  • Yes, those who have already explored the Abyss will essentially have gotten 15k extra 6* shards, but the changes to the rewards themselves is again, a difference of 5k shards.
  • If they penalized those who had already put time and effort into exploring the Abyss, the outrage would probably be even greater. Better to upset those who haven't done the content than those who have, I suppose,
  • Hopefully if they decide to rebalance Act 6, they'll learn from this, and won't remove any of the current rewards.
  • You're neglecting the fact that in lieu of those 15k shards, you're getting a 6-Star Crystal, which is work 10k 6-Star Shards. So, for those who haven't explored the Abyss yet, it's a difference of 5k shards.
  • Because... you're still getting 4 6-Star Champions? Along with the other rewards. Those who explored the Abyss did it without knowing they'd get these updated rewards.
  • People who aren't able to 100% Abyss aren't being that heavily penalized. The difference is legit 5k 6* shards, as small price to pay given that one can chose between ten Champions of a given class. Reducing the total amount of shards has clearly led to some outrage, but those who haven't attempted Abyss yet, over five…
  • You leave character suggestions here. https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/18/character-wishlist-thread-3-0/p1
  • I believe it’s been confirmed that this year the developers have specifically been focusing on more obscure/lesser known Marvel characters to bring to the Contest.
  • Thing does not need to be Awakened
  • Hype can intercept his attacks with his Specials, chaining the S2 back to back is a good time. You can do it with an R4, but with an R5 you'll have an easier time. Same goes for him in V2.
  • Parry doesn't require Mastery Cores to unlock, but Dexterity does, so you could use those cores for that.
  • Hyperion should serve you well against the Deadpool boss in V4, as well as some paths in V2. Void will work against the Electro boss in V4. If you're skilled with Thing and rank him up, he should prove useful in V2, alongside The Champion and Heimdall.
  • @PantherusNZ Do you have 1-Star Hulk and Black Panther?
  • Thier Signature Ability allows him to gain 20 Analysis Charges when the opponent activates a Special Attack that matches the previous Special Attack, such as if the opponent used two S1's in succession. It also reduces the effectiveness of abilities that cause Sentinel to lose power by a certain percentage. Having a high…
  • While it is true that the first things you notice are likely those attributes, who they are as a person matters more than any of those things. You get to know the quality of someone's character over time, so it isn't exactly a fair comparison. Furthermore, you can acknowledge someone is black, not ignoring their heritage,…
  • I would say that a while "who" a character is is more important than "what" they are (LGBT, POC, etc.), it is a nice bonus if a well-written character happens to come from a diverse background. I would hope that the reason Spider-Man is (probably) the most popular superhero in the world isn't because he is a straight,…
  • The fact of the matter is, this is a Marvel game. As such, the source material for all of the characters is from Marvel history, which doesn't have a history of promoting and creating more diverse characters until more recent years, from 2010 onwards, roughly. Kabam could make new, original characters like they did for…
  • For those reading this who don't know, and a reminder to those who do, the first part of the long term roadmap will be released this week. It may be this Wednesday, June 17th, since Kabam tends to release things on Wednesday. However, forum announcements tend not to follow a schedule, it may be sooner or later, but almost…
  • Juggernaut and Groot can both be used in V2. I think it would be neat if V5/V6 made it so that older Champions, released in 2015/2016, fun to play/more powerful in that Variant. More recently released Champions could be hindered or altogether prevented from entering the Variant.
  • There's no need to be rude, that doesn't tend to add to the discussion in a positive manner. The purpose of the thread is to provide feedback on the game, not insult one another, whether a comment is "obtuse" or otherwise.
  • A new game mode will likely take a while for the developers to make, though that may be a good step forward in releasing game modes that are PvP oriented. PvP/more solo player competitive game modes have been something people have suggested or wanted to see in the Contest.
  • I don't think that's what they meant. "Juggernaut and Groot have little to no use in the current meta" is probably more along the lines of what they were intending to communicate.
  • Class 6-Star crystals could be helpful for the Champion gates in 6.2 and for Class specific Solo Events like "Doctor M.O.D.O.K.'s Class Use". I myself don't have a single Mutant 6-Star Champion, and only one 6-Star Tech Champion.
  • Also, misinterpreting or honing in on only one part of someone's argument whilst ignoring the rest doesn't tend to make for a constructive discussion. We are human, and can make mistakes. Allowing someone to clarify what they meant can be helpful in communicating with each other.
  • If there is something changed to the ways Champions can be acquired from Crystals, I can only hope that it is in done such a way that doesn't push the power creep of the game faster than it is already going. I don't want a change to do more harm than good in the long run. It is frustrating when one pulls a mediocre…
  • In my experience, June has been the month in which Summoner Appreciation events, if there are any, are held. In past years, there have been a least two occasions in which Gold Boosts and the like ran during the month of June. Even last year, the 90 day calendar technically started on the last day of June. That said, the…
  • And now 5*s are more accessible than ever, you can get over 30k shards this month by running the Side Event.
  • I didn't mean to indicate that every Champ should be able to beat every fight. I like that there are a variety of Champions, none of which excel at doing everything, it makes it interesting. More so, that having to rank a Champ specifically for a single fight, even if they can be used elsewhere, is, to me, less about what…
  • It helps to have done the fight already, and to have two of the best counters to him. Some don't have both or either of those Champs, so it could be wiser to hold off until you pull those Champs before you can go in. The problem of ranking Champions best suited for the content, and not the Champions you actually may want…
