Sabretooth Passive Furies - How do they disappear?

I was using my 6* Sabretooth (unduped) in AQ and was enjoying the damage ramping up for each passive fury i was getting by using special attacks. I got to 12 furies after a few fights and then the next fight they were all gone? Is there a maximum amount you can reach that then the passive furies disappear? (Only recently started using him)

    However many persistent charges you start with is how many fights the furies will last. each fight consumes a charge to store the furies from the previous fight.

    When your persisten charges has reached zero, all your passiv furies will disappear.
    You consume one persistent charge each battle.
    After you consumed every one youll get a new number of charges to use.

    IF I remember correctly.
