

Glory and The Glory Store:
Glory is a brand new resource being introduced to Alliance Quest Milestones and Rank Rewards. Use Glory in the Glory Store to purchase rank up materials, like Tier 1 Alpha Catalysts, Tier 4 Basic Catalysts, and Glory Crystals (contains 10% of a Tier 4 Class Catalysts) or Greater Glory Crystals (contains 20% of a Tier 4 Class Catalyst).

This gives you the ability to choose the Rank Up Materials that you need in order to progress. You’ll also be able to buy Alliance Potions, Gold Crystals and Glory Crystals!

In order to ensure that this addresses the slowdown in progression in a competitive manner, the Glory Store will operate differently than the other stores found in the game. After purchasing an item in the Glory Store, the price of purchasing a second of that item will increase, and the third will increase further, and so on as you make additional purchases. Don’t worry, if you’re willing to wait, the prices will revert back to the original price after a set amount of time. The time it takes to revert back to the original price will change per item in the store and a reset timer will indicate how much time you’ll need to wait until it resets..

There is also a maximum on the amount of Glory you can have at one time. This should encourage Summoners that need Rank Up materials to continue to push to get more.

Conqueror Rewards:
Conqueror Rewards are rewards you get for beating the boss
Just like Exploration and completion rewards, defeating Dormammu will give the Conqueror Reward to all Summoners that took part in that Alliance Quest
The more Battlegroups your Alliance completes, the more rewards you’ll all receive!

Hero Limitations: Champions that you use on Map 1 and 2 will no longer be locked to Alliance Quests!

Menu Improvements: A redesigned Alliance Quests landing screen that better surfaces the Map rewards for each map and your Bracket, as well as the top rewards for other Brackets.

Map Changes:
Maps 2-5 each have 3 variations on the Mini Bosses that can appear, and variations change each week
Any Alliance Member can now preview a map to scope out this week’s Mini Boss and nodes before you commit to a map
We’ve reduced the cost of running Map 4 from 500,000 Gold to 400,000 Gold!
We’ve reduced the cost of running Map 5 from 250,000 Battle Chips to 175,000 Battle Chips!
The default map will now be the map where at least one Battlegroup managed to take down the boss, or the one your Alliance can currently afford to play. If no such map exists, we will recommend a default based on your Alliance’s current bracket.

Battlegroup Minimums
In the Expert and Advanced brackets, we’ve reduced the number of Summoners needed in a Battlegroup before the next Battle Group unlocks.
Alliances in the Expert bracket require at least 1 Summoner in a Battle Group before the next Battle Group unlocks
Alliances in the Advanced bracket require at least 2 Summoners in a Battle Group before the next Battle Group unlocks
Alliances in the Normal bracket still require at least 3 Summoners in a Battle Group before the next Battle Group unlocks

And lastly, something we were going to leave for you to find in game, but we think you'd all like to know... Dormammu is the Boss of Season 4. We intend for him to be difficult, but we don't intend for the difficulty to be as a result of players playing well. Dormammu will not have his Signature Ability activated.

Get ready for your very last series of Alliance Quests in Season 3, because that week will act as the Placement Phase that determines which Bracket your Alliance will compete in for Season 4. Remember, there is only a 2 day break between Alliance Quests coming up!

Here’s the last update before Dormammu takes over as the new boss of Alliance Quests! This is all about the Rewards! As we mentioned before, we’ve introduced Glory as a brand new resource to the game. We have also replaced most of the Rank Rewards and Milestones with Glory in order to give you greater control of your progression and ranking up Champions.

Rank Rewards:
Glory has taken the place of all Rank Rewards in the Normal Bracket, scaling from 100 Glory for the bottom ranked Alliances, up to 350 for the top ranks of the bracket
The Advanced bracket brings Tier 4 Basic Catalyst Fragments back and awards between 400 and 575 Glory for rewards
The Expert Bracket brings Map 6 Crystals back into the rewards, but only for the top 15 Alliances, while awarding entire Tier 4 Basic Catalysts to every Alliance in the Bracket, and either Tier 4 Catalyst Fragment Crystals or Tier 4 Class Catalyst Crystals to the top 15 as well. You can expect to win between 700 and 3,000 Glory in this bracket.

Milestone Rewards:
Each Milestone awards you with Glory and at least 1 Map Crystal
Alliances in the Normal bracket will earn 155 Glory, 1 Map 1 Crystal, 5 Map 2 Crystals, and 4 Map 3 Crystals by reaching all of the milestones
Alliances in the Advanced bracket will earn 525 Glory, 6 Map 3 Crystals, and 4 Map 4 Crystals by reaching all of the milestones
Alliances in the Expert bracket will earn 2,050 Glory, 9 Map 5 Crystals, and 9 Map 6 Crystals by reaching all of the milestones

The Glory Store
Glory has a scaling cost to the items you buy. If you’d like to purchase multiples of an item, each subsequent item will cost more than the last, and maxes out at 5 of each item. There is a cool down timer that will reset the item to its original price and the purchase maximum. You can also preview the price of multiples before you purchase.

Here are a few examples:
Tier 4 Basic Catalysts - Example 1:
Will cost 1,100 Glory and have an 8 day cool down before returning to its normal price.
The second Tier 4 Basic Catalyst costs 1,210 Glory, while buying a 5th Tier 4 Basic before the cooldown ends will cost you 2,750 Glory.
All Catalysts, Catalyst Fragments, or Catalyst Fragment Crystals have an 8 day cooldown period.
Tier 4 Basic Catalysts - Example 2:
You can buy a Glory Crystal, which awards 10% of a random Tier 4 Class Catalyst, for 500 Glory
You can buy a Greater Glory Crystal that doubles the last Crystal’s amount for 1,500 Glory.
Why is it more than double the price? Because it’s a significant amount of fragments for a specific kind of Tier 4 Class Catalyst.

Alliance Health Potions will start at 20 Glory for a Level 1 Health Potion, and increase up to 260 Glory for a single Level 4 Alliance Health Potion. All Potions have a 1 day cooldown period. Gold Crystals will cost 40 Glory with a 3 day cooldown period.

Remember, this final series in Alliance Quests Season 3 will act as the placement phase for Season 4 to determine which of the 3 brackets your Alliance will compete in!

Now, the total breakdown. This the most accurate information that we have right now, but there is still a chance that this might change. Remember, the Map Rewards have not changed. Even though the Costs of Running Map 4 and 5 have changed, you'll still get the same amount back as you did in Season 3. Additionally, the Map Crystals have not changed from the last season either.

*Note: The increasing price is for each consecutive item. Eg. Buying 2 Tier 4 Basic Catalysts before the Timer Resets will cost 2,310 Glory.
