$50 to rank 3 a 5*?

Doesn’t matter who this deal is targeted at. 50 dollars just to rank 3 a 5* is absurd. 25 seems more apt

It has a glitch and it was supposed to include a 3-4 gem as well.

I wonder if the people who claim these offers are "absurd" will ever understand that a) they are deliberately so, and b) they *need* people to believe so.

No F2P game whose monetization people have a brain are attempting to sell as much stuff as possible, any more than Apple attempts to sell as many iPhones as humanly possible. Anyone applying the armchair economics of potato chips to either business model won't really understand how either work.

If there weren't Youtuber's giving these offers Ds and Fs, Kabam would probably have to invent them.

These offers are more targeted towards the whales who have surplus to spend. Not worth it unless you have too much to spend lol. So, hold on to your bank accounts and keep your wallets empty.

I think they will sell more to the newer players. They put a low level on the offer to target new players who are pulling their first few 5*s with the rewards from the login calendar trying to catch the whales. While this offer is absurdly priced it will sell to those wanting to jump ahead in the game. My issue isn't really the price on these offers since they are almost all way overpriced. My issue is people use these offers to jump ahead in rank progression and then come to the forum to complain how content like the boss rush or uncollected is to hard. Paying to progress prevents people from learning the skills for these more challenging pieces of content.

The pricing on all offers in the unit store are rediculous for anything "virtual." Who wants to wake up one morning and find their account that they spent 50, 60, 1000 bucks on has been hacked, banned or lost in the ether sphere!

If only they would offer a pick your class 5* awakening gem deal now. This one for the $50 was way overpriced for what it was, so now I wonder if they will do the same type deal with AGs. That is still the one offer they have not done yet.

Not exactly. Imagine an offer for $50 that contained *nothing* in it. Absolutely nothing. You pay $50, and you get a receipt. That's it. Who's that targeted at? Crazy people? Obviously, that offer is targeted at people willing to donate cash to support the game that don't need anything in return. In particular, they are willing to donate cash without needing to be given an advantage over all other players. In theory, that's perfect. The people donating know what they are getting, and are fine with it. Everyone else, like the free to play players, aren't falling behind the spenders, because the spenders aren't getting any advantage over them.

The problem is you probably can't support a game like this with nothing but patrons. You need at least some encouragement to spend. But the more value you put in the offers, the more you devalue game play: you allow spenders to spend past free to play players and those who spend less. This is a necessary evil. You'd like the players' progress to be based on gameplay not spending, but you can't give nothing to spenders or you won't be able to support the game.

Who these offers target are players willing to accept as little as possible for their cash, while supporting the rest of the players who now don't have to pay anything to play the game. Some players need a lot of value for their cash. Some, but not many offers will have that kind of value. Most will have much less, because there are lots of players willing to spend without getting huge value.

Most players should be thanking them, because not only are they spending a lot of money, they are impacting everyone else's gameplay as little as possible while doing so. The players that need or demand a lot more value for their cash are basically saying they will only spend money on the game if they are handed a much larger advantage over all the other players in exchange. And the game basically tells them: we don't need your money. We'd rather the game earn less money but be less pay to win.

And every time a Youtuber says an offer has extremely poor value, they are signalling to the entire world that the people who spend money on the game aren't buying a lot with that cash. Which is a better advertisement that the game is not pay to win than Kabam could make themselves. Because if you're a new or prospective player, who are you going to believe: Kabam, or the guy calling Kabam a bunch of greedy developers? You're going to believe that guy, and that guy is basically saying the game is very friendly to free to play players, because they aren't missing out on much.

As I said: if they didn't exist, Kabam would have to invent them.

This offer is aiming at newcomers who lacks tier 4 class catalyst and want to catch up.

And they also have a lot of money to use.
